"We're so late," Minho said as they walked out from the station to the SKZ Hospital.
"Chill out mr. On time, it's still 8.45 and they started at 9.00," Changbin walked beside Minho as they entered the hospital area.
"But we have no clue where we are going to be! We also have different schedules and place. I bet you don't know where the children's hospital is right-," both of them stopped walking when they accidentally read the title of the building beside them.
Children's hospital.
"HUH????? found it. Bye hyung," Changbin snorted and walked to the children's hospital, he also ended up laughing loudly when he saw Minho's sour face. "Look at the bright side, at least now we know the main building is that way."
Today is the first day for Changbin and Minho's exchange program in SKZ Hospital, both of them got accepted in the program for a month but in different departments. Minho got accepted into the Cardiology department, meanwhile Changbin got accepted into the Pediatric-Orthopedic department. Which explaining why Changbin and Minho has different schedules and different places to be. Both of them are roommates for this program.
Minho ended up massaging his legs from walking up the hill to get to the main building, he's not really a fan of walking on the hill even though he walked a lot.
He also got lost in the hallway of hospital, accidentally making the professor to go out from the cath lab to pick up Minho.
"Minho, right?"
"Uhh yes..?" He got so nervous after getting lost twice in the hospital.
"Okay, I'm professor Kim. Come this way," like a kitten following their mother innocently, Minho entered the cath lab with prof. Kim and a student who was looking at Minho with curiosity.
Even when Minho was sitting on a chair while waiting prof. Kim to finish his task, the student next to him still looking at him. Kind of weird if you ask Minho how it felt.
"Hey, are you the new exchange student?" Minho turned his head and finally looked at the person who was looking at him.
"Yeah," Minho answered, making the person beside him smiled happily. "Nice, I'm also the exchange student by the way."
Minho tilted his head. Oh, well kind of explaining the reason for the staring.
"I'm Bang Chan," he said and extended his hand for a greeting. "Minho," Minho accepted his hand.
Prof. Kim came back after Minho and Bang Chan made some conversations. "Right, you need to change your clothes since this is a sterile area. Also don't forget to put the disposable shoe covers everytime you enter this room.
Minho nodded and turned his head to Bang Chan who is already wearing scrubs and shoe covers.
"I've been here since a month ago, joined the ENT department and Obgyn department for a month. So that's why I already knew what to do in here," Minho nodded, he really knew nothing in here.
"Come on, I'll show you the way," once again, Minho became a little kitten following their mother innocently.
They finished early for the first day in the department since they were just going around the hospital, showing the important rooms that needed to be attended for a month, they also got introduced to the substitute resident who is willingly to teach them and guide them everytime prof. Kim is busy.
Now Minho and Bang Chan was eating at the staff's canteen since it was cheaper than the public one.
"Did you know last month they accepted ten students for this program?"
"For the cardiology department or the general one?"
"The cardiology only, now they only accept two which is only you and me," Bang Chan said before munching his food.
"That's a large reduction of students, I wonder why they did that," Minho turned his head to see Bang Chan who also had no clue. "Probably cuz it was too crowded for that small room, I'm not sure though."
Cath lab was indeed a small room but not that small so it could afford so many people in there. But a large portion of students that will only be an observer in the cath lab was too much.
"Hey, whatchu doin' after this?"

"Oh wait what? You're 22? I'm 24," Bang Chan gasped when Minho revealed his age.
Minho raised his eyebrow, "Why are you so surprised? do I look that old???"
"Thought you were 32," Bang Chan immediately ran away when Minho was ready to smack him in the back.
Bang Chan ended up being Minho's tour guide for the day since they had nothing to do and Minho was still clueless about the area.
Bang Chan stopped and turned his head to Minho, "so that's why you looked so confused when we were in the hospital!"
Minho only shrugged, "I mean, I just finished my preclinical class, meanwhile you almost finish your clinical rotation."
"You haven't met any patients?"
"Nope."
"Never went to cath lab or surgeries?"
"Nope, you're seeing a freaking clueless preclinic student who isn't allowed to go to hospital yet."
"And yet they told you to join this exchange program???"
"Yeah..."
"What kind of university is that!!" Bang Chan protested while they were walking around the city. It was autumn, so the weather wasn't too cold nor too hot in there. They watched a lot of things, went to bakery to buy breads, had a long walk instead of using public transportation.
"Yeah, kind of sucks though. At least they were doing a good job for giving classes."
"But still! A year of clinical rotation wouldn't hurt, so you won't be that clueless," Minho only laughed seeing Bang Chan and his endless protests about his university. He also disagreed with the university's decision that requires to go out from their country and observe another hospital after finishing the preclinical since they held on their knowledge on theory only and zero experience about hospital and patients.
For the next day, Bang Chan from being Minho's tour guide turned into Minho's teacher.
"You see the colour? It represents the flow. Think about the rainbow, it started with red and ended with blue and purple right? Well, for this one red means it flows towards the tranducer and blue means flow away from the tranducer. Oh, you could see there's a turbulent probably caused by regurgitation." They were talking about echocardiogram that were showed in the screen in front of them. The doctor who was supposed to teach them decided to give some free time for discussion since there were some patients that needed to be echocardiogram for evaluation before surgery.
Minho nodded and wrote some notes about things that he learned from that day.
Both of them kept having so much discussions about what they learned each day, even though it was mostly Bang Chan giving some lectures to Minho.
They also shared a lot about their life in each university. Minho told him about Changbin and Bangchan told him about Han, who is also a student in the same program but in plastic surgery department. They planned to have a dinner together to introduce each other.
Changbin met Bang Chan first when he was walking with Minho from the hospital to the station.
"Hey can we wait for a sec, my friend is coming-- oh wait, there he is, OI BIN," Minho shouted, making Changbin who was searching for Minho turned his head to him.
"Is that your roomate?" Bang Chan asked and Minho nodded while looking at Changbin who was walking giddily.
"Oh hello, you must be Bang Chan," Changbin greeted while smirking, making Minho rolled his eyes.
"Yes! I'm Bang Chan, you must be Changbin. Nice to meet you," Bang Chan said. They ended up walking together to the station.
It was a routine for Minho and Bang Chan to walk together after finishing their schedule. They never talked about it though, it just naturally happened. And today Changbin decided to join since he had finished his schedule.
"I'm in the same class with Minho hyung even though I'm one year younger than him," Changbin said.
"I bet you are also as smart as Minho is since he was so fast at understanding things," Bang Chan said and Minho who heard him could only coughed while scratching his head.
Changbin who saw Minho's reaction bursted out laughing out loud, "Nah, he's smarter than me, right Hyung?"
"Shut up, Bin," Minho mumbled.
They kept walking together, mostly talking about the difference between their universities. At the station, they departed to their own way since they needed to get on different station.
"Well, I guess this is goodbye. See you tomorrow Minho, nice to meet you Changbin," Bang Chan said and waved his hand.
"Bye Chan Hyung!" Changbin said happily and walked out with Minho, Minho only waved and smiled since he knew what would happen next.
"SO...." Changbin turned his head to Minho and nudged Minho's waist using his elbow when Bang Chan already left.
Minho groaned and face palmed, "shut up."
“Is that the BANG CHAN,” Changbin said with a little bit shouting at the name.
Minho could only showed his middle finger to Changbin, making the latter laughed loudly.

“Are you free after this?” Bang Chan said when they walked out from the hospital.
“Yeah, why did you ask?”
“Wanna grab some foods?”
“Yea sure.”
They stopped in front of the restaurant from Bang Chan’s reccomendation, “I always wanted to eat here but they only accept more than one person for a portion, so I thought maybe I could ask you to eat together here.”
“Damn, he thought about me,” Minho thought.
The portion of the food was indeed a large portion, not suitable for one person. “So large, what the hell?”
Bang Chan chuckled seeing Minho’s reaction. “I actually feel confident on eating this alone.”
“Well, I could definitely see that.”
“What do you mean by that?” Bang Chan asked dramatically and raised one of his eyebrow, Minho laughed.
Bang Chan smiled seeing Minho’s reaction, he took two small cups and pour mineral water in it, handed one of the cup to Minho. “Thanks.”

“You know,” Bang Chan said after half of the food was finished, “I’m really glad I chose Cardiology department this month.”
Minho raised his eyebrows, “Why?”
“I really learned so much from this department, they taught us a lot. It is definitely better than the previous department, they kind of left us at that time.”
“Yeah, I do learn a lot in this department.”
“And thanks to this department, I could meet such a good partner like you.”
“Damn, he thought about me as a partner only,” Minho thought.

“Maybe you misheard it, Hyung. Maybe he said such a cutie partner,” Changbin said when Minho told about it at their house stay.
“Nope, definitely heard it right.”
“Well maybe, maybe—“
“Seo Changbin.”
“Okay I’ll shut up,” Changbin said and made a give up sign from his hand. Minho plopped himself to his bed, he sighed as he looked into the ceiling. “Whatever, we only have a week left anyways.”
“Too bad, I was getting really comfortable though. They let me scrub in and held the patient’s leg so they could do their job,” Changbin said. Minho snorted, “Damn you and your construction worker department.”
Let me remind you that Changbin is in Pediatric-Orthopedic department.
Changbin shrugged, “I got goosebumps when they started using the hammer, it was so cool and terrifying at the same time.”

“I’m Han!” The plan for dinner consisted of four exchange students finally happening. Minho smiled seeing the enthusiasm, three days left before the exchange finished. Changbin who was also excited, greeted Han happily.
Minho felt someone nudged his elbow, he turned his head and saw Bang Chan handed the menu. “You like salmon, right? They have this,” he said while pointing to one of the menus.
“Ooooh, that sounds so good. I’ll have that,” Minho said.
Changbin who saw all of that could only bewildered and mumbled, “good partner my ass.”
Thank God only Minho who could heard that so he kicked Changbin’s leg under the table, the others remained clueless.
They ended up eating and talking a lot though, especially Bang Chan and Changbin who kept eating nonstop.
After eating, they went to another place to play bowling that ended up Bang Chan being the winner, Minho was the second since half of his play were helped by Bang Chan (Changbin loudly said CHEATER but we don’t talk about that anyways), Han was the third, and Changbin was the last.
Han turned out to be such a funny guy. He told a story about him almost being bitten by a crocodile but he managed to scare the crocodile back, only to be corrected by Bang Chan that the true story was Han running away from the crocodile while crying and shouting.
“Saw a lot of surgeries in Plastic Surgery department, they let me went in for the half month,” Han told while munching his fries.
“What happened to the rest of the month?” Minho asked. Han seemed hesitant to answer it, “he got kicked out for breaking the sterile field.”
“Chan!”
“Damn…”
“That was one time!!”
Chan shrugged, “took them two weeks to let you in again.” Han whined and protested, “at least they gave me something to do! They told me to summarise and give a presentation about patient’s case.”
“Eh? they gave you tasks? we never got any assignment,” Minho said and turned his head to Chan for confirmation. “Yep.”
Han whined louder.
“Not fair!”

It was finally their last day, tomorrow they had to go to the airport going back to their own countries.
Minho and Changbin lived in Japan.
Han lived in Malaysia.
Bang Chan lived in Australia.
“Thank you for joining our program, we are so grateful to have you here. I hope you learn something in here,” prof. Kim said after handing the certificate as a proof that they had joined the exchange program.
“Thank you so much Professor, we learnt so much in here. I really hope we could meet and work together in the future,” Minho said and prof. kim let out a chuckle, the feeling was mutual.
“You still have so many years to find and research about your future, please consider Cardiologist as one of them.”
“Will do, prof.”
“As for you,” prof. Kim turned his head to Bang Chan. “You almost finished and will become a doctor, I know you already learn so much before you came here. I hope this program will give you deeper understanding about cardiology.”
Bang Chan nodded, they finally bidded their goodbye to the healthworker that has been helping them since day 1.
“This is so sad, I feel like I’m going to cry when I’m back,” Minho said and Bang Chan laughed looking at his reaction.
“Yeah, I’m going to miss this place so much.”
They took some photos for memories in the hospital area.
And finally, their last routine. Walking together from the hospital to the station.
“When is your departure?” Bang Chan asked.
“Tomorrow at six.”
“In the morning?”
“Yep.”
Bang Chan sulked, “too bad, mine is tonight.”
They walked together while looking at the streets, trying to save everything to their memory. Not once or twice they menaged to teased each other.
“You got lost on the first day.”
“Okay mr. I know every place and everything, now shut up. At least I never come late.”
“You’re always on time, my house stay is near to the hospital yet you’re always here first.”
Minho laughed, they finally reached their station.
Bang Chan turned his head to him, “I guess this is it?”
Minho smiled and turned his head to him, “I just want to say thank you so much for your guidance and help during the program. I can’t imagine how I would be in the hospital without you.”
Bang Chan let out a chuckle, “you’re welcome. You’re such a good partner for discussion and fast at learning things. It was so much interesting and more relaxed to do the program with you. Thank you so much.”
Minho nodded and extended his hand, Bang Chan gladly accepted his hand.
In their first meeting, Bang Chan was the first one who extended his hand. Now it was Minho’s turn.
“I hope we could see each other again in the future.”
“I really hope so.”

“Hyung,” Minho turned his head when he felt someone nudged his elbow.
“What is it Bin?”
It’s been a year after the program has ended. Now Minho and Changbin were in their clinical rotation.
“Your exchange program, it was in cardiology department, right?”
Minho raised his eyebrows, “Oh? I almost forgot about that. It’s been a year. And now I’m in cardiology rotation what the heck?”
Changbin shrugged, “I know right. How’s Bang Chan?”
Minho only looked at Changbin with flat expression, “I knew you would ask me this.”
“He disappeared after the program. Well I was also busy at that time so I didn’t really pay attention to it.
Besides, we were just students who are in the same department for a month.”
