Chapter Text
The weather was warm, awfully warm. The air was dry, an abundance of sand and dust in the air from when cars drove by. Yet despite this, vivid BAD SQUAD was out practicing for their upcoming liveshow. It was a big one, they managed to hit a good gig a little out of town.
''Great work everyone! Let's take a break!'' An said, stretching a little bit as they just finished the last part chorus of the song. To her side was Akito, clearly out of breath from the constant heat of sunlight shining right in his face.
''Finally, it feels as if my lungs are going to combust any second now… too bad I didn't bring any water with me.''
''I have some water if you want to borrow, Shinonome-kun!'' Kohane, standing by a bench not too far away, picked up her water bottle. She walked up and handed it to Akito. “You need to stop forgetting to bring water with you, Shinonome-kun… especially with how warm it’s been these past couple of weeks.”
“Yeah, yeah. I know.” Akito sighed in annoyance as he took the water bottle from Kohane, gulping it down.
Toya, sitting down by the bench where Kohane previously was, is going through the lyrics of the song they just sung. ''Shiraishi, can you help me go over the last chorus? I'm having some trouble with the high notes…''
“Yeah, sure! Just give me a minute…” she said as she fidgeted with the mics and speakers. Clearly trying to do something, but isn’t working the way she wants it to.
As you can see, it's just a normal regular very average day for them. This one park has been occupied by this group basically everyday, mostly because of how secluded it is. In case any of the virtual singers decided to pop up on their phone, there wouldn’t be anyone around to see it.
Akito handed the water bottle back to Kohane, the sun was too bright - he groaned as he covered his eyes with his hands.
“Kohane, do you also have any painkillers? I think I have a headache coming up…”
“Yeah, I do, but at this rate with how many you’re taking everyday I’m going to run out… are you ok? I don’t think that’s normal…” Kohane worriedly said as she took her small bag from the bench and took out some painkillers to give to Akito.
''I'm fine, it's just a headache.'' Akito takes the painkillers and swallows them with the borrowed water. ''I just need to rest, that's all.''
''You sure? I'm not that knowledgeable in the medical field but this might be a concern you may wanna take up with a doctor.. the amount of headaches that you've been having isn't normal.''
Toya walked up to them and placed a hand on Akitos shoulder. His face, while not that expressive, clearly also had a worried look. ''I agree with Azusawa. I think it's best if you see a doctor... we don't want you to end up getting possibly worse.''
"Toya, I'm fine. I’m probably just getting these headaches from the heat of this damn weather and possibly stress from our upcoming gig. Tho a break would be nice..”
An, who gave up with the mic and speakers, walked up to the group ''Wow, Akito acknowledging the fact that he needs a break? That's new!''
''An, shut up please. You're making my headache worse from your blabbering mouth.''
"Wow, how rude!'' She lightly smacked him on his arm. “But seriously tho, those headaches aren’t a good sign.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know.” Akito sighed “I might take a break from practicing tomorrow, hope that's alright.”
An nodded and smiled “Fine by me! you definitely need it.”
“I agree with Shiraishi, Akito. With how much effort you’ve been putting in you deserve to rest and take a break.” Toya said, removing his hand from Akitos shoulder much to Akitos dismay.
“I also agree, you can take a break right now while the rest of us finish up the setlist if that's alright with you?” Kohane asked, seemingly having walked over to where the mics were and picking hers up.
“Yeah, it’s fine by me. I’ll just go and sit down by the bench or… something.” Akito said, Toya and An nodded to that as they both walked over to where Kohane was to pick up their mics and continue the setlist.
Akito looked at them for a moment, before walking over to the bench and sat down. To his luck, the bench was under a tree. The shade blocking the sunlight from hitting his face. He took some deep breaths, trying to steady his breathing. He closed his eyes as well, trying his hardest to relax as much as possible so that his headache wouldn't get worse.
He is tired, and he wants to go home.
Thoughts started clamping into his brains, telling him that maybe Kohane and Toya were right. That he should go and check in with a doctor to make sure that he's ok. But another nagging part of him says that he doesn't need to. It's a waste of time, you're ok.
Just rest.
Akito sighed as he opened his eyes. The sun was blaring right in his face this time, the shade from the tree was gone causing him to squint. Some sweat formed on his forehead, and he could feel his teammates' eyes on him.
… How long did he have his eyes closed for?
First one to speak up was Toya. '' … Akito, are you ok? You've been out for about an hour. We're all finished for today.'' He sat down beside him. Same worried expression he had earlier.
Akito leaned sideways a bit, so his head landed on Toya's shoulder. He didn’t notice it, but some red blush was spread out on Toya’s cheeks. The only word he could muster out of his throat was a quiet ''tired…'' before closing his eyes again.
''Wh- don't fall asleep when you've just woken up! We need to get you home first!'' An exclaimed, firmly patting Akito's head so that he'd be knocked out from his sudden tiredness. ''Don't make me call my dad, or your sister! It wouldn't be nice getting a scolding from either of them…''
''Ok, ok! I'm awake!'' Akito scowled as he slowly leaned up again from Toyas shoulder, waving An's arm away from him. He stood up, Toya doing the same.
''I can walk you home if you'd like, I don't want you to end up passing out or anything…'' Toya said, patting Akito on the shoulder gently.
''Yeah, I'd appreciate that.. thanks partner.''
''Let's all head home then! Make sure to rest, Akito.'' An said as she picked up her bag, Kohane and Toya were doing the same thing. ''Our gig is in 3 weeks anyway, so take the rest of this week of, you need it''
''I will, don't worry.''
-
Akito was laying in his bed. It was a Wednesday, but he had been let out earlier from school due to a migraine.
His room was dark, he had a wet towel on his head and he had a disgusting nagging feeling of needing to puke all the time. Along with the fact that half of his face was in terrible pain.
It felt like someone had put a knife through the left side of his head, and he was a sobbing mess because of this. Regular no-migraine Akito would've told himself to get over it , that it wasn't a big deal . But considering the fact that he is in the most undesirable pain ever, he really couldn't give a single flying fuck. He just wanted this to be over with.
Ena was out with her friends, leaving him alone for the time being. Which fucking sucked because he needed to change the towel but he couldn't even stand up without possibly puking all over the place, so he just had to lay there with a wet, disgustingly warm towel on his head. His clothes were sticky from sweat, and he could even feel his own skin and bones.
Fuck it, he cannot deal with this anymore.
He needed to change this god damn towel before he went insane.
With a large amount of stubbornness and some force, he sat up on his bed. The towel fell down onto his lap, but he picked it up before his pajama pants could get wet from the water. With a bit more force he was able to stand up, but had to stabilize himself by holding onto the nightstand right beside his bed.
''Well this is gonna be difficult…'' Akito thought to himself, but he was going to make it to the bathroom no matter what.
He slowly started walking, taking some steps towards his bedroom door. Before he even had the chance to open the door, he could feel something trying to come up his throat…
goddammit..!
Akito threw his bedroom door open before making a beeline towards the bathroom. He threw open the door, took up the toilet seat before instantly crouching down and throwing up. It was literal hell.
It only took a few seconds for the puking to stop. He took long, shaky breaths as he recovered from the suddenness of everything. His headache was gone.. well not really, but it wasn’t unbearable anymore. He stood up, flushed the toilet before going over to the sink to wash his mouth.
He looked at himself in the mirror. He was a mess . Literally. His hair was all over the place, his eyes were gloomy and tired looking, his whole body was wobbly and a bit shaky as well.
Akito took a deep breath, before letting out a small sigh.
‘If only Toya was here… maybe also An and Kohane…’
He thought. He really wanted to see his friends- but he also didn’t want to bother them. He shook his head before walking back into his room.
The towel he was supposed to change was on the floor, making a small puddle below it. Akito grumbled angrily before hastily picking up the towel, walking back into the bathroom, quickly making it cold again, before walking back into his room, closing the door before immediately flopping down on his bed, putting the now cold towel on his head.
He was tired. So, so, tired. He couldn’t help but close his eyes- no thoughts in his head. Just a hope that all of this will be over. He couldn’t let this get in the way of his training. Surpassing RAD WEEKEND was right around the corner, he could feel it. He just needs to suck it up and just get over these damn headaches.
…
But this isn’t the end, Nor will this suffering be over anytime soon.
