In a small house on the edge of the Southern Baronies, a rabbit and her daughter, along with the daughter’s Chao, are preparing to head out.
Rabbit: Alright, Cream, I want you and Cheese to be back by sundown, alright?
Cream: We will! Goodbye, mother!
With that, Cream runs off, with Cheese flying after her. As they do, Cream’s mother watches them go with a smile on her face. Suddenly, she notices a familiar red-headed woman approaching her.
Rabbit: Can I help you, ma’am?
Katella: Well, that depends. Your name wouldn’t happen to be Vanilla, would it?
Vanilla: It is, yes. Why?
Katella: Well, I heard you were here, and I just had to come and see you! After all, it’s not every day you get to meet the Queen of the Moon.
Vanilla: And where exactly did you hear that from, miss?
Katella: Why, Dr. Eggman, of course! He’s very excited to meet you.
Vanilla: I see. Very well then.
With that, Vanilla begins fighting with Katella, with the rabbit holding her own against the huntress.
Katella: Not bad for an old woman!
Vanilla: If you don’t want to see my best, I’d recommend you leave at once.
Katella: Not a chance!
The fight continues, with Vanilla getting the upper hand. Before the fight can finish, however, Vanilla is struck in the back of the head by Heavy, knocking her unconscious.
Katella: Hmph! I had things under control.
Heavy: Obviously. Come on, we must get the rabbit to the Doctor as soon as possible.
Katella: I’m not sure what he wants with her, honestly.
Heavy: That doesn’t matter. We have our orders, and we must carry them out. The why is irrelevant.
Katella: If you say so…
With that, Heavy picks up the unconscious Vanilla, before he and Katella head off, not noticing a brown Chao flying off as they do.

Meanwhile, the Freedom Fighters make their way through a forest.
Sally: Alright, if the local reports are correct, there should be badnik activity in this area.
Sonic: Man, what’s Eggman up to this time?
Sally: I don’t know. But whatever it is, it can’t be good.
Sonic: You got that right. That’s why we’ve gotta stop him! C’mon!
The heroes begin making their way through the area, defeating the badniks and coming across several medals as they do. After picking up seven of them, a portal opens up.
Sonic: Woah! Guess Omni fixed what was up with the Special Zone. Be right back!
Sonic jumps into the portal. After a few minutes, he returns, with a Chaos Emerald in hand.
Sonic: Got it! Let’s keep moving.
Afterwards, the heroes continue on. Eventually, they come across Snively in an Eggmobile.
Sonic: Yo, Needlenose!
Snively: Oh. It’s you. Again.
Sonic: You know it! Look, we don’t gotta fight. Just tell us what Eggman’s up to, and we’ll let you go. Promise!
Snively: That’s none of your concern, hedgehog. This, on the other hand…
Snively presses a button, calling a mech with a tank on it to roll in, with Snively inserting the Eggmobile into it. Afterwards, he begins driving around the area, trying to attack the heroes with the hammer. Eventually, after enough blows to the machine, Snively begins using the hammer to try and slam the body of the machine onto the heroes. Eventually, the machine is defeated, and Snively retreats.
Sonic: Alright, now I know something weird’s going on. Let’s keep moving!
Sonic Advance 2 - Leaf Forest | Silent Dreams Remix
The heroes continue on their way, defeating more badniks as they go. Suddenly, they hear someone screaming. They run over, where they see Cream and Cheese being held by a robotic hand, connected to a machine driven by Agent Stone.
Cream: P-Please let us go!
Stone: Sorry, but the Doctor wants you at his base, and I’ve never been one to tell him no. And look on the bright side, you’ll see your mom again. That’s why you came here, right?
Sonic: Hey!
Stone turns to the Freedom Fighters.
Sonic: Drop the kid, Stone.
Stone: You know I can’t do that, Sonic. If you want the girl, you’ll have to come and get her.

With that, Stone drives off, with Sonic in pursuit. As Sonic runs after Stone, he uses a hammer to try and attack the hedgehog. Eventually, Sonic is able to defeat the machine, with Stone flying off and Cream grabbing onto Sonic’s quills, before he comes to a stop, with the other Freedom Fighters catching up to them.
Sonic: You alright, kid?
Cream: Wow! You’re the famous Mr. Sonic! Thank you very much for saving me!
Cream bows to the hedgehog.
Sonic: Uh, you’re welcome. What were you doing here, anyway?
Cream: Oh! That’s right! My Mother was kidnapped by Dr. Eggman, so I came here to try and save her! You save people all the time, so I thought I could too!
Sonic: Look, kid, I get wanting to help out your mom, but what you did was way too dangerous, especially for someone without any powers like us!
Cream: I have powers! Look!
Cream then jumps into the air, before using her ears to hover for a moment, before landing back on the ground.
Sonic: Okay, that’s… impressive, but if you can’t deal with badniks-
Just then, Cheese notices a badnik approaching them, before he charges into it, completely destroying it. Afterwards, he flies back over to Cream, not noticing the stunned looks on the Freedom Fighters faces.
Cream: I think Cheese can handle them. So, can I join? Please?
Sonic: Uh… one minute, kid.
Sonic and the others all get into a group huddle.
Sonic: So, what do we think?
Sally: I don’t know, Sonic. She’s still pretty young.
Sonic: So was Tails, and he turned out fine! I say we give her a chance!
Tails: Yeah, Sonic’s right!
Sally: Well… alright, I guess it’s worth a shot.
Sonic: Sweet!
Sonic then approaches Cream again.
Sonic: Alright kid, you can come with us. But if things get bad, you gotta get in the clear, alright?
Cream: I can do that! Thank you, Mr. Sonic!
Sonic: No problem. Now come on, let’s go save your mom!
With that, Sonic and the Freedom Fighters, along with Cream and Cheese, run off.
Secret Base Zone - Sonic Advance [NEW REMIX] | Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Eventually, the heroes arrive at the outside of a factory that seems to be built into a volcano.
Sonic: Huh. Little early for the secret base, but I’m not complaining. C’mon, let’s go pay Egghead a visit.
The heroes infiltrate the base, destroying badniks as they go. Eventually, they come across Snively again.
Snively: Wha- you’re here?! Already?!
Sonic: I know, right? Eggman’s usually better at hiding these things! Speaking of, you think we could check in with him?
Snively: Not a chance, rodent! You may have gotten to the base, but you’ll never leave it alive!
With that, Snively flies up, before crashing back down in a mech with a spring on the bottom, attached to a press. Snively begins hopping around the room, trying to crush the heroes, occasionally jumping high into the air to try and land on them. Eventually, the Freedom Fighters defeat Snively, causing him to retreat.

Afterwards, the heroes continue onwards, defeating more badniks and grabbing another Chaos Emerald as they do. Eventually, they come across Stone in another machine.
Stone: Ah, you’re here. Snively told me you were coming.
Sonic: Well, ain’t that nice of him? Now do you know where Eggman is, or not?
Stone: Sorry to say, but the doctor isn’t here. I hope you’ll find me an acceptable challenge.
Sonic Advance 2 - Zone Boss | Silent Dreams' 2022 Remix
With that, the battle begins, with Stone firing bombs at the Freedom Fighters from a turret on his tank, with the heroes attacking the turret as he does. Eventually, the turret breaks off, with Stone firing the bombs from the hole left behind. Eventually, the tank is defeated, with Stone fleeing.
Sonic: Alright, we reached the base, but there’s no Eggman. So if Eggman’s not here, then where is he?
Sally: Let’s find out.
Sally pulls out Nicole, before plugging her into a nearby computer. Afterwards, she reads the information downloaded.
Sally: Oh my gosh!
Tails: What is it?
Sally: According to this, Robotnik has a satellite set up around the moon!
Tails: The moon? What’s he doing up there?
Sonic: Well, he already blew up half of the thing. Maybe he’s trying to finish the job.
Sally: I don’t think so. If these schematics are correct, it looks like he’s been augmenting the moon with his technology.
Cream: Do you think he’s trying to fix it?
Sonic: Maybe. But Eggman having something like the moon under his control can’t be good. Let’s go make sure he doesn’t get too far.
With that, the heroes leave the base.
Sonic Advance - Casino Paradise (Act 2) Remix
Eventually, they end up at a large theater filled with instruments.
Sonic: Wow… I’ve never seen a place like this before! C’mon, let’s go check this place out!
The heroes begin to make their way around the theater, defeating badniks and grabbing another Chaos Emerald as they do. Eventually, they come across Snively again.
Without another word, the battle begins, with Snively sending his Eggmobile into various barrels around the area. As he does, a large spike ball does the same, trying to hit the heroes. Eventually, they are able to defeat Snively by attacking his Eggmobile.
Sonic Advance 2 - Music Plant Zone (Techno Cinema Remix)
Afterwards, the heroes continue onwards, defeating more badniks and using the various instruments around the theater to get around the area. Eventually, they come across Stone in another machine.
Sonic Advance 2 - Zone Boss | Silent Dreams' 2022 Remix
The battle begins, with Stone sending out platforms with spikes on them, with turrets emerging from them to fire at the heroes. They are able to use the platform to attack Stone, eventually defeating him and causing him to retreat.
Sonic: Alright! We should come back here later. You know, when we don’t have to worry about Eggman. Let’s keep going!
With that, the heroes make their way out of the theater.
Cream: Mother, I hope you’re alright…
Meanwhile, on Eggman’s space base, Vanilla is sitting in a cell, guarded by Katella. Just then, Eggman enters the room.
Eggman: Katella, I want to talk with the prisoner alone.
Katella: Are you sure? You might need some back-up in case she tries anything.
Eggman: I can take care of myself. Now go.
As Katella leaves, Eggman grabs her shoulder.
Eggman: You know, Katella, Heavy told me about how the retrieval went, and I have to say I’m disappointed. After all, what kind of huntress can’t defeat an old lady?
Katella: Doctor, I-
Eggman: Save it. We’ll discuss your performance later.
With that, Katella leaves in a huff as Eggman enters the cell.
Eggman: Good evening, Ms. Vanilla! I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay here.
Vanilla: Well, I suppose it hasn’t been too unpleasant, minus the assault and kidnapping, of course.
Eggman: Ah, yes, terribly sorry about that. But you see, I really needed to see you, and, well, I doubt you would have accepted a written invitation.
Vanilla: But why? What do you want from me?
Eggman: I’m glad you asked! You see, while I was busy repairing the moon, I came across something very interesting: a temple, with an entrance covered in words in an alien language. Now, it took a bit of work, but I was able to decipher the words. Apparently, only a “moon rabbit” can enter the temple and “access the power inside”. Now that got me curious, so I did a little digging, and it turns out, there was a race of rabbits that lived on the moon, now long extinct of course… with one exception. The royal family had migrated to Mobius and settled down there, leading to them having multiple descendants who lived all over the world… one of which was your husband, Ice the Rabbit, correct?
Vanilla: Ah, I see. Well, if you’re hoping I can unlock that temple for you, I’m afraid you’re out of luck. I was born and raised here on Mobius, unlike my husband. I couldn’t open it if I wanted to.
Eggman: Oh, I know that. But your daughter, on the other hand…
Vanilla: What?
Eggman: You see, when I sent Katella and Heavy to your happy little home, I was actually hoping to grab your little girl. Unfortunately, I missed my chance, I figured I’d grab you for insurance.
Vanilla: I swear, if you harm her-
Eggman: Oh, don’t worry, ma’am. I won’t hurt a hair on her head… if she does what I want, that is!
With that, Eggman leaves, laughing.
