“Mash-ter,” baby Cheonhee cooed sadly.

“Ish, rainy…” Baby Cheonhee said, listening to the sound outside.

Jaegal Lin and baby Cheonhee had just woken up, and baby Cheonhee was listening to the pitter-patter of the rain while Jaegal Lin combed his hair.

“Yes, baby,” Jaegal Lin nodded. “It’s raining.”

Jaegal Lin fixed his clothes, and baby Cheonhee pouted.

“Why, rainy?” Baby Cheonhee sulked.

“Hee, wanna, play…”

“I know, Hee… But if you play in the rain, you might get sick,” Jaegal Lin coaxed. He had finished his morning routine and sat on the bed next to Cheonhee.

“Since it’s raining, I ordered the staff to bring our breakfast here,” Jaegal Lin added. “We can have breakfast in bed…. What do you think?”

“O-kay… Will, rainy, stop?” Baby Cheonhee asked hopefully.

“Hmm…” Jaegal Lin peeked out of the window.

“Maybe…. It’s hard to say for sure,” Jaegal said.

Baby Cheonhee sulked and called for his Master to give him a hug. Jaegal Lin didn’t need to be asked twice. He embraced Cheonhee in his arms, patting Cheonhee’s back.

When he heard a knock on the door, Jaegal Lin opened the door and thanked the person, bringing in their breakfast. He was going to have breakfast in bed with baby Cheonhee!

When breakfast was over, the rain had thankfully stopped.

Baby Cheonhee had been so excited, bouncing up and down on Jaegal Lin’s lap as he demanded to go outside.

“Rainy, byebye!” Baby Cheonhee grinned victoriously, as if he was the one who had chased away the rain.

Jaegal Lin laughed at his disciple’s antics, tidied up the plates, and carried his baby outside.

As Jaegal Lin carried baby Cheonhee to his study, walking on the grass, Jaegal Lin took a deep breath.

“Do you like that smell, Hee?” Jaegal Lin asked.

“Hm?” Baby Cheonhee tilted his head.

“It’s the smell of grass after rain,” Jaegal Lin explained. “Do you like it?”

Baby Cheonhee took a curious sniff.

Once, twice.

“Hm, ish, o-kay….” Baby Cheonhee shrugged. “Hee, like, Mash-ter, morrr!”

“Hmm,” Jaegal Lin couldn’t stop a smile from blooming on his face.

“I like the smell of grass after rain, Hee,” Jaegal Lin explained. “It smells like fresh beginnings, you know?”

“Fwesh, bee-gin?” Cheonhee repeated.

“Yes,” Jaegal Lin nodded, stroking Cheonhee’s hair.

Jaegal’s walking, though, came to an abrupt stop.

“Hee, look!” Jaegal pointed in the distance.

“Ah?” Baby Cheonhee looked at the place Jaegal was pointing.

“Sky…?” Baby Cheonhee asked questioningly.

“No, no, look at those colors over there,” Jaegal explained.

!!

Baby Cheonhee’s eyes widened.

“Colors!! Wat’s dat, Mash-ter?” Baby Cheonhee squealed.

“That’s a rainbow,” Jaegal Lin chuckled.

“Wain, bow?” Cheonhee echoed, entranced by the beautiful arc in the sky.

“Ish, pwetty!” Baby Cheonhee giggled cheerfully.

“Do you like it?” Jaegal Lin asked, and baby Cheonhee didn’t hesitate to nod his head.

“That’s good,” Jaegal Lin smiled, already planning on getting Cheonhee a rainbow.

“I heard people say that rainbows mean hope,” Jaegal Lin murmured.

“Hope?” Baby Cheonhee cooed, giggling a little.

“Yes, hope… But really…” Jaegal Lin ruffled baby Cheonhee’s hair.

“My source of hope is you.”

That day, Jaegal Lin ordered Yooho, the most overworked person in the White Dragon Clinic, to make him a prism and white slate.

The next morning, Jaegal Lin had prepared a “rainbow” by the window, using the sunlight, the prism, and the white slate as a background for the rainbow.

When baby Cheonhee woke up and saw the rainbow, he couldn’t help laughing in delight, making Jaegal Lin laugh as well. Baby Cheonhee found it an extreme novelty and sat next to the window, touching the “rainbow” and giggling at the various colors.

“Ish pwetty, Mash-ter,” baby Cheonhee said for the nth time.

“I know, Hee…. I’m glad you like it,” Jaegal Lin said indulgently.

“Thank-you! Mash-ter!” Baby Cheonhee giggled.

“Anything for you, Hee. Anything for you…”
