Work Text:
"Study this until tomorrow. Your recital will be graded," Niko said while handing out copies of Daffodils by William Wordsworth.
"What if I don't?" you asked cockily as he reached your desk.
He rested his hands on the table and looked at you over the rim of his glasses. "If you don't," he started in a low voice. "I will have to pick something else for your oral exam. But that will take longer than reciting these" - he glanced at the sheet - "four paragraphs, so I advise you to study this poem instead. It's less trouble."
He gave you a subtle smirk as he put the sheet on your desk and you bit your lip, knowing very well what he meant by 'oral exam'. You decided right then and there that you were going to discard the paper as soon as you left the classroom.
