Chapter Text
Every morning the caravan would be still in the forest until they woke up and headed back on the road. Though this morning something was off. The caravan was already on its way.
Hugo stirred up in confusion. Did he over sleep? He was just about to get out of bed when a powerful cramp hit him, causing him to double over.
Soon enough he was fully aware on his surroundings.
He was bloated
His chest hurt
He felt slightly irritable.
'Oh shit'
He knew what was going on
In a hurry he looked under the covers.
And there it was. A pool of red.
Slowly panic set in.
("Crap crap crap craaaap") his head chanted. He wasnt prepared. No one else knew about it. He didnt even think to bring any supplies! Idiot!
He was to scared to get up, he could leave a puddle!
He sat there frantically trying to think of what to do.
Then he remembered nuru. Of course! She should know what to do!
He heard her talking with varian and yong infront of the caravan, he was gonna have to find a way to get the other guys out the way without looking suspicious.
He dreadingly stood up. He could just feel the blood pooling in his underwear. Fuck that was uncomfortable. He noticed the huge stain on his pajamas and wrapped himself in his blanket flustered. He made his way to the front of the caravan. Holy hell he could feel the blood dripping.
HUGO
He cracked open the door and peaked through. Varian looked like he was just about to stop prometheus, Yong was obviously distracted with a box of matches- typical, And nuru was mending her telescope. They were headed to an astronomy site. The air kingdoms meteor showers could have a scientific explanation, right? Back on track. If hugo wanted to steal nurus attention for a while, he would have to wait until they set up camp. Until then, hugo leaned on the door, just bleeding out with the occasional cramp.
VARIAN
"And we stop... here." Varian instructed prometheus. Close enough to the site so they wouldnt have to travel that long on foot, but far away enough so they wouldnt be on property. Now it was to to set up camp, but varian just noticed something.
Hugo wasnt out side with them. He sent yong to check on him earlier, but apparently he was still asleep. Last nights mission couldnt have been that draining, could it?
Either way, they had to set up anyway. He would just hold on to hugos breakfast.
They finished setting up camp. Varian glanced at nuru, who was sitting at the front of the caravan. He then noticed a pale trembling hand reaching out and tap her on the shoulder. He heard a weak whimper, but best he could make out was "nuru......see you inside..........urgent..."
By the pale hand alone he could tell it was hugo. I mean who else would it be!? What puzzeld him was the fact hugos hand shook and trembled, and his voice sounded like he was in pain. And why he would ask to see nuru of all people? The two bickered endlessly. What ever was going on, varian was suspicious.
NURU
They had just set up camp, and nuru was resting on the caravan porch when there was a tap on her shoulder. It was hugo, trembling. He whimpered out a plea, his voice shaky. "Nuru. Can i see you inside privately? Its urgent..."
Nuru was puzzeled on what was wrong, and why he was asking her of all people. Even though she had no idea what was up, she went in.
Frankly she was shocked with what she saw. Hugo clutching his abdomen while wrapped in a blanket. His face was tear stained and exhausted, and he looked ready to pass out. By the looks of it he'd been there for hours.
"Holy crap... youre a mess! Are you okay?" She reached out attempting to hold his shoulders, but he just shuddered and doubled over.
"Hugo... whats wrong?" She asked, trying to be as gentle as possible.
"Well, i might aswell show you..."
He slowly moved his blanket out the way, revealing his pajamas, his pants drenched in blood, a tiny puddle at his feet.
"Hugo... are you... having..."
"Yes"
Well clearly he knew what she was gonna ask, and the answer was yes, he was on his period.
"H-.....how?"
He glanced at the door, clearly uncomfortable with saying it there.
"Can we talk somewhere else?"
HUGO
They found a secluded spot in the caravan
"Ok... so i dont really tell people this but im to desperate to care." He shivered
"Im.........uh,"
"Well i happen to be..."
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-"
"Hugo spit it out"
"Isohappentobeintersexsoihavemaleandfemaleanatomymeaningihaveaperiodeverymonthanditstartedtodayandidonthaveanythingwithmeimnotpreparedsoineedyourhelpandidontwanttheoyherstoknow."
Yikes what a dump
Nuru looked like she was processing all that info when it finally hit her
"Oh!"
"Pleasetellmeyouhavesupplies"
"Calm down i do, its just... why dont you want varian and yong to know?"
"Its just... i dont feel... comfortable with sharing things like this. I... just..." he felt so ashamed of himself. He didnt know why though.
"I see..." she assured "you dont have to share things you dont want to. Back to the root problem, stay here."
She went to her part of the caravan and came back with a tiny basket full with supplies.
"Here" she said sincerely
"Oh thank god" hugo exhaled. He couldnt express his gratitude enough.
They heard varian and yong calling them outside
"GUYS ITS TIME TO GO TO THE SITE LETS GOOOOOo!!!" Yong squeled.
"Well you might wanna clean up before you go," nuru suggested "also, you wont feel to peachy on an empty stomach. Varians been holding onto your breakfast."
"Oh." Damn did varian really care? "Ill be out soon."
HUGO
First things first, hugo had to do was wipe tbe floors before the blood stains got stuck. After cleaning he cleaned himself up, holy fuck was he drenched.
He got himself together and walked out the caravan. It was slightly chilly and dark. He was inside up till then.
"Hugos out!" Yong exclaimed as he saw him.
"Yep im sure out" he didnt really know what to say after not seeing them for half a day.
"Ive held on to your breakfast," varian said holding out a plate. "hopefully its not cold.
"Thanks, goggles." A sly smile appeared on his face. Holy hell he loved that guy.
After hugo ate they headed to the site. Hugo lagged behind a bit, pretty tired. Only an occasional cramp hit him from time to time.
