Chapter Text
It was the morning after, he and Annabeth had spoken of their feelings. They had kissed and nothing happened after that. Percy wasn't sure if he had feelings for her, and he knew that she was in the same boat. In a way after the war, it was kind of expected for them to be the couple that overcame.
This was something that they wanted to take slow and see if the feelings were real, or if they were the height of the war.
There was a knock at his door. He got up and went and opened it, Annabeth was standing outside. She was biting her lip as if there was something that she wanted to say but could not.
"Chiron needs us at the Big House." She said, "I am not sure why but he has also called over Thalia and Nico. They should be waiting for us there."
Percy nodded.
They had been through so much. And yet he could not get a word out of his mouth. It felt awkward.
Percy stepped out of his cabin and closed the door. The next three minutes to the Big House were silent. It felt nice to be walking with Annabeth and not have to try and find an explanation to what they were.
When they arrived at the Big House, Thalia and Nico were standing outside, they didn't seem to know why Chiron was gathering them.
"Percy, Annabeth, do you guys know why Chiron has asked us to gather here?" Thalia asked.
Annabeth shook her head, "I was just asked to get Percy. As we would all be needed."
They heard steps behind them. Turning back Chiron and Mr. D were walking over and they did not have a smile on their faces.
"I'm glad you are all gathered here. Let us go in and not keep our guest waiting because she is not a patient woman." Chiron said.
That threw all of them off. But they followed.
Percy asked, "Chiron, is there a reason that you have gathered us here?"
"There is a prophecy-"
They all froze and stopped walking.
"-while it does not name you all-"
Relief settled.
"-your services will be needed." Chiron said.
Mr. D snorted. "What he means Peter Johnson is that you are going on a quest for none other than-"
"Me." She was beautiful standing in front of them. Lady Hecate. "Come and sit."
Mr. D looked annoyed at being interrupted, he plopped down on one of the couches. Chiron stood to the side, while the demigods decided to sit together on one of the bigger couches leaving Hecate standing in front of them.
Percy was trying so hard not to snap. "What kind of quest are you referring to?"
The snark was too much to keep out of his mouth, which only gained an elbow to his side from Annabeth.
"Young Perseus-"
"Percy."
"-as you know mythology is inspired from reality. We once had no shame showing ourselves to mortals. Now we have a mist to protect. In a world, where gods and monsters are real. It should be no surprise that there would be other branches. For my domain magic has its own versions of witches and wizards."
"Witches and wizards real?" Nico's eyes widened.
"Yes, and they are currently at war. A young man known as Harry Potter, has a prophecy that he has to complete."
Thalia crossed her arms. "So what are we doing here? It's not our prophecy. Why in Hades name would it be our problem, it's not even our world that we need to deal with."
Honestly, Percy couldn't blame her, he didn't want to do this. She had just gotten her life back, and they had just finished their big prophecies and Rachel had already sprouted another. And now this.
Annabeth frowned.
Hecate chuckled. "This is not just about the prophecy that intertwines the wizarding world, but the one Rachel has given."
"No." Percy said. "We have done our prophecy. The next big prophecy is for the next generation.”
"if only it was that easy." Hecate responded. "This has to do with the balance of magic in the wizarding world. What you guys WILL be going and doing is making sure that Harry Potter does not die, make sure that he does not steer off the road of going evil. You, demigods, will be maintaining a balance of dark and light magic."
Hecate continued. "This is something that you will accomplish. For Apollo has seen a destruction of the borders between mortals and mythical beings. And in the end humanity is not weak, not now with atomic bombs and all the destruction they are willing to bring."
While Hecate continued explaining the quest and what they would be needing to do. Percy zoned out, this was not what he wanted, he wanted to complete his next two years of high school in peace, Paul had gotten him accepted at Goode High School. His future had been looking bright, he would graduate and figure out whatever he and Annabeth were. He had survived for gods' sake.
