Chapter 1: Date with some Drama

Chapter Text

Freddy sat on the couch in his greenroom, along with Chica, Monty, and Roxanne. Monty and Chica were sitting next to him while Roxanne was fixing her makeup in his mirror for their  date, as today was the only day in a while where the Pizzaplex was closed for the public. They never had the day off and weren't going to waste the opportunity.

"So...where are we gonna have our...you know? Our date?" said Chica, who was holding onto one of Montys arms.

Freddy immediately voiced his suggestion. "I was thinking perhaps Fazerblast! Having a good game with my superstars seems like a very good choice!", he said enthusiastically. "Or perhaps we could we could go to the Fazcade and see who can get the most points! Or even have a dance off with the DJ!" He wouldn't mind either option, as any time spent with his loved ones was time he'd cherish.

"Well, I was thinking that perhaps Mazerice or Montys golf course. I mean, both involve getting a physical workout, and that just sounds so lovely ~. Don't you agree, Monty?" Chica said, scratching Montys chin, which enlisted a groan from the alligator,  his long tail swishing around.

"Of course, my amor~ "," he said, succumbing to the chickens touch.

At that moment, Roxanne finished her makeup and turned around in the chair, brushing her hair to the side.

"Well, I was thinking my raceway would be the best choice, although I guess your guys' ideas could be... good."

"Aww, Roxanne is finally being nice for once!" Monty snickered, to which the wolf glared daggers at the alligator. He brushed aside her gaze.

"Monty, I love you, but you can be a real pain in the ass sometimes." She scoffed at him and got up and sat on Freddy's lap.

"Well, THAT makes sense, cuz you know, my giantass-"

*slap*

"Ouch, Chica!". Monty rubbed the part of his face where she had slapped him.

"No sexual comments!". She turned the other way...only to quickly give Monty a kiss on his cheek. He grinned hungrily and proceeded to smoother the chicken with smooches, knocking her down on the couch, Chica giggling all the while. Freddy sighed. Oh, how he loved those twos antics.

"As much as I love that you two are enjoying yourselves, it seems as though we are still at an impass on where we should go," Freddy said.

Suddenly, they heard a knock on the door. Chica and Monty immediately sat up as Vanessa walked into the room.

"Sorry I'm late, traffic was horrible but Gregory's at school now and....am I interrupting something?"

Montys face flushed,  "N-no! We're just uhh figuring out where to go for our date today!"

"Oh right, your guy's date. And how's that going for you?"Vanessa asked the group.

"We have not figured out where we should go yet. Perhaps a different opinion would help us if you do not mind Vanessa." Freddy hoped that her answer would solve this little situation they had going on.

Vanessa took a moment to think, leaving the group in suspense. If she didn't have any idea, Freddy reluctantly guessed that maybe just rolling a dice to decide would be good enough.

"Perhaps Bonnie Bowl? I'm sure Bonnie wouldn't mind letting you guys have your date there."

The silence that followed made it obviously clear that there was a reason why that they had brought up Bonnie Bowl... or why Bonnie himself wasn't even with them in the first place.  Freddy had not told anyone else what had happened between him and Bonnie, but if it had to be said, then he would get it over quickly.

"Well, I have not told anyone this yet but, me and Bonnie have had recently a...falling out. I do not know exactly what made this occur, but a couple of days ago, he had cut off our relationship for unknown reasons. I have tried to ask him what exactly caused it. I thought the fact that perhaps the relationship I was in with Roxy, Chica, and Monty was the cause, but we had already discussed it before and he had consented, so that could not have been it. He did not say anything anyway."

After finishing, Vanessa did not speak for a while. Freddy thought that she was just organizing the thoughts in her head first.

"I'm sorry Freddy that that happened, but in my honest opinion, it just seems like you two really just need to sit down and really try to talk things out. Don't let him keep on trying to get away from the discussion you keep trying to have with him.  But that's my two cents."

Freddy took to heart what Vanessa had said and would think about her words. Right now, however,  he realized that his situation with Bonnie was taking priority over he and his superstars' date.

"I am super sorry. I just realized that my situation has steered us off course. I apologize."

Chica gave Freddy a hug, the same with Roxy as she leaned over and hugged him. Monty reached over and laid a hand on his shoulder. Freddy felt so loved at that moment.

After a moment, they stopped, and Chica looked him in his eyes. He stared back at them.

"Oh, Freddy, you should have told us. We would have helped whatever was going on between you two."

"I know, and I am sorry. I should have realized that I can tell you guys what is going on and that I do not have to deal with this alone. Again,  I am sorry."

Monty stood up and walked over to the door, looking back at Freddy. " It's fine, Freddy.  Now let's go to Bonnie Bowl so that you can talk with him. "

After he stopped speaking,  Freddy could swear he heard Monty say something under his breath.  Something along the lines of "I always knew that he would break your heart."

"Wait, what about our date? I do not want my situation to interfere!"

Roxy gave him a look. "Freddy, look. We want to help you since you're important to us. Besides, we can have our date another day, even if other people would have to be there."

Freddy tried to say more, but the looks on his lovers faces told him that they were going to do this. He reluctantly nodded as they all headed out the door towards Bonnie Bowl.

~

Once arriving in Bonnie Bowl, the group headed towards Bonnie's Greenroom. The rabbit had suggested recently to the upper management that his greenroom should be in a different part of the building, to which the only free space was in his area. Freddy could only guess that it was to get away from him.

They arrived at the upper right corner of the area, next to the lanes. The newly added door to the greenroom stood in front of them. Freddy looked back at his beloveds.

"This may take a while. Perhaps you guys could play a round while I speak with Bonnie."

Chica shook her head. "We can wait, Freddy...although not too long as I am kinda getting hungry for pizza." She sheepishly scracthed the back of her head.

"We can have pizza later, honey.", Roxy said, enlisting a surprise hug from the chicken.

"Aw, thank you, Roxy-poo!", Chica said as Roxy quickly squirmed out of the chickens grasp.

"Ugh, don't call me that. You know how much I hate nicknames."

"Nah, I know secretly that you like it!"

"Do not!"

"Do too!"

"Well, I'll leave you boys to deal with the lovebirds. I gotta head back to securing the area, cuz you know, my job and all. Good luck, Freddy!", Vanessa said, walking out of the bowling alley. The others waved her off.

Taking a deep breath, Freddy knocked on Bonnie's door. He heard sounds of shambling inside before the blue bunny appeared before him. He looked...apathetic, which unnerved the bear somewhat.

"What do you want.", Bonnie said, closing the door somewhat.

"I... wanted to talk with you. REALLY talk with you, if you do not mind. "

"Hmmm, no -"

Bonnie began to close the door until Freddy put his hand in front of it, blocking it from closing. He wasn't going to keep doing this.

"Ugh, fine. But they'll have to stay out here, especially HIM", he pointed at the alligator.

"We already were," Monty said, leading the others farther away from Bonnie's door as he flipped off the bunny.

With some reluctance, Bonnie led Freddy inside his greenroom. Despite how long they'd been dating for, he'd never once saw the bunnies greenroom. It looked similar to the gangs greenrooms, except the walls were more of a purplish blue, bowling related items were scattered about, and of course, the room was adorned with his merchandise.

Bonnie sat on his couch, crossing his arms and legs, clearly not wanting to do this. Oh, how Freddy just wanted to have his boyfriend back again.

"Well?", Bonnie said, agitation clearly present in his voice. Freddy had to think carefully over his words now, not wanting to upset him even more.

"...I want to know why exactly you broke it up with me, please. Even if we can not rekindle our relationship, it would benefit me even knowing the answer."

"I've already told you, I just broke it up. That's. It."

"There is something more that you are not telling me, and I want to know what it truly is."

"If I told you, it would probably harm our relationship, alright? And as I said, it's nothing!"

"You need to stop lying to me!". At that point, they were in a full-on argument.

"Fine! Do you truly wanna know? Huh? Its cuz you're dating HIM!"

"What do you mean?"

Bonnie facepalmed his face, bewilderment in his eyes. "Monty! You should have realized that me and him HATE each other! God dammit man!"

Angry slowly started to creep into Freddy's voice. "How was I supposed to know when you never told me? I would have tried to make things different if you just gave me some signs. "

"Well then...just...ugh!"

Bonnie shrank into the couch, deflated. The sight of him made Freddy realize that he was heated up and needed to calm down. After calming, Freddy carefully sat next to him to test the waters.

Silence laid between them for a long moment. He was about to speak up until Bonnie himself did first.

"Look, I'm... sorry, I... should have made it clear. I realized now that I was being way too cagy and never told you,  that's my fault. It's just that I care about you a lot, Freddy. I just don't you anywhere near him."

Bonnie shifted his body, laying his head onto Freddy's arm. It reminded freddy of how they used to be.

"May I ask why you two are such at odds with each other?", the bear asked.

Sighing, Bonnie took a moment to think before carefully saying his words.

"Its... hard to say but the main point is that he hurt me....and I guess I also hurt him..."

"Even if I don't think you should be dating him, if you truly think he's good for you then... continue to date him. As for us, I don't think we should get back into our relationship so soon. I think some time apart from each other would help us figure out what we truly want. I do love you, just....we need some time apart."

The words stung oh so badly into Freddy's heart, but the possibility of a future together again warmed Freddy's heart. He hoped it would become true and perhaps if Monty and Bonnie somehow made peace with each other, that they could be friends.

Bonnie lifted his head and rested his hand on Freddy's shoulder. He gave him a warm smile that meant so much to the bear.

"Now, since that's settled, go on! Enjoy your date with them! Don't let me hold you back."

Freddy didn't move for a bit until Bonnie sighed and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. It reinvigorated the bear, and he got up from the couch and headed to the door. He paused and looked back at Bonnie. He smiled and left the room.

~

Freddy had a great time with his superstars. Eating pizza with Chica, going around the raceway with Roxy and scoring golf with Monty. He enjoyed every moment of it, and with what Bonnie had said, was looking towards the future.
