Work Text:
Too long had it been raining on Signickel. Four days exactly, the massive raincloud looming over not only Signickel, but quite a few other cousin planets, had done nothing short of stay put. Rain clouds came and went over cousin planets occasionally, but this one was an anomoly. The rain hadnt let up for a single moment, not even giving resident cosmics the grace of lightening its flow, even for a minute.
It made it quite hard for both Signolo and Nickel to exit their homes, as they were both mechanical beings. Signolo had it easier, seeing as only his head was machine. His body was protected by a fresh shell, refusing to let any water seep in even through the smallest cracks. Nickel, on the other hand, had recieved the short end of the stick. His entire body was covered in spaces and divots, perfect for letting water corrode his innards. Not to mention the issue with rust, there was nothing Nickel despised more than needing to scrub rust off of his body.
Signolo has an umbrella which shields his head enough to be able to exit his home in the rampant weather. It does enough to allow him to check his mail, as well as Nickels, as he has taken it upon himself to do the chore for the resident robot. After all, they are cousins, its the least he could do. Not to mention his determination to keep Nickel out of as much danger as possible.
That was one thing he was good at; keeping others out of danger. Signolo took pride in his ability to diffuse situations and reduce chance of harm, this being the reason why he chose his job as a crossing guard. Despite doing his job well, and being very aware of the facts, he hates being placed in the middle of dangerous situations- namely ones which he has no control over. Something about being counted on to help others in their time of fear, but being unable to, it makes him feel completely insignificant. Maybe thats part of why he was so terrified on this specific day.

Signolo sat in his dark home, the only lights coming from the windows; those of which that had not been closed already. The lights were off, the only thing illuminating the home was the (lacking) sunlight which barely came through the clouds and rain. He was leaning over his kitchen island, his arms resting on the cold marble. He stared down at his reflection, only being able to see it with the dim light which his front face shone with.
He doesnt really like the rain. He dislikes the sound of it hitting against his house, not to mention the accompanying creaking from the powerful winds blowing against the house. Those sounds in a quiet home are enough to spark a bit of anxiety within him- but its never enough to outright scare him. The only time a storm would scare him was if it was a thunderstorm in particular; which on this day, it was.
He continued staring at his blurry reflection, his body quivering incessantly. He held his hands together, fingers locked. He stood up from his hunched position, now pacing from the kitchen to the livingroom, where he would sit on the carpet infront of the television. He had turned it on a few hours prior, before the thunder had gotten as bad as it did. He had initially counted on it to distract him from the loud cracking coming from outside, however it would eventually become too much for the sound to drown out.
He brought his knees to his chest, and held them close to himself. The outside world flashed with a bright white for a moment, immediately catching Signolos attention. He stared at the open kitchen window with a stressed expression, his breathing hitched. Counting the seconds that pass with no sound, he turns his head away from the window, directing his attention back to the- *CRACKK*
He jolts harshly among hearing the loud thunder strike, bringing hands to cover his ears. He immediately gets up from his spot, wrapping his arms around himself and power walking towards his bedroom. Seeking any refuge from the storm, he confides in the comfort of his own room. Slamming the door behind him, he dives under his beds covers and wraps himself into the thick duvet. He pulls it around his head, completely covering his side screens. Just as he sees another flash of bright light, he groans loudly and shoves his head inbetween two of his pillows.
Here he was, the cousin who everyone viewed as brave and confident, hiding under his bed sheets like a dog because of a little thunderstorm. He made it a personal goal to dedicate his life to helping others in times of danger, and yet he cant even self-soothe in a time where he feels he himself is in danger. He shifts to his side, again wrapping his arms around his body with the blanket between. He grits his teeth and buries his face into the blanket as thunder strikes loudly again.
Its not even the loud sounds that scare him- ..well, it partially is, but it is that sense of danger that stresses him out the most. That danger which he hates with a passion- the same danger that he strives to protect every other cousin from- the only reason hes more concerned with himself in this scenario than he is with anyone else is because he (and Nickel, of course.) are the only ones who live on a planet made of metal, which is known to be a very big conductor of electricity. Although the idea that lightning is more likely to strike metal is indeed a myth, poor Signolo knows none the better, and is put on edge at the very idea that he is sitting on the one planet which could end with him being fried. Any time a thunderstorm occurs, all he can think of is the fact that he lives on the biggest lightning-magnet in the galaxy. The thunder itself..? It just startles him.
Its not just the fear of roasting alive that stresses him out so, but the fact that his brave persona which his cousins and siblings adore so much is nothing but a facade. I mean, he certainly is rather plucky, however he does have his weaknesses which go unknown. His valorance tends to overshadow his flaws; not many people are aware of how squeamish he is. Hes seen his good share of gorey horror films, namely with Shikao and Ace, who invite him to their movie nights because he is willing to watch whatever they put on- hes good at masking when hes uncomfortable and not, and its because of his ability to hide just what makes his stomach churn that he is the “cool cousin” who is chill with whatever. In reality, he is weak. And if it were to get out that he wasnt as perfect and courageous as he shows himself to be, his entire reputation could crumble, which scares him more than the idea of having his wires burnt to a crisp by lightning.
He could attempt to distract himself, but truth be told, he was awful at self-soothing. Usually, he could push any anxious doubt back until it fades away, but when something is so persistent that hes reminded of his weakness every time lightning flashes, its impossible to forget about it for even a moment. He groans loudly once more, pulling his head out from under his pillows, wiping the sweat from his screen. He sits up, still with the duvet wrapped around himself. His room feels stuffy, and hes starting to get a headache. He steps down from his bed, without dropping the duvet, and heads for the livingroom- as the A/C is stronger out there. As much as he didnt know a thing about comforting himself, he could atleast make an effort instead of sweating in his bed over it.

Nickel stared out the window drearily, resting his head on his hand as he held a small handheld fan in the other. His A/C had been knocked out by the storm, and his house had been hot and stuffy since.
He didnt care much for the rain at all. He hated thunder even more- all thunder ever did was knock electrical stuff out, which led to Nickel slaving away to repair whatever had been destroyed in the storm. Of course, he enjoys fixing stuff. Its a hobby of his, seeing as he was programmed with the knowledge, but it becomes more of a chore when you have 10 cousins calling you at once to come and fix their electric which was blown.
Now, he still had power, but the A/C which ran through his house broke. Which, of course it sucks. Being made of metal, he heats up very easily- his well cooled home was a vessel of comfort for him, never once feeling he was overheating- until the damn A/C goes out. It felt like an oven in his kitchen, even with the fridge door wide open, as that was his only hope of cooling down. He had 3 fans going, a handheld fan in his claw, and the fridge AND freezer open, and yet it still felt like a hotbox.
He wondered how Signolo was doing. He knew that both he and his planetary neighbor shared a disdain for water, meaning it was unlikely Signolo was anywhere besides his own home.
He’s probably watching a movie or something, lazing around. Nickel had always wondered how Singolo could work as much as he did, going on as long as he had with no break. He would spend ours outside, waving his arms around, spinning that stopsign, blinking his screens according to who he wished to pass. He always did the most for his cousins, and it was honestly admirable.
Not just admirable. It was almost.. envy inducing. He could be praised for hours by Nickel, because, if he is completely honest, he is proud of his cousin… but.. still, the feelings of jealousy remain. After all, Nickel was essentially unknown to his other cousins. The only ones he can name off the top of his metallic head who were able to greet him by name were Shikao, Odeko, and of course, Signolo. He was never someone who was memorable for anything- if anything, his main personality trait to those who did know him was simply, that he was a robot.
He had always strived to be adored among his cousins- to do something worthy of praise. He had a knack for building, but a disdain for inventing. He had always fantasized of becoming a renowned builder, helping people with whatever it is they needed assembled- however he never found a good time to do so.. or, a good cousin to do it for.
Nickel had definitely attempted in the past to get himself known, however his status as someone who was quite the opposite was why he often failed. Not too long before, he had offered to help Miso assemble a new piece of equipment for her restaurant, to which she awkwardly declined. Disheartening, really. Put him in an awful mood.
He does try to keep his jealousy capped! He really does, and its not like hes angry with jealousy. Really, he is proud of his cousin for what he does for everyone, and he does look up to him just the same as the others, however.. that bit of envy just cant go away.
..Whatever. I shouldnt be digging so deep into this anyways. The guy deserves a break. He grunts quietly as he gets down from the bench he was sitting on, rolling to his bedroom. He sorted through his closet, pulling out a very oversized clear raincoat. He pulled it down past his head, sticking his arms through the sleeves. Im sure Sigs wouldnt mind me paying him a visit. Besides.. I need to get out of here before i overheat.
He stuck some long rain boots onto his wheels, boots which he recieved from June, and pulled an unbrella out of the livingroom closet. He was sure Signolo wouldnt care if he visited now, not like a surprise visit would hurt anything.. besides, Nickel could use a bit of company, seeing as he has been confided to his home for four days straight. The occasional visit and mail reception from Signolo just doesnt cut it.. Speaking of, shouldnt he have come by now..? He chooses to not dig too deep into it, as hes still going either way.
He opens the front door, staring at the pouring rain. Even with the ecological disaster covering his body, he was still anxious. He was always nervous when it came to liquid.. but, the best way to get over a fear is to face it head on.. probably.
Whatever. Im wasting time. He opened his umbrella, and started for Signolos house.

I’on remember being programmed to feel this way, or any way as a matter of fact. I havent peeped my coding in’na good while, actually. I wonder if I could mess wit’ it to fix those dumb little quirks.
Be best to not bother wit’ it, though. I’on know much ‘bout wires n’ code, really.
I wonder what i could do, though. Maybe i could force some skills into myself.. assumin’ i learnt to even change the code in the first place. Oh damn, what id do if i could code myself. That seems like somethin i could learn a thing or two about.. when i have the time, obviously. Im stuck here for as long as this fuckin’ storm dont let up.
I wonder how the others do it. Besides Opeo, i’on think ive ever seen a cosmic get as stressed out as i am over somethin petty like this. I could always ask for advice- actually, thats a terrible idea. I shouldnt need to ask around how to calm myself down. Who am i, Ace?.. ..that was a little mean.
God.. i cant handle this thunder..! I wish i had some way to drown the sound out. I wouldnt be this worried if i was on some other planet. Hell, i’d feel more safe on Beyotsuo than i do here.. and i hate that place. Too many twists and turns for me to comprehend.
Maybe i can talk Odeko into messin wit’ my wires. Hes a smart guy, im sure he wouldnt mind screwin wit’ my innards for an hour or two. Then again, he ain’t the smartest wit’ sentient machines as he is wit’ the ones he creates, for all i know, i might come out of it speakin German or somethin.
My first goal would be to get rid of that queasy crap. Blood n’ junk, id love to be as unaffected as im perceived to be. Dont get me wrong, shockin films certainly do interest me, but its the splatter that makes me wanna turn away. It just,, freaks me out. Not like it should make me feel anything anyways, i’on even got a stomach. My second order would be to kill off the sensations i aint supposed to be gettin. For Gods sake, i was created to direct traffic, not gag over a bit o’ gore.
I wonder if anyone thinks im fake. I hope to God they dont. I’unno.. i know im overreacting. I mean, im the first person they go to when in need of help, im sure if they had doubts, they would certainly consider all other options… and yet, i still feel like i aint as good at hidin my true feelings as i am. I mean, id say i got a pretty good poker face, i can hold back any emotions im feelin behind a straight face. I do admit i feel silly, sittin an’ stressin over how im perceived without even knowin for sure if im correct or not. Im gettin too deep into my thoughts. I wonder if that old outlet on the wall still works.
~ 🚥 ~
Signolo sat on his couch, still wrapped up in the thick duvet blanket. He had his charger plugged into the outlet on the wall, which kept him on the edge of his seat, seeing as the couch was not close enough to the outlet for him to sit comfortably.
He was watching something on tv, trying to keep his attention on it. Of course hes still scared, its best established that he remains so. He felt like a wet cat; pathetic, sad, and cold. He was very cold. Even with the thick cover pulled all the way around his body, he found himself shivering.
Actually, it probably wasnt even the cold. I mean, he had just moved from his bedroom to the livingroom because he thought it was too hot in there- its doubtful he would go from sweating to freezing within 5 minutes. He felt jittery, no doubt about it. but it was highly lilely he was still pent up over the current weather state. It was easier to convince himself he was cold though.
He yanked his plug out from the outlet and retracted it back into his body. He had thought that, maybe if he started charging himself, he could knock himself out and get some sleep to pass the time- as usually, charging took up all of his energy. It obviously didnt work, as he was way too anxious to get a wink of sleep. He could forcefully shut himself down, however that never felt good. It always felt like going on anesthesia, not to mention waking up from a force sleep felt just like coming off the stuff. He would only ever force his systems off after contracting a virus, assuming it had been treated proper antivirus.
Usually he would be completely busy all day, even when confined to his home. He would be moving at a constant, doing whatever- be it chores, general organizing, or just wasting time- but now? He couldnt think of a single thing to do. His mind was racing, and he was overthinking it. Of course he had stuff to do, he had a basket full of dirty laundry which needed cleaned, his bedroom needed cleaned up, and his kitchen had dishes in the sink from a few days prior when Foomin and Marcy had come over.
He missed them, in all honesty. Right now, he would much rather be on one of his friends planets. Yes, the thunder would be startling, but it wouldnt work him up nearly as much as it is now. Had he known the storm would get this bad, he wouldve migrated to Foopeo or L’Ace already, just to give him a reason to stay. Not like hed force it on them, but whos gonna send a mechanical mind out into a thunderstorm?
He stared at the television, an old cartoon from when he was younger was airing on the network. The tv itself was quite old, as it still had a VHS slot. Not like Signolo owned any VHS tapes, he-

~ ⚙️🔩 ~
If theres one thing Nickel hates more than anything, its rain; moreso, standing in it.
Of course Signolo wasnt required to answer. Nickel didnt even know if he was awake, as it was 8:34 pm, and Signolo typically kept a good sleep schedule. He was out by around 9:00pm, and up bright and early at 6:00am. He was a very organized guy, he knew to handle himself.
Not to mention the fact that Nickel hadnt even asked to drop by- he was hoping Signolo would answer, as he had already walked across the planet in the rain, theres no way it could be for nothing. Not to mention he needed to be in a cool space.. he couldnt handle the stuffiness of his home as it was.
He raised his right arm to try and knock again, however just before he could tap the door again, Signolo opened it up, staring at Nickel with a very clearly forced smile. He looked completely stressed, sweat residue very visible from where he had wiped it from his screen, and a hand holding his chest. Not to mention his side faces looked just as anxious as Signolo seemed to be feeling- given that he could only control the expression of one at once.
”Nickel! I-I apologize,, i didnt- i didnt expect ya to drop by today…” Signolo stepped back to make room for Nickel to enter. “Come on in mate, its.. i’on wanna keep ya in the rain..” He made a motion with his arm to indicate Nickel could enter, which he did with no hesitation. As Nickel waddled into the house, Signolo shut the door behind him.
He kicked off the rainboots and removed the raincoat, setting them both neatly by the door. “Heyo Sigs, sorry for coming in so randomly. The A/C at my house blew, and I didnt see you today, so I just wanted to check on you.” He rolled his wheels against the floor for a moment before standing up straight and rolling towards Signolo, who seemed to be in his own world entirely. He stared blankly at the ground, breathing heavily.
”..Yo, Sigs.. you okay?” Nickel looked around at the house.. it seemed so much more dreary than usual. The lights were off, the kitchen was dirty, and it was basically silent.
Signolo looked up and blinked a few times, before chuckling awkwardly and putting his forced smile back on. “Yea.. yea im great. Just.. tired, i guess.” He walked away from where Nickel was, to turn on a lightswitch. The livingroom glowed with the yellow light, a nice shift from the sad look it had previously. Nickel squinted his eyes at the sudden change in lighting, blinking to get used to it.
He directed his attention to the couch, where he seen the large, piled up blanket. He assumed he had woken Signolo up, a feeling of guilt building up within him.
”Were you maybe asleep prior to my arrival..?” Nickel held his claws together, looking at Signolo guiltily. Signolos eyes widened, he walked to grab the duvet from the couch. “Nah, nah! I wasnt asleep, just.. a bit cold, i guess.” He folded up the duvet, and sat it on the chair next to the couch. “I apologize if i dont have much to do or say.. I guess i aint feelin my best tonight.” He let out another nervous laugh, turning to face Nickel.
Nickels eyebrows furrowed at this. He could immediately pick up that something was wrong, that only further confirmed it. “Okay..” He sat down on the couch, still staring at Signolo as he watched him walk off towards the kitchen. He was now doing the dishes, which had looked like they were there for a while.
There was definitely some sort of tension felt by Signolo. Nickel kept his eyes on his neighbor, watching his movements. He turns his body to match his head, leaning over the back of the couch. “You.. want some help?” Signolo looks back at Nickel, giving him a smile that didnt seem as forced, but still seemed nothing genuine. “Thats alright! I think ive got this one, i appreciate it though.” He turned back around, cleaning off a plate. “So, ya A/C went out, hm? Sounds irritatin, when’d it blow?”
“…earlier today.” Nickels gaze only hardened, it is completely unlike Signolo to show genuine interest in others issues, given they arent in any real danger. “Damn, i wonder what caused that. Well, besides the storm, heh.. Just gotta hope it dont blow nothin else out, huh?”
Nickel sighed loudly, which caused Signolo to stop what he was doing. He turned around hesitantly, his face looking a bit more distressed. “I-Im sorry- did.. did i.. did i say somethin i shouldn’ave..?” Nickel turned his body around, keeping his head facing Signolo. “Why dont you come sit by me for a bit-? Just.. leave that alone, and sit over here.” Signolo looked back at his dishes, letting out a sigh louder than that of Nickels. He threw the soapy tupperware container back into the sink, and hesitantly made his way toward the couch.
He sat down next to Nickel, staring down at his hands in his lap. Nickel stared at the face closest to him- being able to immediately tell how distressed Signolo felt.
“Okay, cut the shit. Whats up with you.” Signolo didnt look at Nickel directly, however he did turn his head towards him slightly. Nickel looked Signolo in the eyes with a stern, yet still somewhat comforting look. The only thing that could be heard through the silence was the A/C. Still staring blankly at the ground, he forces a smile again.
“I dont really feel like myself.” He was still smiling, in an almost sardonic way. “I dont want to talk about it.” He dropped his shoulders, chuckling to himself in a strange sort of manner. Nickel didnt like that visceral response, nor his general answer.
It made sense though. Nickel had never seen this side of Signolo. The most ‘off’ he has seen the guy was when he got a virus, but he could barely count that. No, he was acting completely different. It was like his personality had been completely flipped. Normally the guy was confident and courageous. He couldnt think of a thing in the world that would get Signolo this anxious, specifically under the circumstances that they were in.
“Can.. you atleast tell me why you dont.. feel like yourself?” He leaned his head down as far as his metal body would allow for. He attempted to meet Signolos eyes, but it looked like he was in a completely different world. Like he wasnt listening at all.
Still he responded, “I dont think it would change much. I think its best if….” He trailed off, staring at the ground. His smile faded as his eyes darkened. He now had a much more pitiful look on his face, as he studied the ground below him. His blue face lit up, keeping himself farther from Nickel.
“….how much do you.. think you know about me..?”
This was a weird question. Nickel knew quite alot about Signolo. At least, he thought he did. Sigs weirdly cryptic comment made him doubt this. Still, he answered honestly.
“Well, i know as much about youd as I think i could know, being your neighbor.. and cousin, obviously.” He still wasn’t satisfied with his response. He added on, hesitantly, “…is there something that you want me to know-? Or- something you.. hell, i dunno.”
He let out a loud sigh as he finished speaking. It felt like he wasnt going to get anywhere. He lifted his head to meet the eyes of Signolos side face, which was now lit up, looking right at Nickel.
“I feel real guilty, Nickel. I feel like im lyin to everyone out there.” Nickels expression went blank. “I.. im sorry?”
“How do you see me, Nickel? Like.. bein honest. When you see me out on the street, what do ya think?” The red light still blaring, he held eye contact with the robotic cosmic. Nickel thought for a second. “Well, i think youre couragous, i guess. I think its real modest of you to spend your time focused on the safety of others.”
He continued, “Alot of the others think so to. Ive had a few conversations about you with the others, considering i live on a planet with you. Yknow, youre really appreciated. By everyone in the cosmos.” Signolos facial expression softened a bit, looking a bit less anxious. “Why do you ask, again?”
He looked down, turning his head to face forward once more. “I feel bothered. The thunder has been scaring me,” Nickel frowned at him, focused on the red screen. “Its making me doubt myself.. my abilities, my confidence..” He trailed off once more. Nickel stared at Signolo as he stood up.
”Why?”
Signolo stopped. He turned around to face Nickel.
”..Im sorry..?
”Why.. does you being scared of thunder make you doubt yourself?” Signolo shot a look at Nickel, before turning back around and wiping the perspiration off his screen. “I dont want to answer stupid questions. Im not thinkin any more on this.. im just tellin you whats wrong.”
Nickels eyes widened a bit at the reaction, he sat up a bit more. “I was asking a genuine question, Sig. I actually want to know what you being scared of thunder has to do with your abilities, or confidence, or.. whatever else you said.” Signolo sighed as he sat down on the ottoman next to where he was sitting previously. He was now facing Nickel, looking at him with his primary face [Being the yellow one in the center.] He had a bit of a darker look on his face. A pissier one, at that.
”You said it ye’self, they all see me as ‘courageous.’ How would they feel knowin that the guy who makes it his duty to keep em all safe, is actually terrified of thunder. Doesnt that just.. make ya feel.. less confident in me?” He crossed his arms and hunched his back as he looked down. “Maybe im not confident. Maybe i am scared of dumb things. I also dont like blood. But ya didnt know that. Now that’cha do, im sure ya wont confide in me when it comes to safety.”
Nickel stared blankly, a bit shocked. He tried to speak, but was cut off; “I know, nobody knows about this. Except for you, now. Either way, the problem is that I know about it, and i.. i just cant carry the guilt of knowin that im a fake personality. Im nothin.”
Nickel was a bit stunned, he closed his mouth which hung open a small bit. He wasnt shocked at the news, but rather that it was something as small as a fear which had sent the guy into such a state. Nickel felt pity for him, in all honesty. He folded his claws together before looking Signolo in the eyes and making his second attempt at speaking.
”Do you know, that its okay to have fears? Like.. theres genuinley nothing wrong with being scared of something.” Signolo didnt respond, he kept looking downwards. Nickel kicked Signolos leg, which prompted him to jump and look up at the robot. “Did you hear what i said?”
”..yeah.” He glared at Nickel again as he looked back down at his own arms. “i heard you.” He stared back down at the ground, closing his eyes and letting out a loud huff.
Nickels eyebrows furrowed once more as he put his arms at his sides. “No, you dont get it. You think im trying to make you feel better, but im not that shallow.” He lifted his leg and planted his wheel firmly on Signolos leg, once more to grab his attention. Signolo stared coldly at Nickel, pushing his wheel off. He huffed again and looked up at Nickel.
”Im saying this because its true. You think that having any sort of fears automatically makes you a coward- its not true. You have so many qualities about you that make you so trustworthy by all the cousins. Plus, we all know that youre scared of blood.” Signolos face went pale [well, as pale as a screen can get.] once he heard this. He looked more embarassed than upset.
”I.. how..?” Nickel smirked and stared Signolo in the eyes. “Have you seen yourself when youre in a situation where blood is involved? You go completely pale and you get this queasy look on your face. Its very noticable.” Signolo covered his mouth in shock. Nickel added, “We’ve known for quite a while. And still, you remain the most trusted cosmic in the cosmos..”
He stared at Nickel. Not in a way which was as cold as before, but moreso like he just didnt know what to think. Nickel sighed and let his shoulders drop. “I didnt mean to come off as harsh or whatever. I just.. want you to understand.”
”It really is normal to be scared of some things. You say it makes you think your confidence is feigned, but.. do you intentionally fake being confident?” Signolo looked down at the carpet, his face returning to its normal coloration. “I.. I mean, no.. It feels real in the moment..”
”Thats because it IS real.” Nickel leaned forward, putting a hand on Sigs head and tilting it up to view him. “You really are as confident as people say you are. You are that brave too. And yes, sometimes you will feel scared. That doesnt immediately cancel out all the things youve done to prove you are valiant.”
Signolo sighed and looked out the window. The once loud and harsh storm had basically passed, now being reduced to purely rain. He looked back to Nickel and smiled, genuinley this time. It felt nice, seeing Signolo genuinley smile. It made Nickel feel a lot better about the given situation. He stood up and took his hand away from Signolo.
”Kay, im done being your therapist. You can go back to doing your dishes, I’ll leave you to it.” Nickel rolled towards the door, to get his rain gear. “I- Wait-!” Signolo grabbing his plug-tail right before he could reach it. Nickel stopped in his tracks, turning and yanking the tail away. He shot a dirty look at Signolo for yanking on his tail, to which he pulled his hands back and averted his eyes sheepishly.
”I- firstly, i’m sorry- but.. I can finish those dishes later.. do you just.. wanna hang out..? I should have some shows on cable here.. or we could play with the 360 for a bit.”
Nickel looked back, smiling a bit. He nodded his head as he rolled back over to the couch, sitting right where he had been sitting before. He felt happy. He was glad that Signolo was feeling better, at least it seemed that way. He watched Sig as he dug through a cabinet full of junk, ranting about something relating to that 360. This time, it didnt feel like anxious rambling.
Thats all he really wanted to come out of this visit, at least after learning something was wrong with Signolo. He had to look out for his planet mate anyways, it was like a civil obligation. That, and he genuinley did care for Signolo, like he was a brother rather than a cousin. Nickel did still feel bad for Signolo. He could detect a bit of stress in Signolos voice still. The only reason he didnt continue to press him was because he didnt want to stress Sig out any further. He definitley wasnt fully confident with what he had been told, despite having a pretty good poker face, he wasnt very good at hiding emotions like that.
Oh well, at least hes happy now.
: )
