Wilder is the second oldest Protean on file. First discovered by the former Typhon Federation in 1938. Went off Radar from 1960 to 1994.

Wilder first gained the Division’s interest with his display of unique abilities: Subject is capable of neutralizing brainwaves, specifically beta waves—alongside other more physical feats—in both human and protean bodies. Although, this neurotoxic reaction seems only to work in tandem when said subject is reduced to a more defensive, primitive state.

The inability to control the change, has left Wilder to be fitted with a protective device prohibiting sporadic, emotion induced, “episodes,” and allows him to rein in on his impulses. Although, the device has since been damaged and has begun to create a new list of issues. This aforementioned state of inhuman ferality brings about odd growths from within the subject’s hands, increased strength, speed, remarkable regenerative factors, and heightened senses. Unfortunately, this peculiar state also entails decreased clarity, immense body pain, and intense exhaustion.

Wilder’s more “civilized,” habits have been observed as the following: the subject lives in an abandoned district outside the city of Calhoun. Prefers to live alone. Subject likes to cook, frequently repair his vehicle, keep bees, and drives through chasms territory for steady income by supplying medical aid to those in need. Alongside these healthier activities, Wilder’s other life choices seem…abysmal. Subject chain-smokes, denies poor drinking habits, and consumes a trifle amount of anything unless completely necessary.

Little else is on file about Wilder's past. It is known he was abandoned at an old Station shortly after birth due to illegitimacy, and proceeded to grow up there on his own. How he survived for so long is unknown, but our team believes his advanced capabilities saved him from many early deaths.

  [Side notes]

  •  Aside from all the subject's bizarre capabilities, Wilder seems to be completely colorblind. His vision also suffers greatly overall, but his other senses are incredible in comparison, and outweigh his need for better eyesight.

  • Due to his other enhanced senses, he seems to prefer quieter environments. Even seeming to only be able to enjoy softer music.

  • Old Typhon classification used to be 41 Lyncis

Position:

As a washed up investigations specialist of sorts, Wilder has kept to himself over the years, doing more independent work. He left the force in 1960 as a sergeant and for a long time, seemed to jump from place to place. Not the easiest to track down.

Once reinstated in 2007, he has resumed his role as a senior Investigations Specialist, placed in Calhoun to survey the recent mishaps occuring in the city. Following his hire, Wilder has been assigned to work alongside Sr. Deputy, T4G Allard.
