Chapter 1: Blue haired girl

Chapter Text

Screams. Fire. Blood. Pearls. Bruce Wayne's eyes shot open as he quickly sat up on his bed, sweat coating his body and the sheets where he lay moments befor e . He took a minute to take a few deep breaths, trying to calm himself down, before sighing and leaving his bed, beginning to get ready for his morning work out. He wore a simple tank top and shorts as he headed to the training room— he was one of the few to have a key with him; being in charge of the self defense classes. Bruce began a quick workout of about 30 minutes— he knew throughout the day he would still get some exercise, even if it wasn’t as much as normal with training others instead of a full on workout. Afterwards he took a quick shower to wash the sweat off his body from both the nightmare and from his workout, and by the time he got out the sun was just barely rising. Bruce let out a sigh. It would be a long day waiting for the afternoon— when the new kids would arrive. Still Bruce got dressed wearing his best suit and combing his hair back. Bruce took a deep breath, sure, they were older than his kids— and maybe they could be like how Damian was— Bruce shook his head, deciding not to judge them and what they could be before he met them. He would get an idea when he went to pick them up as the “Security”, something he volunteered to do to be able to get a better idea of who these “villain kids” actually were.

“Okay everyone I want this to be perfect for the Isle kids— give them a warm Auradon Prep welcome!” Ben announced to the group of teens there.

“You know, Ben, you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment— they’re villains, ” Audrey remarked with a small frown as she stood next to Ben, her arms crossed.

“Kids, villain kids, they aren’t their parents,” Ben stated with a small sigh, before turning around seeing his childhood friend, Dick.

Ever since Bruce Wayne had adopted Dick after an accident in the circus, he had been going to Auradon. Once a common boy, now the heir of the kingdom of Gotham— though he doesn't want to rule— Ben had quickly become friends with Dick; the two becoming best friends just as quickly.

“Ben! It feels like it’s been years!” Dick said with a wide smile as he hugged Ben tightly.

“It’s only been a week,” Ben remarked with a laugh as he hugged Dick back. It had been spring break, with Dick once again leaving with the rest of his adoptive family to return to Gotham like every other year— everyone knew what happened the year he hadn’t— one of the many things practically everyone knew of, though never spoke of.

“Still feels like it’s been a while!” Dick said with a laugh, “I mean, really, you seemed to have become more kingly since I left,” he remarked sarcastically with a smirk.

“I want to make a good impression,” Ben stated as he fixed his shirt a bit.

“Eh, I don’t know. From what I heard they like leather— not kingly types,” Dick remarked with a sly smile.

“Oh, because a sweater vest and varsity jacket has a lot of leather,” Ben joked back.

“Eh, fair point— anyways, I’ve already prepared everything for them; their dorms, schedules, some maps of the school, along with a form in case they need a specialized meal plan,” Dick remarked as he pulled out some papers.

“And seems like you had good timing” Ben remarked as the limo arrived to pick up Bruce Wayne- who had volunteered to act as security- before going to pick up the Villian kids.

Ben knew he was going to have a good day, helping teens get the life they deserved.

Bruce sat in the passenger seat, next to the driver, who Bruce could only assume was someone either king Adam or the Fairy Godmother trusted, as he himself had never seen the man before. Bruce looked out the window, his face in a semi-permanent frown as they drove over the magic golden bridge, appearing out of thin air as they drove. The car moved quickly, clearly the driver just wanted to get this done and over with. Bruce’s eyes narrowed as they crossed the barrier— a spell placed on the limo to allow it to travel through the barrier with ease. Bruce glared in front of him, watching as the people of the Isle looked at the limo in awe, his hand tapping his leg— which itself was bouncing— Bruce would never admit he was nervous though. He’s been here enough times since… it happened…

Bruce glanced through the window as he saw different people staring at the limo. Some were older, others were young, some skinny with their bones visible, some tall, some not. He focused on a few kids in particular— a teen glaring with aqua hair, another much smaller and incredibly pale boy looking in awe but quickly scampering away, a young girl with a crazy outfit and hair who seemed to be trying to get a better look at the vehicle— Bruce had to stop looking; having to hold himself back from wanting to adopt them all. He took a deep breath as a group of four teens got in— clearly being the kids of four of the most infamous villains. A girl with purple hair, another girl with curly blue hair, a boy with white hair sticking up with black roots, and another boy with long brown hair being covered by a beanie, all wearing a crazy amount of leather— and almost immediately going for the candy. “Dangerous”, the others within Auradon thought, he could tell already there would be nothing to be scared of; these were just children who never had the chance to be children.

Bruce watched as they looked in awe at the bridge that appeared in front of them, before the girl with purple hair looked into the windowed portion that separated the two sides— the privileged and the abandoned— holding up a remote control she had found.

“Does this button control the bridge?” The girl with purple hair asked as she raised an eyebrow and looked at the two with a frown.

“No, it controls my garage. this one controls the bridge,” The driver replied, holding up another mini Controller, “And this one rolls up the window,” he said before pressing the button to roll up the mini window separating him and Bruce from the passengers, the privileged and the abandoned.

“They could cause trouble or break something, do you think the best thing you could do is roll that up?” Bruce asked, giving the driver a skeptical look. He didn’t think the teens would actually do anything too bad, he just… wanted to understand them better.

“Eh, what's the worst they can do?” The driver said with a small shrug as he continued to drive. Bruce sighed, looking out over the water, this would be a long day.

Dick took a deep breath as he saw the limo arriving, the band performing and the cheerleaders doing a routine. He held the papers in his hand, ready to be there with Ben to give the villain kids a warm welcome— while Audrey was there, he would be surprised if she even gave a welcome, let alone a warm one. Dick watched as the limo stopped in front of them with (I think fairy godmother did but idk for certain I need to check) opening the door- causing two teenage boys to spill out, fighting and arguing before spotting Fairy Godmother.

A girl got out with bright blue, curly hair and wearing a cute, blue outfit, Dick couldn’t help but blush a bit at her but quickly shook it off and took another deep breath, tucking those feelings away . After a girl who had purple hair came out look at the boys with disgust as she rolled her eyes with a scoff. Dick heard the others talking a bit, but all he could focus on was the blue-haired girl, her outfit was clearly put together with whatever materials she could find though at the same time it was more unique and pretty than anything Dick had seen any of the other girls wore. Dick then noticed Ben who was looking at him- realizing that Ben was expecting him to say something.

“Oh right uh I’m Dick– Dick Grayson, I’ll help you guys out for your first few days here,” Dick said quickly putting himself back together— even if he just wanted to keep looking at the pretty blue-haired girl.

“Heh, he said grayson,” the boy with white hair and black roots snickered quietly where Dick could just barely hear it– his comment got a playful shove from the other teen boy.

“When Dick first came here, I was one of his first friends, and I was hoping the same could happen with you guys and him,” Ben explained with a warm smile not hearing the boy’s comment or seeing the playful shove— or maybe ignoring it to look at the purple-haired girl, though Dick couldn’t talk, seeing him with the blue-haired girl.

“Oh well then we’ll see,” the girl with purple hair said with a smirk. Dick knew what that meant, she would rather do anything than be friends with him.

So they begin a mini tour of the outside, passing by the statue of the beast that stood out in front of the entrance; a statue made with a spell that would be able to turn the king from his human self to his beast form whenever a person who was his family clapped their hands near it. The school was quite old– well the building was, the actual school was 20 years old– not the newest, sure, but definitely on the newer side for a school like this.

After a moment or two they walked into the grand hall of the school with two staircases; one on the right and one on the left, with halls behind them, Ben stood in front of the group.

“Right, well I need to head off now– I’ll see you later– and, well, I hope you like it here,” Ben said as he gave a smile to the purple-haired girl, who in return crossed her arms as Ben went off to do some almost-king duties.

“Okay, so we’ll start with the tour of the actual school and then we can figure out you guys’ schedule and any ques- “ Dick begun as he took a quick look at the blue-haired girl who- if he didn’t know better- he’d say was looking him up and down before he quickly looked away as they made eye contact for a moment, with him averting his eyes to some of the papers he had– though he didn’t need to double check the information; he already knew, just wanted an excuse.

“Actually, we’re just going to the dorms,” The purple-haired girl said as she and the others started going up the left stairs.

“You might have a little hard time with that, on account of the dorms being on the right side,” Dick said with a small chuckle and smile, once again making eye contact with the blue-haired girl for a moment before quickly looking away like before.

“We knew that,” the purple-haired girl said with a shrug– Dick knew they obviously hadn’t. He let out a small sigh and shook his head– this could take a while.
