"I love this place," Siuan declared, flopping onto the bed in their fish hut and taking Moiraine with her. "Mmmm. Did I ever thank you for getting it for me?"
Moiraine laughed, wrapping both her arms around Siuan and giving her a squeeze. It was so good to have her back after so long, and with luck, they'd be together forever this time.
"You have," she said, running her fingers through Siuan's dark curls. "And you deserve it. Anything for my wife."
Siuan shifted in Moiraine's arms, leaning forward to give her a little kiss on her lips. "Thank you very much," she said. "I know I've thanked you before, but it means everything that you went through all that trouble for me."
Moiraine snorted fondly. If anything, Siuan was always the one who went through trouble for her, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she flipped Siuan gently so they were facing the same way, before wrapping her arms around her waist and pressing a kiss on her shoulder.
"I love you," she said. "Thank you for being my wife."
Siuan took one of Moiraine's hands, squeezing it. "Thank you," she said. "Thank you for being the first person who's ever made me truly happy."
Moiraine nuzzled against Siuan. They'd gone fishing that morning, and there was still a hint of the sweet scent of seawater on her skin. Siuan felt deliciously soft against her, and Moiraine smiled as she relaxed into her embrace.
"I love holding you," she said. "I love how cuddly you are."
Siuan laughed. "Just a second," she said, shifting in Moiraine's arms and flipping them over, so she was holding Moiraine, wrapped around the smaller woman like a blanket. "There."
Moiraine shifted around in Siuan's arms, pouting. "I was enjoying holding you," she protested. "Come on. Turn back around."
Siuan shook her head. "Never," she said, grinning at Moiraine. "You can stay right here, my little pufferfish."
Moiraine scowled. "Siuan Sanche," she said, in mock anger, "You turn back around right this instant, you little silverpike. You hold me all the time. So let me do the holding for once."
"Pufferfish," Siuan said again, sticking her tongue out at Moiraine, before breaking into giggles. "Okay. Just because it's you." She turned back around, letting Moiraine hold her.
"Much better," Moiraine said, into Siuan's shoulder. "Holding you is like holding one of those giant stuffed animals from three ages ago. The ones that looked a bit like Trollocs, but cuter, with little round ears. Do you know what they're called again? I think we read about them when we were novices and learning about the previous ages, but I forgot the name."
Siuan shifted closer to Moiraine. Moiraine kissed her temple, smoothing some curls away from her face.
"Teddy bears?" Siuan asked. "I remember we tried to make one, only we didn't have any stuffing, so we stole one of Elaida's pillows and chopped it up. And then we used the case to make it a little dress and shift."
Moiraine nodded, breathing in Siuan's scent.
"Teddy bears," she said. "Well, you're my giant teddy bear, then. Except you're even cuter than a teddy bear."
Siuan rested her head under Moiraine's chin, her soft warmth radiating from her.
"I love you," she said. "Moiraine Sanche. I love you forever, in this life, the next life and every single one to come."
Moiraine kissed the top of Siuan's head, squeezing her just a little bit tighter. There was no way she'd ever get tired of Siuan, no matter how long they spent together. Not when Siuan was hers, and hers alone.
"I'm glad it was this life," she said. "That I have this whole life to spend with you."
Moiraine couldn't see it from her position, but she knew Siuan was smiling. And through their bond from the oath, she could feel Siuan's joy and love.
"Me too, love," Siuan said, and Moiraine could hear that smile in her voice. "Me too."
