Chapter Text
Gen didn't think preparing to upgrade the Perseus would take so long. He himself was on his way to Chrome to see if he could help him with the preparations. Since Senkuu returned to Ishigami Village with Kohaku, Kinrou, and Tsukasa to gather materials, Chrome has to do all the scientific stuff with Kaskeki.
'Even though Senku-chan is only back in the village to improve the living conditions of the elders for the winter... because according to Chrome-chan, we have enough materials here.'
"Chrome~! My dearest science apprentice! Do you perhaps need the brilliant help of a charming mentalist?"
Chrome, who had been digging his nose deep into a box until just now, looked up. "Hmm? Oh, Gen. I actually just wanted to look through some things lying around here. I don't think Senku has searched through them yet."
"Oh? Well then, my dearest Chrome, I'm at your disposal!~" Gen crouched down next to him and looked curiously at the half-opened crates. "Hopefully we'll find something exciting..."
~ 3 hours later ~
Gen stretched with exhaustion and let out an exaggerated sigh. "Aaah~ Chrome, my dear science friend, please tell me we're almost finished!"
Chrome looked questioningly at him from his crate. "You wanted to help, didn't you? And I did all the work anyway!"
"The nerve! I've put all my hard work and ambition into this work!"
Chrome just shook his head. "Anyway... we're almost done. Just these few more crates here and we're done."
Gen sighed with mock suffering and flopped down theatrically next to one of the remaining crates. "Well, let's take another look at it before I die of exhaustion."
He opened one of the dusty boxes and began to look through the contents. 'Oh! This doesn't look like Senku's typical junk...'
He looked over at Chrome, who was already sorting again. "Hey Chrome, do you know if Senkuu-chan has worked on CDs?"
Chrome looked up from his box and frowned. "CDs? Like that glass disc?"
Gen nodded. "Yep! Exactly right! Only these aren't made of plastic. They look just like the CDs from our time."
'Did Senkuu-chan really make them? And alone? But why?'
Chrome came closer and eyed the silver disc suspiciously and curiously. "So bad!! But I don't remember Senku working on that?"
'At the same time, Senku has been showing me all his new inventions lately and explaining them to me.'
"Where did you find them?"
Gen pointed to the sealed wooden box in the crate. It was old, but surprisingly well-preserved. "In here. And the most exciting thing? There's no address on the CDs. No indication of who they're from."
Only two words can be read on the box: 'Dr. Stone.'
There was silence for a moment. Then Chrome leaned forward, his eyes sparkling with curiosity and concern. "Wait a minute... you mean this is a message for us? But from whom and how did it end up here?"
Gen grinned. "Hmm, that's hard to say. But every mystery has an answer, Chrome-chan!"
They exchanged a meaningful glance.
"We should ask the others what they think", Chrome suggested.
Gen nodded and took the box of CDs. "My thought, dear Chrome! Let's gather the generals."
'At this very moment, Senkuu-chan is in Ishigami Village—what a coincidence!'
Without hesitation, the two went to see the other two generals on Ukyō and Ryusui—not realizing that they might be setting something in motion that was greater than anything they had discovered so far.
