Work Text:

It was the first day of college when Carmen first laid eyes on Ibolya, and in that instant, she felt something shift inside her. Love—if that was even possible at first sight—settled into her bones like a quiet storm.

Ibolya sat a few rows ahead, her short hair falling effortlessly across her face, framing high cheekbones dusted with a natural pink flush. The warm glow of the afternoon sun streaming through the classroom windows made her features even more striking. She had a presence—something about the way she carried herself, confident but not intimidating, made it impossible for Carmen to look away.

And so she stared, completely entranced, oblivious to the fact that the rest of the world was still moving around her. She barely registered the professor’s voice, the scratch of pens on paper, or the quiet hum of conversation.

Then, before she could snap out of it, Ibolya turned, caught her gaze, and smiled.

Carmen’s heart stopped.

Ibolya walked toward her, and Carmen, still in a daze, realized too late that she had been staring the whole time.

“Hey! I’m Ibolya. What’s your name?” The words were light, cheerful, effortless. Her voice had a melodic lilt to it, as if she found joy in the simple act of introducing herself.

Carmen’s throat went dry. She opened her mouth, closed it again, then forced herself to focus.

“I—I’m Carmen,” she finally managed, her voice quieter than she intended.

Ibolya didn’t seem to mind. She just smiled again, and for the rest of the hour, Carmen barely heard a single word of the lecture.

When class ended, Carmen packed up her things in a daze, still trying to process what had just happened.

And then, the impossible happened.

As they stood outside the classroom, waiting for their dorm assignments, Carmen scanned the list—and felt her breath hitch in her throat.

There, beside her name, was Ibolya’s.

They were roommates.

For a brief moment, Carmen thought she might actually explode.

As she stepped inside a wave of fresh air hit her, the window was sitting wide open. As she looked to her right, her chin hitting her shoulder she noticed ibolya.

She gathered her thoughts and glanced at her. She was just as beautiful as the last time she saw her.
Her big blue eyes piercing Carmen’s heart

Ibolya was sitting on the bed by the window, bathed in the soft golden light of the setting sun. Her short hair framed her face perfectly, shifting slightly in the breeze that rolled through the open window. She looked so effortlessly beautiful that Carmen almost forgot how to breathe.

For a moment, Carmen just stood there, gripping the strap of her bag, unsure of what to do. The room felt strangely intimate—just the two of them, alone for the first time.

Ibolya glanced up and caught Carmen staring again. A small, knowing smile curved her lips.

“You gonna just stand there, or are you gonna come in?” she teased, tilting her head playfully.

Carmen blinked, heat rising to her cheeks. “Oh—yeah. Right.” She cleared her throat and stepped further inside, setting her bag down on the bed that wasn’t already claimed.

Ibolya chuckled softly and leaned back on her elbows, stretching out like she was already completely at home. “So, Carmen, tell me something about you. If we’re gonna be roommates, we should at least pretend to know each other, right?”

Carmen hesitated. She wasn’t sure where to start—or what to say that wouldn’t make her sound ridiculous. I think I fell in love with you the moment I saw you didn’t seem like the best conversation starter.

“Uh… well,” she said, sitting down at the edge of her bed, fiddling with the hem of her sleeve. “I—I like reading. And music.”

Ibolya’s eyes lit up. “Oh, yeah? What kind of music?”

Carmen swallowed. “Mostly indie stuff. Some old rock, too.”

Ibolya grinned. “Nice. Maybe we’ll get along after all.”

Carmen tried to ignore the way her heart stuttered at those words.

As they talked, the sky outside darkened, the streetlights flickering on one by one. The air in the room grew softer, more comfortable, as if they’d already settled into a quiet rhythm together.

The days passed quickly, filled with classes, assignments, and late-night study sessions. Carmen and Ibolya soon fell into a rhythm—mornings spent rushing to lectures, afternoons buried in books at the library, and evenings unwinding in their shared room.

Carmen quickly learned that Ibolya had a sharp mind. She absorbed information effortlessly, rarely taking notes, yet always seeming to understand the material. Carmen, on the other hand, needed structure—color-coded notes, flashcards, carefully planned study schedules.

“You’re so serious about this,” Ibolya teased one evening, watching as Carmen highlighted yet another paragraph in their textbook.

Carmen huffed. “Well, yeah. I actually want to pass.”

Ibolya smirked. “So do I. I just don’t think drowning in notes is the way to do it. You need balance, Carmen. Come on, let’s take a break.”

Carmen shook her head. “I still have to finish this chapter.”

Ibolya groaned dramatically. “You’re impossible.” She stood and walked over to Carmen’s desk, plucking the highlighter from her fingers her lips grazing Carmens ear. “Fifteen minutes. That’s all I’m asking”

“You’re so needy” carmen turned her head around, their lips almost meeting. She griped Ibolya’s cheeks.

“I’ll make it quick, I swear” Ibolya promised. “Please, i need you”
She pleaded.

“Fine! But be fast, i have class in 30 minutes.” Carmen gave in easily.

Before she knew it their lips were brushing against each other on the couch. “Mph…mm” carmen moaned lightly just enough to send shivers through ibolya.

Carmen pulled away suddenly. “Listen, I really need to go. I have class in 10 minutes and I-“. Ibolya didn’t wait for her to finish her words, instead she pulled her in for a kiss
“Im not letting you go.” Under a second ibolya pulled Carmens shirt off her along with her own.
She turned the around placing Carmen under her. “ You dont know how much i need you right now”

Carmen’s breath caught as Ibolya’s teeth grazed along her neck, her body pressing her deeper into the worn cushions. The heat between them was unbearable — the kind of heat they’d been dancing around for months.

“I should go,” Carmen whispered again, but the way her hips arched up against Ibolya’s touch betrayed every word.

“You don’t want to go.” Ibolya’s voice was low, teasing, her fingers slipping beneath the waistband of Carmen’s jeans — not enough to give her what she wanted, just enough to make her squirm.

Carmen’s nails dug into Ibolya’s bare back, dragging red lines down soft skin. “I hate you.”

Ibolya’s breath caught — just for a second — before her mouth found Carmen’s again, hot and hungry.

“You love it.”

Her hand slid lower, fingers pressing exactly where Carmen needed them, pulling a ragged moan from her throat. The sound made Ibolya smile against her lips — like she’d won, like she always knew she’d win.

“Ten minutes,” she murmured, her mouth trailing down Carmen’s collarbone. “I’m going to ruin you.”

And God, Carmen was already late — but she couldn’t bring herself to care.

Carmen’s head tipped back against the couch, her breath coming out in shallow gasps as Ibolya’s mouth worked its way down her neck, teeth sinking into the delicate skin just hard enough to leave marks.

“You’re such a fucking tease,” Carmen muttered, her voice rough — but the way her legs tightened around Ibolya’s hips only betrayed how badly she wanted this.

Ibolya’s low, breathy laugh sent a shiver straight through her.

“You like it.”

Her fingers slipped lower, brushing over Carmen’s soaked underwear, barely there — just enough to make Carmen’s hips jerk against her hand.

“Beg me,” Ibolya whispered against her throat, her lips brushing sensitive skin with every word.

Carmen’s heart hammered in her chest. She wanted to fight back, to keep some sliver of control — but the way Ibolya was touching her, slow and lazy, like she had all the time in the world, made her mind go blank.

“Ibolya—”

“Beg.”

Carmen’s nails raked down Ibolya’s back, leaving red lines in her wake.

“Please.”

Ibolya’s mouth curved into a wicked smile against her skin.

“Good girl.”

And then her hand slipped beneath the fabric, fingers sliding against Carmen’s heat — and whatever smartass reply Carmen had ready died in her throat, swallowed by a broken moan.

Ibolya’s name tumbled from her lips, wrecked and desperate.

“Thought you had class,” Ibolya teased, her fingers working slow, steady circles that left Carmen trembling beneath her.

“Fuck… you.”

Ibolya’s mouth found Carmen’s again, swallowing every sound she made as she pushed her fingers deeper.

“Maybe next time.”

The next day carmen still couldn’t believe what happened. She barely slept the whole night, the thought of Ibolya’s fingers tracing and caressing her skin, her soft lips grazing against hers wouldn’t let her think straight . She could remember exactly where her fingers trailed, her scent still lingering on her.

She didn’t even notice how quickly the time passed, before she knew she was late to class again. “Oh, shit, shit” she murmured to herself, rushing around the room, searching for her books, when all of a sudden she heard Ibolya’s voice.
“Looks like someone’s in a rush.” She teased with a playful grin.
Carmen was ready to shut her down but as she turned around she saw ibolya standing inches away from her only in a sports bra and shorts

She was a bit taken aback by her sudden move, but she didn’t push her away.

Ibolya moved closer. Carmens breath hitched as she cupped her cheek.
“Im already late for class, I don’t have time for this right now”

“Ugh.. okay..” Ibolya sighed and let go of Carmen’s red face.

When she arrived to her class, the teacher was already talking. “Carmen, you’re late again? I expected better from you”

It was obvious that Carmen was trying to come up with an excuse, so she just blurted out the first thing that came out of her mouth. “I- slept in..” she stuttered.

“Just go, take a seat” said firmly the teacher.
