Work Text:
Amy wasn't used to downtime. From life as an underground freedom fighter, to adventures across the world – and beyond! – she hadn't really had a home to go back to in a long time.
Whenever she wasn't travelling, she'd been using Tekno's lab as a place to maintain her gear, and keep spare clothes. She'd sleep in the spare bed. Tekno would work on whatever wacky gadget she was working on at the time, and something would come up to get them out on a new mission.
But it had been quiet lately. Peaceful. No one had needed their help in over a month. Now she was just... living life. Her home base had become a home.
The strangest part to Amy was how none of this felt strange. Her whole life she'd been a girl who couldn't sit still, who always had to be doing something. She prided herself on it. But right now, she'd actually let herself relax. She had settled down. And the only thing that was really different was... who she was settling down with.
“Hey, Tekno,” Amy said. “Are we a couple?”
Tekno looked at her blankly. “...are we not?” she asked.
“Well, we've never been on a date or anything, right?” Amy asked.
“But we've done everything together for the last year,” Tekno said. “Sorry, I guess I assumed...”
“No, that's not – it's not that I don't want to, it's just... when did it start?”
“Hard to say,” Tekno mused. “We've never kissed or anything, but I figured you just didn't want to deal with the beak.”
Amy thought for a moment. The way Tekno talked, this must all be so simple to her.
She kissed Tekno on the cheek. “I suppose as long as I get to stay with you, it doesn't really matter.”
Tekno gave her a smile. “Don't worry, I'm not flying the nest any time soon!"
