Chapter Text
The rain was all but an onslaught, spewing hail that struck like a thousand beats against a past beloveds door. A prayer, a demand.
Love me.
Love me.
Love me.
And yet all that was birthed was not love but terror. A blinding agony to know that to beg for is not to have.
But to not have was far from not needing.
The droplets built to their crescendo, from beats to strikes, love held in the fists that broke teeth, that bruised and bled in true proof of care. Like hands that could embrace and in an instant bring claws through the gooseflesh.
Hard against the cobbles, a constant thrum, a conductor with a baton held to the heavens. Exhaustion of the orchestral melody in pursuit. Look at him and him alone.
Higher, higher, adrenaline thrumming. A crash, all but a waterfall from the celestial above, tears, sweat, blood, glistening in the muted light.
Crashing. crashing. crashing. Roaring so overwhelming it did not demand so much as command.
Listen.
No, try, dare to block it out.
