Makino's grandma was a wise woman,she may not have been strong but she was more intelligent than most people,so when her grandma tell Makino something she always believed her whit her while heart and never once think do anything aganist her grandma's teachings.
well at least it was like that until Garp the marine hero bring his grandson to village and decided to best person to take care of his newborn grandson is 14 years Makino
Garp's origin was a well known fact among the villagers so Makino wasn't surprised about Luffy very not human fangs,but who in their right mind trust a child care to a teenager?Well ofcourse Makino wasn't the only one that take care of Luffy his care was more like a village duty,But most of the viligers was old and can't take care of a child too much so Luffy was mostly whit Makino who wasn't very interested in sea,adventures and piracy and you don't need to be genius to understand Luffy was lonly and don't have anyone to talk but that doesn't mean he can bring a pirate crew to her bar.(not to mention all of that pirate crew was monsters!)
Makino nearly passed out when she saw red haired man,alongside his very red he had a scar on his face that screams "l am dangerous."
Red haired man notice Makino's silence and decided to make the first move.
"Hello miss,we heard this is best place we can find alcohol here around here and me and my crew can really use some now!"
shanks speak while smile brightly and not gonna lie if his fangs wasn't there that bright smile could fool Makino and make her forget he was a monster and a pirate
while Makino was still unresponsive Shanks talked to his first mate
"Ben l think we broke her"
Ben answered him while light his cigarette
"who is we? Since we came here you're the only one that talk to her so if someone broke her that would be you."
The betrayal in Shanks's face could see all across the village,he put his hand on his heart and argue with his first mate.
"Ben you old hag,how would you say something like that!To me to me to your captain"
While Ben open his mouth to argue back a little girls voice echo in the room.
"Shanks stop act like stupid if l saw a bunch of half naked man with weapons l would act like deaf too so please first introduce yourself"
A loud laughter come from crew,they were look oddly pleased to their captain's betrayed face.
And with crew's loud laughter Makino finally come to her senses.
"i'm sorry for the late response i was little surprised since we don't see pirates much around here,please take a seat i'll bring some alcohol"
"No need for an apology miss,we're entrance wasn't the best one either so l guess we're equal now."
Makino smiled at red-haired pirate and go to the storage room to get some alchol, for now only think she know about that pirate crew was that their captain has a charming smile.

Makino wasn't sure about what to think about red-haired pirates but they were seem nice enough and Luffy was already all over the captain so only think she could do serve them alcohol and hope for the best.
While Luffy and Uta started to argue over some random reason Shanks take advantage and turned to Makino.
"So miss Makino are we as fearsome as you think?"
That question caught Makino off guard but she still managed to give him a proper answer.
"Well you guys are not as fearsome as l think but can you blame we don't see pirates around here often."
"l can guess that much of it since we came here a single soul didn't move around the village!"
there was a little pause but Shanks contain to speak.
"But l guess you guys are not unfamiliar with monsters as unfamiliar with pirates hmm?"
Shanks said that while looking at Luffy so Makino understand what he meant.
Makino was hesitant to whatever answer his question or not but she decided to answer it.
"Well we're familiar with luffy and his family but that's it so l can't say we're familiar with monsters either."
"Oh so we're arrival was a double shock for villagers now i'm kinda feel bad."
Shanks laughed and then direct another question for Makino.
"You said Luffy's family so i assume your not a part of it,am l right?"
Makino can't put her finger to why he would want to know about her situation with Luffy but she answered honestly.
"No i'm not,his relatives mostly out of the village for job so villagers take care of him mostly."
After Makino answered the question crews laughters grew more and more and that's when Shanks knew it was time for them to leave.
"It was a lovely day Miss Makino,hope to see you again."
And with that one sentence crew started to leave while their captain paid the alcohol's price,after see the amount of money they spend on alcohol Makino tought she wouldn't mind if they come again.
