Chapter Text
Cassandra sighs, running her hand up and down her face a few times before opening her eyes and glancing at the scout in front of her, and then putting her head back in her hands and resting her elbows on the table in front of her. She really, honest to Maker, hopes it's better news than ‘More scouts have gone missing’. They couldn't afford to send more of them out just to risk their lives.
“We believe we have found who is guilty of the explosion of The Temple of Sacred Ashes and the Breach that followed it, Seeker”
She looks back up at the scout immediately. “Where are they?” She demands, she has to know where they are, so she can find out why they did it, why they destroyed the chantry and the very thin alliance of mages and Templars.
“She's in the cells Lady Cassandra” the scout pauses, “I feel I must warn you, Lady Cassandra, she is very,” he pauses again “temperamental”
Cassandra almost fails in resisting rolling her eyes. The most temperamental person Cassandra had ever met was her baby sister, and because of that she has very extreme doubts that she wouldn't be able to handle the woman that was in the cell.
“Thank you for the warning scout James, but I believe I can handle it” she looks at the scout again “get Leliana, I may need her while investigating the prisoner”.
The scout salutes and runs off to do her request.

The closer to the cell she gets the angrier she becomes. This bastard blew up the Temple of Sacred Ashes and had the gall to survive it?
If Cassandra didn't end up killing her she would personally throw her to the demons falling out of the sky and killing her people.
“Maybe you should try and calm down before you interrogate her, Cassandra”
“I am calm,” she growls.
Leliana gives her a look. Cassandra rolls her eyes.
She then opens the door with a hard slam, being as dramatic and angry as she can without talking(she learned from the best[her father]), and then she freezes.
She looks at the girl in the big white and pink dress, covered in dirt, mud, ash, and dried blood and viscera, and that looks alarmingly like her sister, her baby sister.
Her baby sister is in front of her, sitting on the dirty floor, an enraged look on her face. Her baby sister is sitting on the dirty floor with handcuffs on her wrists.
Cassandra turns to the closest scout and demands, “Where is the prisoner, because I know for a fact my little sister didn't do shit”, her voice gets louder and louder until she ends with a yell.
Leliana looks at her in shock at her swear. In the short time they had been talking, where Cassandra had looked so enraged her face turned bright red, where she had been yelling at anyone in front of her right after the explosion, she never once swore.
And during Leliana’s internal panic, the scout in front of her starts to stumble over her words, “We- uh she-she was the only one there-the only one in the ruins- at the uhm explosion area”, she tapers off looking increasingly nervous at the look Cassandra was sending her.
Her sister yells, “And as I've been telling you scopa the entire time, I didn't do merda”
“Get her out of these cuffs, now” she growls, anger flashing in her eyes.
The scout she was speaking(chough yelling cough) to scampers to let her sister go.
She stands up, brushing off what little she can on her skirt, and glares at Cassandra.
“I didn't realize you were here sorella”, she snarls “I thought you ran off to-” she cuts off, yelping in pain and clutching her hand, falling down because of the pain she was in.
Her sister was in pain, no, her sisters hand was in pain, her sisters bright green glowing hand, her bright green glowing hand that was causing her pain.
Cassandra rushes to her, grabbing her shoulder, not quite sure what she should do to help.
The glow stops, yet Cassandra's worry does not
When Leliana finally collects herself(yes it did take that long, why do you ask?) she says, “I do believe we need to try and do something to close the Breach, and her hand might be some help, at least according to Solas”
Cassandra turns to her, scowl deep on her face, “What are you thinking? I refuse to-”
“I'll help”
Cassandra looks back at her, a big mix of concern, fear, and anger on her face, “Absolutely not I will not-”
“Someone that has not been in my life for twenty cazzo years doesn't get to dictate what I do” she growls.
Cassandra looks at her in pain and then sighs, “Leliana go to the forward camp, I'll take my sister to the rift”
She nods and walks out of the cell. Cassandra then shoots all the scouts glare, “All of you, out, now”, at the demand of the Seeker, the scouts all run out(shocking really).
She stands, once again brushing her dress off with no real purpose other than to stall. Cassandra opens her mouth, closes it, and opens it once more.
“I do still care, Cass-”
She cuts her off “No Cassandra you don't care, because if you did care you would have sent a letter, but you didn't, so you clearly don't”
Cassandra knows that her sister is right, that after she left she never sent anything, but she does still truly care. “I- sorellina please just” she sighs.
Cass takes a deep breath, “We can talk later, Andy. I do still want to know how this” she lifts up her hand, “can help”.
Cassandra looks at her sister, really looks at her, and sighs, “Fine, later”
