Many people knew the teenage twins Aether and Lumine for their looks or well they got along so well but something that everybody knew about them was how wealthy they were. With that money, they would travel to all the corners of the earth. They lived in Singapore with their mother or well more like their staff because their mother never comes home. They’ve been to 62 countries and all of the Polynesian islands and now they were traveling again. This time they were going to the United States. It was also their first time on a commercial airline because their pilot was on vacation so they couldn’t fly their private jet.
When they arrived airport the stood in awe. It was so crowded and the chatter of people in the background was very overwhelming.
“Ok so we’re looking for gate 7 right?” Lumine asked.
“I’m pretty sure…I think we need to do the check in first though”
The twins got in line for the security check right behind a family of 8 with 3 toddlers an infant and 2 grade school children. They all seemed tired and impatient. Behind them was an overly passionate couple and let’s just say that it got annoying really fast. By the time they went through the medal detector they were tired of being on their feet and having to listen to two equally annoying things at the same time. Aether ran to a bench and laid down it pitting his hands over his eyes.
“Lumineeeee I’m tired i don’t know how much more of this I can take” he whined loudly
“Shut up there are people here stupid! Suck it up”
Aether groans and sits up
“Fine let’s go”

“Ok this is it. Gate 7” Lumine finally allows herself to relax and sits on one of the many chairs. Aether had gotten a bag of chips from one of the shops in the airport and he was lying down again watching a movie on his phone while eating Doritos. Their plane didn’t board till 7:30 and it was 6:45 so they had a bit of time. After about 20 minutes of waiting a girl sits down next to them she has red hair done into intricate braids in a half up half down style. She had soft green eyes and freckles on her face. The woman was definitely older than Lumine and Aether but she had a giant blue and purple narwhal plush in her hands that made the woman’s resting bitch face look a lot less scary.
“Lumine! Look! Mom is on the news!”
Aether shouted while sitting up, spilling his Doritos.
“Oops”
“Look Aether I don’t even want to know what she did this time. Let’s just enjoy our trip without mentioning that sorry excuse of a mother!” Lumine was getting worked up and they were starting to attract attention from the other people in the gate as well
“Whatever we’re going to be boarding in a few minutes so get off your ass and clean yourself up”
“Rude but fine whatever” Aether throws his Dorito bag away, puts his phone in his pocket, and picks up his suitcase.
It was crowded getting into the plane but once they saw their first class seats, it was worth it. They had purchased first class and there was tons of space and even a bar farther up. There were 3 rows of 2 seats right next to each other and the twins sat down at their spots. There were tv’s and blankets with the chair that also turns into a bed also a window divider in between the 2 seats.
“Oh god I hate commercial flights this is the first and last time I’ll ever do this.” Lumine sighs “don’t wake me up”
“Yes ma’am” Aether says while rolling up the divider in the middle of their 2 seats. This was going to be a long 20 hours.

“Lumine! Wake up we’re here”
“Already?”
“Yes already now let’s go!”
Lumine looked out the window and it seemed around morning or early afternoon. After they got their bags at the baggage claim they saw their ride waiting for them at the entrance.
They were in the city of Chicago so they saw lots of stuff like that bean thing and the tallest tower. They arrived at their hotel around 11 pm and got ready for bed.
“Lumine?”
“What?”
“Can we keep traveling together like this? I know we started it because we needed to get away from mom but I actually like this.”
“I do too and yeah I want to keep traveling….together”
Lumine smiles softly at her brother who was sitting on the hotel bed gripping the sheets.
“What if-“ he pauses “what if we don’t go back home after this trip. We can go somewhere else right after this, anywhere else but I don’t wanna go back home”
Aether was tearing up and Lumine rushed to his side and comforted him
“It’s ok I get it and I’m not saying no ok? Let’s not ruin our first trip to the US with tears alright?”
Aether nods and chuckles softly and sniffles a bit
“What would I do without you?”
They spent the rest of the week touring the city and eating fancy American food. Soon, their week was coming to a close and it was time to move onto the next country. This time they were able to fly their private jet because the pilot came back from who knows where.
“I told the pilot to take us to our summer house in Cancun so we don’t have to go back home alright?” Lumine reassured
“Thanks lumi” Aether beamed
They were about to board onto the plane when they heard a loud THUD come from the cockpit.
The twins backed away from the plane cautiously looking around. A woman emerged from the plane. She had titanium white hair and looked like she came from a secretary office. She had red gloves on and 2 pistols in her hands
“Sorry little travelers”
she cocks her guns and stares straight at the twins
“Your journey ends here”
Lumine was in panic mode. She didn’t think that this is where she’ll die. By the hands of some random office assassin lady. Next in the corner of her eye she spots her brother breathing heavily and looking at the ground. Then next thing she knows, her brother was lunging at the woman full speed and shouting
“GO TO HELL”
He had grabbed his backpack and chucked it at the woman then went to punch her. she grabbed his wrist and shot him in his thigh as a warning.
“You arrogant children. I’ll be sure to fix that later.” with that she knocks out Aether and throws him to the side.
“Now sweetheart are you willing to come quietly?”
Lumine fumed and stared at her brother’s unconscious form.
“You bitch! That’s my brother you messed with!”
Lumine got ready to attack but the woman’s demeanor did not change. Lumine tried to swing at her but the woman hit her head with the butt end of her pistol. Then she kicked the younger girl right in the stomach leaving her bruised and couching up blood.
Through Lumine’s blurred vision she could see her brother being lifted up and hoisted over the woman’s shoulder.
With the last bit of consciousness she had left she yelled as loud as she could
“WAIT STOP! GIVE MY BROTHER BACK”
Then her vision went black.
