destined kill (with a gun)

Summary:

Names have meaning. In the case of Shelly de Killer and Deid Mann, these meanings oppose each other.

This is what happens when you write a fic in frantic fanfic with a one minute timer while hiding the previous parts.

Work Text:

"We meet again, De Killer."
Shelly looked his opponent in the eye. This moment was
--------------------
a short one but felt likje an eternity.
Deid Mann looked at the assassin with his chin raised high.
"How is your brother?"
"You mean Deodat Mann? "
--------------------
"Yes," said De Killer, and a single tear trickled out of Deid's left orb. The sun gleamed off his glorious mustache as De Killer observed nonchalantly.
"He is alive and well. For now. You had better not do anything to Deodat."
--------------------
"I would never harm Deodat in any way," Deid Mann said to the assassin standing in front of him.
--------------------
Shelly de Killer knew better than to take him at his word and scrutinised him some more.
"You say you don't want to harm him, yet you're adding glass to a mug of his."
"I was cleaning the glass up! I am not trying to kill anyone! Please don't kill me!"
Shelly de Killer
--------------------
, as his name suggested, wanted to kill. And a perfect victim would be a person already named "Dead Man", right? The glass could just stay in the cup. But no... That was too easy. To assassinate, it requires skill, finesse. Shelly De Killer wanted to do it properly. With a gun.
--------------------
Therefore he pulled out the biggest glock he had in his collection, polishing the gun with a handkerchief. "Count your days and the bullets they will dig out of your body."
Shelly disappeared into the shadows, watching Deid Mann from afar. Slowly, he raised his weapon and aimed it at the man, who carried his fate in is name. Just like any Ace Attorney character, like what the hell. Suddenly a
--------------------
gust of wind blew a single grain of sand into Shelly's eye, and Deid Mann's instincts activated like a primal urge. He leapt into action, diving for Shelly and his glock.
De Killer felt the weight of the man's body knock into him, and tumbled to the floor. In a desperate attempt, he pulled out one of his six backup knives, but Deid Mann had already taken control of the glock and had it pointed right at Shelly's stitches.
"Oh hyow the have the turns tabled," said the Mann.
--------------------
"Oh you'd like that wouldn't you? But unfortunately for you, I have a husband and several chicken at home waiting for me, so you literally cannot kill me. They give me the power to do THIS," he said as he threw himself at the Mann and took control of the glock again.
The Mann went quiet. "Why are we even fighting and risking our lives?"
--------------------
"Because you are destined to die, and I am de Killer. We cannot escape the fate that our names have bestowed onto us."
Deid Mann let out a sigh, knowing that there was no escaping this.
"Could I at least arrange for someone to look after my cat once I'm gone?"
Shelly was take aback. He had no idea that Deid Mann had a cat! He reevaluated his plans.
"Maybe I am de Killer, but maybe I won't have to be your killer afterall. You shall live another day."
He then walked
