all her glory

Summary:

a person can only live through three genus of love...

the first love; a raw love just on the surface that breaks through the threshold of solitary,
the second love; one that brings turmoil into the maturing mind, that grows the roots of understanding and grief,
the third love; an unconditional love that fashions the true home a soul needs, promising an unbreakable eternity

what happens when you experience all of these loves... but with just one person, namely a soulmate?

Chapter Text

betty lin was never much of the outspoken type.
she was more of an observer or a daydreamer, regardless, she never liked the spotlight or the attention.
though she had her moments, especially since she had caught the eye of the eminent golden trio of the school, and had somehow managed to develop a friendship with them.

she was a smart girl, very careful and meticulous with her actions and thinking. perhaps that was how she had landed a spot in the ravenclaw house.
she considered her life adequate enough. she had a proper family, though she didn't have a father figure. she didn't require one anyway, she was content with her mother and her two younger siblings.

until her life took a sharp turn, and she found herself facing the possibility of imminent danger with the return of voldemort and his minions.

it was hard enough being a teenager who had to learn to fight for her survival while keeping up with her academics. but now, with the thorny background of her family interlacing with her originally simple life, she also has to fend for herself, protect her family, and work as a double agent against her will.

it is impossibly hard to carry these burdens alone, so what happens when she finds an unbearably exasperating - slightly privileged - boy who shares the same despairing fate as her.

--

draco malfoy was the boy whom she had spent her earlier years resenting and scorning.
he was someone she had grown to avoid due to the heavy efforts and lengthy time he had spent poking fun at her throughout her life.

he had the luxury, the sought-after looks, the notable name attached to his person, and the ability to get away with whatever rebellion and mischief. people would say he had everything a young wizard could ever wish for, and it was proven specifically through the way he acted out.

despite it all, it wasn't what he needed. as people say, you always want what you don't have.
and he was still a boy whom nobody tried to understand, a boy whom people only judged solely based on the way he treats others and the expectations and roles set upon him.

but what if, like betty, he did not want to resign to the fate that was given to him from birth. and what if he needed the support of another to garner the courage to do so, someone who could understand him and lend him a hand.

lives intertwine, fate materialises, feelings change.
