It was a nice day.
Starlight woke up before her brother, sneaking out to let him have more sleep before going downstairs and smelling the sweet scent of bacon and eggs.
She peeked from the door frame, and sure enough, her foster parents were there.
Crayon was asleep on the table, probably catching up on the sleep he lost last night, while Eyes Cream was the one cooking.
She was about to enter when she heard her brother come down and yawn.
“Starlight… why are you there-”
“Shhhh!! Be quiet!”
Her brother, now curious, joined her as they both peeked from the door frame.
They saw Eyes cream, now plating their food, as he went to Crayon’s side and smiled however way he could.
And unbeknownst to them, they knew full well the kids were there.
“... You know you can’t do anything right now…”
Crayon sleepily whispered, his eyes ever so slightly cracking open as his eyes were filled with the warm light hitting Eyes Cream’s jar of eyes.
“... You’re too bright in the morning.”
As the teacher turned around, Eyes Cream couldn’t help but giggle ever so lightly as he walked over to where Crayon was looking and lay on his side to look at him.
“You stayed up grading homework, didn’t you?”
Crayon couldn’t help but lightly scoff as he turned to bury his face in his arms.
“I need it done for tomorrow…”
“Well, tomorrow is Sunday, so don’t overwork yourself and spend time with us tomorrow, okay?”
Crayon sighed as he turned back to look at his man, smiling as he nodded.
And with that, Eyes Cream held his hands gently.
“Good… Now it’s time to scare those suckers.”
Immediately, Eyes Cream stood up and looked directly at them, stomping playfully as he acted like the big bad wolf about to blow their house down.
And so, that was how Eyes Cream got his morning exercise done by chasing the two kids as they ran and laughed around the house, making their home much more lively.
And Crayon? Well, he was enjoying his morning with his family, smiling as he watched them have fun.
It was a lovely day in their home.
