"Alright, Sonic! I’m going to defeat you and your little horse girlfriend!”

“I told you, I’m a pegasus!”

“The only one who’s going down here is you, Eggman!”

“We’ll see about that!” replied Doctor Eggman as he summoned a robot seemingly out of nowhere. “And what do you have, Sonic?”

The hedgehog let a small, mocking smile appear on his face before confidently answering, “Dignity.”

Hold on a second, I think we need a little context...

We’re standing in front of Canterlot High School; Sonic the Hedgehog and Rainbow Dash (who for some reason is a pony) are about to start a battle against the evil Doctor Eggman, who wants to take over the school grounds while everyone’s away on vacation... (though it’s not like the students could have done much to defend the school anyway).

However, as epic as this battle might be, they aren’t the main characters here, so we’re not going to keep focusing on them.

The one we actually care about is behind some bushes. Lost and with no idea how she got there, the beautiful Rarity is sitting at the school entrance, not giving much importance to the fact that a dangerous battle is about to break out just 30 meters away.

"Hey you!" said a voice, breaking the silence. "Watch out!"

"What?" exclaimed Rarity, just as she felt something—or rather someone—picking her up.

"Hi there!"—greeted... Alex Kidd? Wait, but—

"WTF, who is this random guy?"

Meanwhile, the battle between Eggman, Rainbow, and Sonic had already started; Doctor Eggman was bombing the school building. One of those bombs landed right next to where Alex and Rarity were.

"Don’t worry, miss," said the boy as he started running with surprising calm, "everything’s going to be fi-"

A light started surrounding them, first from behind, then from the sides, wrapping their bodies in warmth.

"That light... it’s coming from behind me, isn’t it?" Rarity thought. "Then why do I feel it surrounding me? What just happened?"

"I'm fine," said Alex.

"Kid? Kid, are you okay?" Rarity asked, as if she hadn't just seen a bomb explode against his back.
