Chapter Text
Logan let out his claws, looking at Cyclops who still was laughing out loud. "Ah, this is hilarious." He coughed out. Jean, meanwhile, had tears in her eyes from laughing. Logan shook his head "It is not that unbelievable, really."
He scoffs, looking at Scott, who still was laughing his lungs out. "Man, I heard the 'What, really, that...' in my office" Jean meanwhile had sat down on the couch in Logan’s office. She was chuckling "Logan this is literally the third time this happens."
Scott visibly flinched when a voice appeared behind them. "The third time what happened?" It was Storm, accompanied by Professor X. "They are laughing about the fact that John was surprised about the fact that I am dating Wilson. Like seriously, it's not that surprising" Logan grumbled out. But he still retracted his claws.
"No, I mean you are the nicest, so clearly loving guy who so openly and much cares about others. No, I can't really see why they are surprised." Charles says sarcastically with a grin. Logan turns to him, "If that is so unbelievable and shocking, I wonder how they would react if they figured out that you and Erik were dating."
Jean and Scott burst into laughter again immediately, and Ororo also chuckled. Charles just rolled his eyes. “For the hundredth time, we were not dating,” he sighs. Logan just raised an eyebrow, absolutely not believing him. The Professor shakes his head. “You guys, please,” he says, and they continue to laugh for a while.
Storm was the first one to calm down again. “Yeah, look, we don’t believe you for a second. But really, how is Erik doing?” she asks with a slight grin, knowing that Charles had gone to visit him in prison.
Charles shook his head. “You’re impossible. But Erik is okay, as far as I know,” he said, though it was obvious he was trying to sound more nonchalant than he actually was.
Scott just chuckled, still with some tears in his eyes from laughing. "But on the other hand, what do you actually want?” he asked, knowing that Charles probably wouldn’t be there just for a normal chit-chat.
The Professor sighed. „I will explain as soon as you all calm down,” he said in a voice that was oddly like the one he used when he was talking to young students. But they did calm down and looked at him, waiting for him to start explaining.
Well, except for Storm, who obviously already knew and just stood there with a calm grin on her face. “We met a new mutant with a very interesting ability,” Charles started to explain, while the others listened, intrigued, wondering what exactly he meant by “interesting ability.”
“They can show people their future, well more precisely, a potential future. They would use it on me, but it would also affect you, because it would show it to the people important in my life,” Charles explained calmly.
Or at least, he tried to do so. Even then, Logan, Scott, and Jean still looked just as clueless as they had before. Charles just calmly continued. “We would be transported to another dimension where we would watch a possible future of our lives if we continued without seeing it. Meaning, we could see the mistakes we would normally make and then change them.”
The others stayed silent for a moment before Logan slowly nodded. “So that could actually be interesting,” he said. Scott and Jean also slowly nodded. “So, you told us and some others. Who would that be?” Jean asked with a smile, voicing the question everyone had been wondering about.
Charles looked over to Jean. “Good question. We can’t say for sure. The mutant said they can vary depending on which part of the story we watch, because we will be watching the story parts as movies some including the past. But I believe we can make some educated guesses,” he explained, apparently not knowing the exact answer himself.
Scott scoffed after a second of consideration. “Let me just quickly point out that someone important in your life is also Magneto.” Storm and Logan also didn’t look very happy, clearly not liking Erik personally, while Jean seemed mostly concerned.
The Professor grimaced. “Yeah, it’s not unlikely that he will be there. So, I see why you’re worried. However, the mutant assured me that even though we will be able to use our abilities in this dimension, it won’t be possible to kill anyone. Besides, I don’t think Erik would try to kill us.”
Logan visibly rolled his eyes “hopefully but I really am interested so let’s do this” the other three mutants didn’t argue on that and Charles after a few seconds of science smiled “good I will inform them immediately.”
He then turned to leave, but not before he chuckled. “I’m really intrigued to see how many things we’ll see that will make the students react like they did when they found out you have a boyfriend, Logan.” Ororo, Scott, and Jean broke into laughter again.
As soon as the mutant used their ability, chaos erupted. It didn’t even take two seconds before everyone who hadn’t known it was coming started screaming at each other. Hank couldn’t make out much through the screaming, but it seemed like Bobby, Rogue, and Johnwere accusing Raven and Magneto and those two were, in turn, accusing the X-Men.
Magneto, mainly Charles, who which Hank quickly noticed was strangely calm for just being teleported God knows where. So, it wasn’t too surprising when the Professor reached out to all of them with a telepathic link.
“Please calm down, everyone,” the professor asked them. The students, to no one’s surprise, calmed down and looked at Charles. What was more surprising, however, was how Erik listened to Charles. The mutant visibly was still angry but had fallen silent.
Charles, after the chatter stopped, explained the same thing he had just explained before to the teachers who were standing in a corner of the room. Apparently enjoying the reaction of everyone else, even when Logan glared visibly angry at Erik. The others also weren’t too happy that he was there.
“But why are they here?” John scoffed, nodding towards Erik and Raven. Fortunately, Charles was fast enough before either of the two could react. “Because they are important in my life story, and believe it or not, they are not inherently evil.”
Everyone either smirked or rolled their eyes at the statement. Erik looked over at Charles and shook his head. “You’re impossible, you know that?” Charles just grinned.
Suddenly, a big screen appeared in front of them, simultaneously, three couches appeared behind them. This made everyone look around, confused. I believe you all are ready, so please take a seat.”
The voice sounded like a young person speaking and was hauling throughout the room. Most of them just ignored the logic behind that, and everyone who did correctly assumed that it was the mutant in whose ability they were.
The three students immediately took the couch on the far left. Erik and Mystique sighed and got on the couch on the right side. So that easily, someone could have taken a seat next to them. But none of the teachers looked like they were ready to do it. So instead, they squished together on the middle couch, which surprisingly extended when they did so.
Charles, meanwhile, rolled his wheelchair in between the middle and the right couch, which meanwhile had shrunk a bit.
The screen suddenly turned on and at first showed a black screen. Simultaneously, the voice of the mutant appeared again.
“Now, formally welcome to this watch party.”
The screen started to show what they also where reading out loud
“I: Don’t try to kill each other.
It isn’t possible but still, it is quite straining for me
II: The movie will stop if you have something to discuss
Discussion is important and encouraged.
III: No trying to leave
You won’t be able to do so either, but it is again straining for me, so please
IV : Try to keep an open mind.
Not everything is as simple as you currently think it is, so allow your opinions and views to be changed by what you will see.
V: Everything you will see in this movie did happen
Do not try to deny this”
The there was some scoffing heard in the room, but also some chuckling. Mostly, the mutants, however, just were confused, not knowing what to expect.
“This is going to be a catastrophe,” Scott whispered to Jean, who, after a moment of consideration, shrugged. “Honestly, not unlikely.”
“If we must stay here, we can maybe at least get the weakness of the troop” Erik whispered to Raven. Charles, who was next to them, still could hear him. “Erik, please” he sighed. Erik just shook his head at Charles’ comment, and Raven shot a glare at the Professor. “Shouldn’t have dragged us here then.”
The screen turned back to black again and the movie started.
Narrator: “Mutation is the key to our Evolution.”
