There’s a bright light coming through my eyes. Then, somewhere, across the way…I see trees and flowers blooming everywhere. It’s a beautiful sight to see in your dreams. But then, I hear the voice of a little girl. She is somewhere around here. I had to rush over to find the source of the playful sounds. But they are nowhere to be seen.
“Hello?” I call out.
There is no answer. It’s almost as if…something is luring me to my doom. But then I realize this is how dreams are. Maybe it’s just a figment of my imagination. It does seem like it, doesn’t it? However, I am about to just take in the beauty of nature I’m currently in, when I’m suddenly startled by the young girl in front of me, looking at me with the cutest eyes ever to imagine.
She looks about five to seven years old. Her hair is jet black and wavy. And her skin is white as snow. I look around, if she were to be anyone’s daughter…or cousin…or sister…or niece. But I don’t see anyone else. The silence is loud enough for me and this little girl. My heart breaks for her being separated from her mother, father, or brother. She just looks too innocent.
I kneel to her and gently put my hand around her shoulder.
“Are you lost?” I ask.
The little girl tilts her head, as if she doesn’t understand me. Luckily, I do speak Japanese.
“ Mayotte imasu ka? ” I ask again.
The girl shakes her head and smiles. It’s one of the cutest smiles I have ever seen. She gives me a single white rose, and then the scene fades away. What is going on here? Then, I hear my name being called.
“Mitchell…? Mitchell!! ”
