Stan grimaced as he headed back towards base.
He’d updated Xeno on the situation shortly after that green haired boy stared directly at him. It had been unsettling.
He’d seen those very eyes go from anguished to burning with a fierce anger that promised violence as he’d shouted in English.
He’d been slightly surprised when he’d updated Xeno on what had been said. Apparently, this boy’s description matched that of Xeno’s little protege from ages ago.
The boy was apparently the true scientist. Xeno had ordered him back to base though. No kill shot ordered this time.
The mission had been a failure.
He’d been tasked with eliminating the enemy scientist, and he’d failed on the basis of false information, and Xeno wanted him to abort the mission?
He’d better have a damn good reason for making this a failed mission.
~~~~~~
Xeno smirked.
So, his little protege lived! Not too surprising considering how brilliant the child had been at such a young age all those years ago.
As soon as Stan had delivered Senku’s message to him, he’d ordered the sniper to come back to base. This particular scientist was too important to eliminate.
Looking back, he should have been doubtful about the scientist’s identity. No matter. With the message from Senku, Xeno had no doubt that he’d be seeing his little protege at some point in the near future.
With luck, if he could restrain the boy quickly, it would be possible to lure him into joining them.
It would take ages, especially considering they’d killed one of the boy’s own, but it wouldn’t be impossible.
Senku would join him.
If the boy wanted the rest of his crew to live, he’d have no choice.
People were still the boy’s weakness.
He could exploit that.
Senku would have no choice but to join him.
He wasn’t going to escape.
His protege had reawakened.
His protege would join him.
He’d kill every single one of the other brats of the baby scientist brigade and make him watch until he could drill it into the boy’s head that his only choice would be to join him.
