San’s phone sat on the table in front of him, buzzing with notifications. Yunho, always the more responsible one, tried to stop him before he did something crazy.
“San, you sure you wanna go live?” Yunho asked, glancing over at the phone, but San was already scrolling through his Instagram, setting up the live stream.
“Yeah, yeah, it'll be fun! Let’s talk to the fans!” San grinned, already holding the phone up with the camera facing him.
Meanwhile, across the room, Yeosang sat by himself, watching the whole thing unfold on his phone. His heart tightened in his chest as he saw the notification pop up that San had gone live. He wasn’t sure why he clicked, but before he knew it, he was silently watching from the sidelines, his eyes glued to the screen.
San rambled on for a few more minutes, talking about random stuff, but then, out of nowhere, he looked directly at the camera with a mischievous grin.
“Okay, okay, let’s get real,” San said, his voice slurring slightly. “I have something to confess. I know I’m drunk, but I gotta say it. I’ve been keeping this inside for too long, and I can’t do it anymore.”
Yeosang’s stomach dropped as he leaned forward, sensing what was coming next. His eyes widened as San’s words became more focused.
“You all know Yeosang, right?” San continued, his smile widening. “Well, he’s been driving me crazy for so long. Like, every time I see him, it’s like something inside me clicks. But I’ve been holding it back, ‘cause, you know, it’s complicated.”
Yeosang’s breath caught in his throat. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His fingers hovered nervously over the phone screen, not sure if he should keep watching or turn it off.
“But I’m done pretending, okay?” San’s voice grew more serious, though still tinged with alcohol. “I’m in love with Yeosang. I have been for a while now, and I’m tired of hiding it. I don’t care if I’m tipsy or whatever—I’m saying it. I love him.”
Yeosang’s eyes were wide in shock. He couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think. His mind raced, and all he could do was stare at the screen, frozen in place. He felt exposed, vulnerable in a way he wasn’t prepared for.
“I don’t care if it’s crazy,” San continued, not noticing how the comments were flooding in, some shocked, some supportive. “I just wanted to say it. I want him. And I don’t know what to do with myself right now, but I just needed to tell him, tell everyone.”
The phone in San’s hand shook slightly as he laughed nervously, but his eyes were sincere as he gazed into the camera. “So, Yeosang, if you’re watching this… I love you. Yeah, I said it. I love you.”
At that moment, Yeosang felt his heart beat in his chest, his breath shaky. His mind was overwhelmed with emotions—confusion, surprise, and an unexpected warmth that made his chest feel tight.
The comments on the live stream were pouring in at an overwhelming speed. Fans were typing everything from “Omg!!” to “Did San just confess?!” and “YEOSANG YOU NEED TO SEE THIS.” The packmates, who had been watching from the background, exchanged glances, unsure of how to react. They could see how genuinely San had spoken, even through the haze of alcohol.
As San sat there, still half-drunk and holding his phone in front of him, he started reading the live comments aloud. Yeosang, still watching from the other side, couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Choi San, give Yeosang to me!" one comment read.
San furrowed his brows and immediately shook his head, still grinning. "Sorry, Yeosang is mine," he said, with a mock serious tone. "I don’t have the slightest intention of giving him to you."
Yeosang’s heart skipped a beat. Did San really mean that? His fingers nervously tapped on the edge of the table as he continued to watch.
Yunho, who had been quietly sipping his drink beside San, stared at him, flabbergasted. "What?" Yunho burst out laughing, his voice filled with amusement. "Did you just say that?"
San, still holding his phone in front of him, grinned like a proud child. "Yeosang is mine, guys," he continued, his voice a little louder now. "I don’t have the slightest intention of giving him away. You guys can’t kiss him, right? I can kiss him."
Yeosang froze, his cheeks warming up instantly. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from the phone screen. What was he supposed to do now? Did he really hear that right?
Yunho laughed even harder, shaking his head in disbelief. "Why do you want to kiss him?" Yunho asked, looking at the comments scrolling past. “What’s so special about Yeosang?”
San raised his hand in the air dramatically, nodding like he was making a profound statement. "Yeosang’s like... so cute," he said, pausing as if to gather his thoughts. "But! He’s handsome. HOWEVER! He’s cute… BUT—"
Before San could finish, Yunho lightly slapped his cheek with the back of his hand, laughing. "Dude, you’re so drunk, stop it!" Yunho said, his voice full of amusement as they both burst into laughter.
San grinned, his head spinning slightly, but he didn’t care. He was speaking his truth, and honestly, he couldn’t stop now. "Hey, I’m serious! Yeosang is both cute and handsome. Like, what’s not to love?"
Meanwhile, Yeosang’s heart fluttered at San’s words. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing, especially with all of the comments flooding in, encouraging San’s drunken confession. Did San really mean it? Yeosang wondered, staring at his screen with a mix of confusion and warmth in his chest.
Later that night, after the Instagram live incident, Yunho was helping a barely conscious San stumble into his room, the alcohol clearly having hit him harder than expected. Yunho sighed, shaking his head with a smile, and muttered, "Honestly, he can’t handle even a can of beer."
As they made it into the room, Yeosang stood by the doorframe, his arms crossed, observing the scene. He had seen the entire live, and now he couldn’t help but feel a little flustered at the memory of San’s drunken confession.
Yunho noticed Yeosang immediately, and with a playful smirk, called out, “Oh, Yeosang. I see you’ve seen the Instagram live. Do me a favor—take care of your boyfriend.”
Yeosang’s eyes widened, his face turning bright red. "He's not my boyfriend—" he stammered, trying to protest.
Yunho, however, wasn’t having it. He interrupted with a teasing grin. “Yet,” he said knowingly, raising an eyebrow as he leaned against the doorframe.
Yeosang couldn’t help but shift uncomfortably. His heart raced at the thought. Was that how it seemed? Was he really distancing himself from San? He had been, but only because he felt the situation was complicated. Seeing San drunk and confessing his feelings like that, though... it made everything feel so different.
Yunho, seeing the confusion on Yeosang’s face, stepped a little closer, softening his expression. “Be honest with me. You have feelings for San, right?” He paused, allowing Yeosang a moment to process. “I know you’ve been keeping your distance because Wooyoung and San are close, but trust me, they’re not like that.”
Yeosang blinked, his thoughts swirling. He had always thought that San and Wooyoung had a special bond, but hearing Yunho confirm it—and the fact that Wooyoung was with him—was comforting.
Yunho continued, his tone more sincere now. “Alright, to make it clear, Wooyoung and I are together. So go with San. Don’t let this chance slip away. He’s a mess without you.”
Yeosang looked at Yunho, processing his words. His heart raced, both from the intensity of the conversation and from his own emotions. He had been avoiding San for a while, telling himself he wasn’t ready for a relationship, that it was too complicated. But now, looking at San lying there in his room, vulnerable and asleep, Yeosang couldn’t ignore the pull he felt toward him anymore.
He took a deep breath, glancing at Yunho, who was watching him patiently. “I don’t know if I’m ready, Yunho,” Yeosang confessed quietly. “I don’t want to hurt him… but... maybe I’ve been running away from something I really want.”
Yunho chuckled, patting Yeosang on the back. "That’s the thing, Yeosang. You’ll never know unless you give it a chance. Take care of him—he’s probably dreaming of you right now, you know."
Yeosang’s heart skipped. Dreaming of me? He looked at the drunk San, who was still barely conscious on the bed, and his heart softened. Maybe Yunho was right. Maybe he had been pushing this all away out of fear, but he couldn’t deny the feelings he had anymore.
With a final look at Yunho, he nodded, quietly saying, “I’ll go.”
Yunho grinned, giving Yeosang a reassuring nod. “Good luck, kid. And remember, I’ve got your back.”
Yeosang smiled faintly before turning to the door. As he stepped inside San's room, he walked quietly over to the bed where San lay, still half-dazed from the alcohol. He sighed, sitting beside him, running a hand through his hair gently.
"San," he whispered softly, "What am I going to do with you?"
San, still in a haze, mumbled something incoherent, but a smile tugged at the corners of his lips as if he could feel Yeosang's presence. Yeosang’s heart melted at the sight, and before he even realized it, he leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to San’s forehead.
As he pulled back, he thought to himself, Maybe... maybe this will work after all.
San woke up to the sunlight streaming through the window, the dull ache in his head making him groan as he rubbed his temples. "Ugh," he muttered, still half-dazed.
It wasn’t until he shifted in bed and noticed someone next to him that the confusion deepened. There, sitting beside him on the bed, was Yeosang.
"Good morning, although it’s afternoon, Sannie," Yeosang teased, his voice light and calm as he watched San slowly come to his senses.
San blinked at him, his mind still foggy from last night's events. He could recall bits and pieces: the party, the drinks, the laughter—and the confession he drunkenly made on Instagram Live. He cringed just thinking about it.
"Yeosang?" he asked, his voice thick and low with a hangover. "What... what happened last night? Did I— Did I really say that stuff?"
Yeosang gave a soft chuckle, his lips curving into a playful grin. "You did. You went live, and, well, you definitely confessed that I’m yours."
San’s eyes widened, and he nearly fell off the bed, his face going beet red. "Oh my god, I—I didn’t mean it like that. I was drunk! I didn’t mean—"
"Don’t worry, San," Yeosang interrupted, his voice gentle. "You didn’t say anything that wasn’t true."
San froze, unsure if he was hearing things correctly. "Wait... you think it’s true?"
Yeosang met his gaze steadily, his expression softening. "I wasn’t sure at first, but I think I’ve known for a while now. I just... didn’t want to admit it."
San’s heart skipped a beat. "Wait... you mean, all this time, you knew?" He looked at Yeosang, trying to make sense of the confusion. "I’ve been dropping hints, making it obvious... and you didn’t notice?"
Yeosang looked genuinely apologetic, a small blush coloring his cheeks. "I thought you were just being a good friend. I didn’t realize you were, you know, that serious about it. I thought I was just imagining things."
San’s heart sank for a moment. He had been so open with his feelings, so eager for Yeosang to understand, and yet... nothing. "I’ve been trying to make it clear, Yeosang. But you never—"
Yeosang smiled softly, reaching out to gently place a hand on San's arm. "I’m sorry I didn’t catch on sooner. But maybe it’s better that way. At least now, I’m sure. I think... I think I’ve been waiting for you to tell me."
San stared at Yeosang, still in disbelief. So all this time... it was me who needed to speak up?
"You've been waiting for me to say something?" San asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Yeosang nodded, his smile widening. "I’ve been noticing the way you’ve been acting around me, your little gestures... I just didn’t want to admit that I was feeling the same way. But now that I’ve heard you say it... I think we both know it's real."
San was silent for a beat, then let out a long, relieved sigh. "Well, at least we’re on the same page now."
Yeosang chuckled softly. "Yeah, we are."
San rubbed his forehead, trying to shake off the last remnants of his hangover, and then looked at Yeosang with newfound determination. "So, now what? You’re not mad about the Instagram Live thing, right?"
Yeosang smiled warmly, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Mad? No, but I think you owe me a proper confession—sober this time."
San laughed, his heart lifting. "Sober, huh? Alright, I can do that."
And for the first time in a long while, San felt his chest lighten. Maybe it took him a while to get there, and maybe Yeosang didn’t catch all the signs right away—but now that they were both on the same page, there was nothing holding them back.
"Yeosang," San said, his voice filled with sincerity. "I like you. I’ve liked you for a long time now. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know I want to be with you. Is that enough?"
Yeosang's gaze softened, and he nodded slowly. "It’s more than enough, San."
San smiled, his heart racing with excitement. He had been waiting for this moment for so long, and now it was real. No more confusion, no more second-guessing—just the two of them, finally seeing eye to eye.
As Yeosang leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to San’s cheek, he whispered, "You’re mine, too."
And for the first time in a long while, everything felt right.
