Ethereal

Summary:

"They are beautiful," Denki whispers while trying to watch the couple.

"You call every ghost you met handsome or beautiful," Hitoshi points out. "You called me handsome when he first met."

"All ghosts are stunning in this lighting," Denki states looking up at the window that was letting the moonlight filter into the room. "It makes you glow if you know what I mean."

"I have no clue what you're on about."

Denki let out a sigh and looked up at the couple as they he waltzed the room above them. "You don't see the moonlight reflecting off their image. It makes them look ethereal."

"I guess."

Chapter 1: 1. 3 am Waltz

Chapter Text

The moonlight made all ghosts look ethereal. That's what Denki thought anyway. There was no other way to describe it. That's the word that came to mind when he saw any ghost under the pale moonlight.

And it wasn't any different now as the high schooler watched a man and woman ballroom dance above the floor of a nursing home community room.

The couple weren't young by any means, but they were youthful in the way they carried themselves. The said couple was the whole reason he was up in the middle of a cold December night.

Even though he should probably get a move on, so he could help them into the afterlife, he can't help but admire the beauty of the scene before him. "Are you done staring yet?"

Looking away from the couple, Denki looks over to the ghost that has grown attached to him six years ago.

Hitoshi was one of the rare ghosts that Denki has met because he was still alive in some hospital. He was seventeen years old and had purple unruly hair. The clothes the ghost wore were a pair of black jeans and a striped purple and black shirt with a grey scarf wrapped around his neck. The pair of clothes were the only clothes Denki has ever seen the ghost in.

"What's wrong with staring?" Denki questions looking back to the couple.

"Can we just get this over and done with" Hitoshi brisks with his arms crossed. "I wanna go back to bed."

"You can't even sleep."

"Yeah, but the cats were asleep before these goons woke them up with the piano." He was referring to the piano that was being played in the corner of the room, no musician played the keys, they were being pressed by themselves.

"I was asleep too y'know." Shinsou shrugs and walks further into the room, making Denki follow. "Excuse me," the woman looks over to him before she lets go of her partner.

"Why hello there young man," she greets descending to his level. "Aren't you dapper." Denki was sure she was making fun of him considering he was still in his pajamas.

"Thank you ma'am," Denki says. "I have a question if you don't mind answering." She nods, telling him to go ahead. "Are you waiting for someone or something?"

The woman's expression softens before she glances or to the man standed a few paces away from them. "We're waiting for my son," a frown tugs at her lips and she continues to explain. "My son was supposed to dance with us at our anniversary so we could get to meet his fiance," The man now known as this woman's husband sets a hand on her shoulder. "But he never came."

"I'm sorry," Denki whispers.

The husband finally speaks up, "You shouldn't be the one apologizing for my son's no show." The teen goes to say something else, but he's interrupted, "It was nearly two decades ago, we know he's not coming, but Sora still wanted to wait for him."

"Would you like to dance with us instead?" The wife, Sora, asked with a small plea behind her kind eyes.

"I don't have a dance partner or know any waltz."

Both of the elder ghosts' eyes drift over to where Hitoshi stood watching the whole interaction. "Can he not be your partner," the husband asks.

"He's a ghost, sir. I can't touch him," Denki quickly explains.

"Really? He looks so lively, doesn't he Yuta? " Sora mumbles to Yuta, her husband.

"He does, dear."

If ghosts could blush, Denki was sure Hitoshi would be bright red. "My husband and I can instruct you two on what to do," Sora reassures. "So what do you boys say?"

"Yes!"

"No."

Both the teens look at eachother, "Why not?" Denki asks, "This could be fun, we haven't had an easy one like this in a while."

"I don't dance, I don't sing, I don't play instruments. We've been over this a hundred times, Denki."

Denki rushes over to Hitoshi and clasps his hands together in a plea. "Please~." The ghost just narrows his eyes and stares down at him, not budging in his decision. "I'll let the stray cats in when we get home and let you feed them treats."

And just like that, they were in the middle of the room standing across from each other as Sora and Yuta instructed them on what to do. Cats have always been Hitoshi's weaknesses and Denki would have to deal with all the cat hair after sending these people on later, but it was how the two functioned when Denki needs something from the ghost and it worked for them.

"Ok, Kaminari was it," Sora asks. Denki nods so she continues, "Place or hover your hand on Shinsou's left shoulder, then act like you're holding his right hand. Alright, now Shinsou place your hand on Kaminari's hip, then hold his outstretched hand."

Denki shivered at the 'touch' but none of the ghosts paid any mind as it was normal for someone alive to get shivers if they were touched by a ghost.

"Now follow what we do," Yuta instructs.

As they try to follow along Denki is glad he couldn't step on Hitoshi's feet, considering they were doing a horrible job. Sora adjusted them a few times before starting the music as well. The only thing she said before starting it was, "Have fun with it."

The music starts and they start their makeshift waltz.

"I guess."

"You guess?"

"What do you want me to say, I can see what you mean by ethereal, but I wouldn't go as far as calling everyone beautiful."

Denki lets out a small chuckle before teasing his friend, "Are you complaining about the first time we've met?"

¤
《Six years ago, Denki had met Hitoshi in Saitama City General Hospital.》

At the age of eleven opening his eyes against the powerful fluorescent light of a hospital was the hardest thing in the whole world.

Once he did manage to open his eyes, he would register his usual killer migraine that was always constant in his day to day life. Then he would notice that his limbs refused to listen to him, and he had the taste of iron in his mouth. This all would lead him to let out a groan, knowing that he had yet another seizure.

Scanning the room for his parents he noticed a boy with purple hair staring at him from the window still. The boy seemingly glowed in the moonlight and looked slightly translucent. Furrowing his brows Denki used all of his energy to sit up. "Who are you?"

The boy's eyes widened before blurting, "You can see me!"

Denki immediately shushed him while massaging his temples. "Why wouldn't I be able to see you?"

"I'm kinda dead right now."

"What!" Denki exclaims with his hands dropping to his lap. Trying to decipher if the boy was lying Denki looks over the boy taking in his pale skin and gravity defying hair, "You're messing with me."

"I said kinda, not fully."

"Is that why you look handsome?"

"Excuse me?"

"You're glowing, kind of, it's pretty."

The boy opens his mouth before closing it then asks, "Are you alright in the head, I feel like someone would freak out a bit more, not call me handsome."

"I did just have a seizure," Denki mumbles mostly to himself, "did it scramble my brain into seeing stuff?"

"If you tell a doctor about me, they are going to send you to the psych ward."

Denki ignored the comment for now, "What's your name?"

"Shinsou Hitoshi."

"Kaminari Denki, So~ what do you mean by kinda?"

The question was met with silence before Hitoshi mumbled, "I'm in a coma," while looking out the window. Denki goes to ask a million questions, but Hitoshi interrupts him. "I don't want to talk about it."

"I won't talk about it, as long as you don't ask me about my seizures. The doctors already poke and prod at me enough."

"Deal."

A doctor walks into the room interrupting Denki when he goes to start small talk. "It's good to see your awake Kaminari-kun," The doctor starts to ask if he's feeling alright, and Denki gives vague answers as he watches Hitoshi from the corner of his eye.

¤

"I'm not complaining," Hitoshi huffs, Denki has a feeling the ghost's cheeks would be flushed if he weren't dead, "It's just weird that you call the dead beautiful."

"Are you jealous?" Denki teases with a laugh.

Hitoshi narrows his eyes at Denki and waves his hand through Denki's shoulder making him shiver. "Why would I be jealous? There's no reason to be jealous of some monkeys that aren't going to be ghosts for much longer."

The small rant earns a snort out of Denki, "What have I told you about calling people monkeys, it's rude."

"It's not like anyone can hear me anyway."

"The ghosts can."

"Yeah, but I don't care what they have to say anyway."

Fondly shaking his head Denki looks up to the couple. The music was starting to simmer, and they started to fade as if they had never haunted the nursing home in the first place. The two disappear, with Yuta dipping Sora to the 'ground' while they kiss.

It was such a sweet moment that Denki nearly forgets to look away as they completely fade with a blinding light. "It's such a bummer I can't watch as ghosts fade completely."

"Technically, you can, you'll just end off in one of your seizures that you love so much," Hitoshi comments as Denki glares at him.

"It's not worth it if my brain spasses out afterwards, and I can barely remember it anyway."

Hitoshi hums and looks up at the moon, filtering into the room. It gives Denki approximately thirty seconds of taking in the ghost ethereal beauty before his name is called from the hall. "Denki, dear?" his grandmother calls while hobbling down the hall.

Denki drops his hands from Hitoshi and steps around the taller to meet his grandma halfway, "I'm right here Nan," he soothes placing a hand on her shoulder. "What are you doing out of bed?"

"I could ask the same of you boy."

"Just went for a walk, I couldn't sleep."

"Mhm, you're not up talking to that girl of yours are you" she scolds. Denki flushes as he hears Hitoshi let out a loud laugh from behind him. The blond didn't have a girlfriend, his family assumes he does because he's always on his phone, so he can cover up talking to Hitoshi and not sound crazy. And after a while of giving the excuse of being on his phone gave his family the fuel they needed to assume he had a girlfriend.

"Was not," Denki whines.

His Nan just takes his arm and starts leading him back to her room. "Nothing to be ashamed of. If I had a phone back in my day, I'm sure I would've been the same with your grandpa."

The conversation topic just makes him flush more if that were humanly possible. Hitoshi starts to tease him which didn't help in the slightest. "You should tell me about this girl of yours Denki, I'd be happy to meet her." If looks could make ghosts move on, Hitoshi would be in hell from the quick look Denki sends him.

"When are you heading home tomorrow?" The question makes Denki return his focus to his grandmother.

"The train is at ten, so around nine thirty."

His grandmother nods, "Well, you better get as much sleep as you can before then." Denki nods, and lets go of her arm so he can return to his spot on the sofa. "Oh, and no more treats for whiskers, you've already spoiled him rotten."

Letting out a laugh Denki looks over to Hitoshi who was sulking at her words. "He's such a good kitty though," the ghost whines while looking down at the feline. Whiskers stares at Hitoshi with a bored look before trotting away to curl up on their cat bed

"Alright, no more treats."

Chapter 2: 2. Suicide Awareness

What Denki does every Tuesday, Introducing Izuku, Another Flashback

Chapter two, this one was fun to write, you get a bit of Hitoshi's POV.

Chapter Text

If Denki had to choose something he despises the most, it would have to be volunteering at Aldera Junior High. It's extremely annoying because he was forced into it, and it took nearly an hour to get to the school from his high school .

What annoyed him the most, though, was the tutoring he had to give to little assholes. They didn't even like English. The little assholes didn't see the point of knowing a different language.

Today was like any other Tuesday. He stood in the office waiting to get a pass to walk around the school without being questioned by teachers. Denki bounced on the balls of his feet, waiting for said pass. He scans over posters pinned to the bulletin boards.

There were multiple club and sports posters, but the one that caught his eye was the big suicide awareness poster. It was the poster that always seemed to catch his eye when he entered the office. It wasn't like it was colorful or anything it just stuck out to him for some reason.

"I swear this place just gets more and more depressing every time I come here," Hitoshi says, speaking up from behind the receptionist's desk. "This woman's desk is full of candy wrappers."

Denki covers a laugh with a fake cough as Hitoshi continues to tell him about all the random items on the desk. The ghost was describing a picture of a fat pug when the receptionist came back with a pass and hands it over. "It's good to see you again Kaminari, tutoring is in room 6-H today."

"Thank you Ma'am, I'll see you in a few hours to return it," Denki responds while clipping the pass to his Saitama High Uniform. He exits the office and starts down the hall towards the stairs. "I don't want to do this," he sing songs.

"It's only two hours."

''So! Whose brilliant idea was it to have tutoring middle schoolers make up for missing too much school. Not to mention, I had medical reasons to be missing school. It's not like I miss on purpose. Now my after school time is gone."

"All you do is read comics and talk to your egoistic friends."

"They are not ego maniacs, and I also do a little ghost hunting."

"Bakugou is pretty egoistic. The others are fine."

"You can't just call them the others. They have names," Denki exclaims, making multiple passing middle schoolers give him looks before whispering to their friends. The blond's face flushes in embarrassment while Hitoshi grins at his misfortune.

"Look at that kid. He's talking to himself," Hitoshi mocks, "Someone needs to throw him in the loony bin so we all feel safe."

Denki sends him a quick glare before sliding open the classroom door. Five students perk up as he steps through the threshold and heads for the teachers' podium. Tutoring at Aldera Junior High was like teaching, go over the material assigned, and then help the students one on one with their homework.

"Pull out your English novels and worksheet so I can assess what I need to summarize."

While Denki did that, Hitoshi wandered around the room for a few laps. Each time he completed a lap he'd stop at one of the five students' desks to watch them doodle random nonsense in the corner of their page. Then, he would look up to the front of the room to stare at Denki for way longer than any friend would before continuing his routine.

His third round was interrupted by "pst." Thinking it was one of the kids passing notes, he continued till. "Hey!" Noticing how none of the students looked away from the board, Hitoshi turns away from Denki's teaching and scans the room.

His gaze lands on a green haired boy who is peering into the room from the threshold of the hall and the classroom. Furrowing his brows, he points to himself questionably. The boy nods and waves him over while stepping back out into the hall.

Hitoshi looks to Denki, who had his back turned to him while he wrote the plot of Old Yeller on the blackboard. Was he going to have to talk to another ghost because Denki was busy being alive? That was annoying.

An annoyed grumble left his lips as he passed through the wall leading out into the hall where the boy was waiting for him. "What," he snapped, crossing his arms.

The boy raised his hands in surrender, "I just have a few questions, no need for the hostility."

Hitoshi gave him an uninterested stare that he could tell made the boy uncomfortable. There was a moment of silence before, "Are you going to ask your questions or?"

"Oh! Right! I'm Midoriya Izuku, " the boy introduced.

"Did I ask for your name? Just ask the questions already so I can return to watching kids fail at English."

"I think you found the tutorer more interesting than the kids," Izuku mumbled under his breath.

Unfortunately for him, Hitoshi had heard him. "What was that you broccoli haired monkey." Hitoshi loomed for Izuku threatening him with a harsh glare that made the shorter take a step back. "You better ask your questions or get lost before I pummel you into moving on."

"No need for that," Izuku defended, raising his arms in surrender. "I've noticed that you're here every Tuesday following the blond that comes to tutor. Are you attached to him or something?"

"You've been watching me?"

"Well, when nothing changes aside from your appearance every week, it's pretty noticeable. So, are you attached to him or an object he wears? I've never met another ghost who follows someone alive."

"Does it really matter?"

"I'm just curious, I've been dead for nearly two years, and I want to know everything about being dead. It gives me something to do."

"Uh-huh."

They stare at each other in silence for a moment before Izuku interrupts it. "So?"

"You're not going to leave me alone, are you."

"I don't have anything else to do. So no."

"Damn it, fine. I'm attached to him." The confession made him embarrassed for some reason. Rubbing the back of his neck he looked to the classroom.

"Wow, how long. I seen another ghost follow around this student and they said they followed their person for a year and that they were starting to fade because of it."

"Six years."

"Really, I have a bunch of questions now."

"I thought you didn't know any other ghosts that follow people alive."

"I talked to them once, one day he was here the next..." Izuku trails off, clearly uncomfortable. "Anyway, can I ask you questions? If you're comfortable with it of course."

Hitoshi just stares at the boy, hoping they'd get scared by his deadpan look like he normally did with any other ghosts. Izuku just stays in place waiting for his ok. They stare at each other for a total of five minutes before Hitoshi lets out a groan before agreeing.

"But I have one condition to answering your stupid questions."

"What's the condition?"

"I want to know how you died."

Izuku's face immediately fell at the condition. The expression made Hitoshi think he was going to be let go and be free to return to Denki's lecture. That didn't seem to be the case though, "Alright, I'm fine with that." Izuku didn't seem fine with the condition but Hitoshi didn't push. "Come with me."

Hitoshi looked to the classroom where Denki was stuck tutoring for the next two hours before reluctantly following Izuku.

-

Denki wiped the black board down with a rag as the students filed out of the room. The two hour touring session had just ended leaving him to clean up the classroom.

As he collected the erasers to clean he scanned the room looking for Hitoshi. The ghost had left fifteen minutes into his lecture and hasn't been seen since. It isn't like Hitoshi to leave his side for long.

By the time he cleaned the erasers and swept the floors Hitoshi still hadn't come back so he grabbed his bag and started to wander the halls in hopes to find his friend.

Denki pads down the halls with his hands shoved deep in his pockets to stop himself from fidgeting as well as keeping himself grounded from intrusive thoughts. Because what if Hitoshi woke up, or what if Hitoshi passed on while he was stuck teaching a bunch of brats.

Hoping the latter didn't happen he walks down the halls extra slow while peeking into unlocked rooms as he went.

He's not sure how long he's been looking but the sun was setting casting the halls in an orange glow. The sign that security was going to do a sweep of the school soon, so he picked up the pace.

His last destination was the rooftop where he found Hitoshi to his relief. Denki would have run up and asked his friend why he disappeared if it wasn't for the person or ghost that stood across from Hitoshi.

Staying by the door Denki watched as the two conversate. It was a one sided conversation, which wasn't surprising with Hitoshi. The surprising part was that Hitoshi seemed invested in what the ghost was saying. Usually his friend wanted nothing to do with ghosts.

Denki started to inch closer because what conversation could they be having that would intrigue Hitoshi. He never got to hear the conversation as the wind obstructed his hearing and the ghost had noticed him.

The ghost said something to Hitoshi who immediately looked towards him. Denki raised his hand and gave a hesitant wave making the unknown ghost look between them before running up to Denki.

"You can see ghosts! I thought it was weird that Shinsou was following you around with no prompt. It makes sense now!" Denki stares at the ghost unsure of what to say. He just taught middle schoolers, his brain was practically goo now. The ghost suddenly holds out his hand, "I'm Midoriya Izuku by the way."

Denki stares at the ghost's hand, "Kaminari Denki, I can't touch you, my hand will just go right through you."

"Oh, I thought it would be different because you can see me," Izuku mumbles.

"Sorry to disappoint..." Denki's brain really did feel like goo because where was he trying to go with this conversation. He knew he wanted to say something more, but what was he going to say?

"Sit down," Hitoshi commands, walking up to him. Denki goes to argue but he's immediately interrupted. "You're about to seize, Sit down."

Ok, maybe it wasn't teaching the middle schoolers. He listens and sits down with his back up against the caged fence. "Dammit," he mutters, pulling out his phone laying it on the concrete. As he does, Izuku stares at him, obviously wanting to ask what he was doing.

"Shouldn't we do something" Izuku stresses watching as Hitoshi only sits down in front of the alive teen and stares.

"We're fucking dead you stupid monkey. What do you want me to do."

While Izuku stammers a response Hitoshi turns his attention to Denki who's nodding his head trying not to spiral into a seizure. Hitoshi realizes he probably should have told his friend to lay down instead of sit. He almost groans at the realization but doesn't because Izuku is standing over him.

When Denki goes into his seizure, slumping over and hitting his head in the process, Hitoshi looks up to Izuku. "Tell me more about Bakugou."

¤

"Hey Denki?"

The blond looks up to his ghost friend from the menu he was reading. "Yes Toshi?"

The ghost sends him an annoyed look at the nickname Denki had just come up with the night prior. The look makes Denki suppress a laugh that would make him look crazy to the diner he was currently sat in. "Why do you seize every time we meet a new ghost?"

The question makes Denki redirect his attention to the menu he held. He debates on even answering but he also knows his ghost was going to be relentless if he didn't answer the question. So he puts the menu down and takes out his air pods shoving them into his ears. "I do not."

"Ok not every time but eight times out of ten you do."

"What kind of statistics are those?"

"You're acting like I'm talking out of my ass, which I'm not." Hitoshi pauses before saying, "Or are you that dense about your seizures."

Denki would have given him a glare if it wasn't for the waiter arriving at the table to take his order. He orders an American burger and a chocolate milkshake then turns his attention back to Hitoshi with his arms crossed on the table. "Stop trying to provoke me into talking about my seizures. We have a deal, you don't get to ask me about my seizures if I can't ask about your whole coma situation."

He watches as Hitoshi seemingly sinks into the booth in discomfort. "Sorry, I didn't mean to provoke you into answering."

"It's fine, provoking me or other ghosts into answering you is a superpower at this point. I like to think of myself as immune though."

A silence claimed the table as Denki looks away from Hitoshi to stare out the window at the rain that had started a few hours prior. The silence was interrupted unexpectedly by Hitoshi. "I've been in a coma since I was nine."

Denki whips his head around to face Hitoshi who was finding the table more interesting than Denki's face for once. "Woah, I was not expecting the trauma dump."

Hitoshi lets out a groan, "I'm trying to be open here."

"I'm sorry! You've never given me anything then just out of nowhere you give me a whole mile. You can't expect me not to say something stupid." Denki messes with the sleeves of his pink hoodie before continuing, "I won't say anything stupid if you want to say more."

Hitoshi then looks up to the ceiling, probably contemplating if he wants to continue. Denki sits patiently waiting to see if Hitoshi wants to answer. While he waits the waiter brings his burger and shake allowing him to focus on something else.

On his second bite of his burger Hitoshi decides to continue. "My memory is a bit spotty so I can't really say for sure what happened but I'm pretty sure I was hit over the head by one of my foster siblings."

"You're a foster kid?"

"Yeah, my parents died when I was little so I was immediately put into the system."

"I'm sorry. . ." Denki isn't really sure what to say. He continues with caution, "I know the system hurts more than it helps kids."

Hitoshi nods clearly not sure what to say next ethier. "I obviously haven't been alive to really meet the foster people who have been looking after me in the hospital, but they seem better than the people who put me in the hospital."

Denki is glad that Hitoshi's body is being looked after. The conversation makes Denki want to know more but he doesn't ask any of the questions he wants to ask. Instead he gives Hitoshi a mile of his own. "When I seize I see how the ghosts die from their perspective..."

¤

'Go take a swan dive off the roof of the building nerd!'

Denki wakes up with a gasp before starting to gag. He hated when his seizures made him sick when he woke up.

Cupping his hand over his mouth he looks up to Hitoshi and Izuku staring down at him. Then what he saw hit him like a truck, Katsuki told Izuku to...

Denki shakes his head like it's going to rid the sight from his mind before he quickly stands, ignoring how shaky his legs were. "I got to go." With that he bolts down the stairs not listening to Hitoshi when the ghost calls after him.

Chapter Text

Denki hugs his pillow to his chest while staring at the wall. He can't accept that Katsuki has said that to Izuku, the ghost seemed like such a nice person. So what was the reason that Katsuki would say that in the first place?

His brain tries to run through all the scenarios that would give a warranted reason to tell someone to kill themselves. Denki knew there was no good reason but he still tried. Katsuki was his friend after all.

Denki was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he didn't realize he left Hitoshi behind till his cat, Boots, jumped up onto his bed and started pawing at his arm. "Stop boots," he grumbles, "go bother Hito-"

He quickly sits up and looks around the room for his ghost. Hitoshi is nowhere to be seen. "Shit!" He exclaims while nearly falling off his bed with the blanket wrapped around his ankles as he scrambles for his jacket and shoes.

God he was such a shit friend, how could he forget about Hitoshi. The ghost was always with him, how could he not notice him gone. How did he spiral that bad? Or did he have a blackout seizure somewhere. He wasn't sure, Fuck.

He slides his window open to the fire escape and sticks one leg out when his ghost scares the shit out of him. "Going somewhere?"

Denki whips his head around to look back at his room to see Hitoshi lounging on his bean bag giving him a smug look. "Hitoshi!"

"You can't get rid of me that easily."

Denki lets out a breath and gets back into his room, closing his window. "I'm so fucking sorry man, I wasn't thinking when I bolted. My head was so far up my ass that I didn't realize till boots pawed at me. Please forgive me!" He gives Hitoshi the best puppy eyes he could muster.

Hitoshi just stares at him silently for a moment before rolling his eyes. "I forgive you," Denki pumps his fist in the air, "on one condition."

"Anything!"

"Confront Bakugou." The air immediately goes tense as Denki freezes with his mouth hung open. "I know what you saw when you had your seizure, Izuku was telling me before you came up to the rooftop."

"What!? I can't do that!"

"We both know it's eating you alive, so you might as well get it done and over with." They stare at each with Denki trying to find the right words to respond. He didn't know what to say. Because Katsuki surely couldn't have meant it. Could he? "If you don't, I'll give you the silent treatment for the foreseeable future."

Denki couldn't deal with that. He and Hitoshi were practically attached at the hip. Hitoshi listened to him ramble about everything and nothing while giving a few comments here and there. Hitoshi provided funny commentary when he sat in class. Hitoshi tells him about all the activities that the strays do during the night as soon as he gets up in the morning. Hitoshi points out that he was going to seize before he even knew it. Denki can never go long with Hitoshi giving him the silent treatment.

What was he going to do! He's going to have to meet up with Katsuki without Eijirou, who usually follows him around everywhere. And even if he manages to separate the two, he's sure Katsuki would set his ass on fire if he brings up a personal topic.

Not like Hitoshi can back him up if Katsuki makes it physical.

He collapses backwards onto his bed not caring that he was still wearing his shoes or jacket. Why did the situation have to be so difficult?

Denki turns his head to face Hitoshi who is already staring back at him. Why did the ghost have to be so mean?

"Boots," Hitoshi called standing up. The orange kitten lets out a small mew and trots over to the ghost. "Let's go find something to do."

Denki silently watches as Hitoshi passes through his door and boots slips out of the room behind him. He then gets up and closes the door fully before sitting at his desk to try and finish late work he has yet to turn in.

Though it's safe to say he doesn't do much work with his thoughts spiraling. He sits tapping his pencil against his desk as he thinks about what he saw. Denki's never been afraid of heights but it might be becoming a fear of his. The pavement came so fast.

A shiver runs down his spine and he tries to focus again. It only lasts a few minutes before he's thinking about how his upcoming conversation with Katsuki would go.

Denki was one minute away from crashing the fuck out. Katsuki was staring at him, he could feel the ash blonds eyes burning the back of his head. He felt like his hair could catch fire any moment.

"Is he still staring?" Denki isn't sure why he asks Hitoshi, he knows Katsuki is. The ghost nods from where he sits on Mina's desk, Hitoshi hadn't said anything since last night and Denki knew there wasn't going to be a vocal response to his questions till he confronted Katsuki.

He taps his pencil against his desk while watching his teacher write about the Great East Japan Earthquake on the blackboard. Something Denki should be focusing on considering there was going to be an essay on it.

The notebook in front of him was filled with kaji that he could barely read due to his chicken scratch handwriting. Chicken scratch or not, none of the stuff he jotted down seemed important enough to go in an essay. Usually Hitoshi would point out anything he should write down but he was stubbornly silent.

A paper ball landed on his desk making him look away from the board and over to Mina who was pretending to write notes. Quickly putting it out of view from the teacher he unfolded it slowly under his desk before sticking it into his notebook so it looked like a loose piece of paper.

He makes sure no one is looking before reading it. 'What's up with you and blasty? You've both been acting weird since lunch!'

Has he? He knows Katsuki is due to the staring, but how was he acting weird.

Below her question he writes, 'He's mad that I stole his pencil case, gonna have to make a run for it after class! Pray for me bestie!!!'

He folds the paper in half three times before slouching back in his chair and extending his arm across the aisle to pass it to Mina who immediately snatched it and unfolded it to read.

He hears a snap come from somewhere in the room making him look around. It makes him lock eyes with Katsuki who had just snapped his pencil in half.

Denki looks back towards the front of the room with his heart in his stomach. Katsuki was already going to kill him, and he didn't even know what he did to deserve it. At Least there was actually going to be a reason for it later.

Not being able to stand the burning stare anymore he raises his hand. "May I use the bathroom Sensei!"

The teacher stares at him for a moment before letting out a sigh, "Go ahead Kaminari."

Denki immediately stands making his chair scrap across the floor earning him a glare from the teacher and a few students that he ignores. Escaping Katsuki's stare as fast as he could he doesn't check if Hitoshi bothers to follow him.

The ghost was getting a free education at one of the most prestigious schools in all of Japan. Denki had gotten into the school thanks to his parents' money and his test scores that just passed the acceptance mark. So Hitoshi was taking advantage of the high education.

Yuei was a school that set students up for future careers, Denki was taking Electrical and coding courses that he found himself easily excelling in, unlike the main subjects.

During his career courses Denki found Hitoshi disappearing to do something else. He wouldn't be surprised that the ghost was taking advantage of the career courses too. It never comes up in conversation to confirm it. Aka, Hitoshi avoids the topic for some reason.

Denki slides the door shut behind him before walking slowly down the hall with his hands stuffed in his uniform pants. He looks out the windows on his walk to the bathroom.

The clouds were dark and rain hammered down with enough force to hear it on the roof of the school. The sidewalks were flooded and the trains were running slow. So his trip home was going to be long and miserable.

It wasn't long before he reached the bathroom. He walks inside and goes over to the sink and turns on the tap. He runs his hand under the cool water and splashed a little on his face.

Maybe the cool water would give him courage to confront Katsuki so he could immediately split after school. He highly doubted it though.

The bathroom door slams open, making him quickly turn around to find Katsuki standing there with his hands balled into fists. "Kats!" He exclaims.

"What the fuck is your problem dunce face!" Katsuki immediately yells.

"What are you talking about man, I think you're getting a bit delusional from Eijirou smacking you upside the head when you're being an ass."

Katsuki snarls, it reminds Denki of a rabid pomeranian, "You've been ignoring me, yet sending me looks all fucking day! You've obviously got something to say so fucking say it already! You know I hate being ignored!"

"I don't have anything to say!" If Hitoshi had followed him Denki is sure it would earn him a glare and some sort of petty revenge.

"Fucking Liar, I hate bitch ass liars." Katsuki grabs a fistful of the front of his uniform.

Denki's breath hitches at how close the ash blond got so fast. Katsuki was staring down at him with a murderous gaze. He has to remind himself that Katsuki is bark, no bite. Most of the time...

"I-uh," Denki snaps his mouth shut, unsure of what to say. There's no good way to say 'Hey I know you told a kid to off themselves, and they actually did! Why'd you say that?' Not to mention how he gained that information would make him sound fucking nuts. 'I know this because I can see ghosts by the way.' He'd be called a Liar or crazy.

"Spit it out, dunce face!" Katsuki pushes him up against the sink leaving him trapped by the tallers iron grip and strong build.

He probably could have worded it better but he doesn't think as he blurts, "I know about Midoriya!"

Suddenly Katsuki's grip loosens before balling up again. "Who told you?"

"No one!"

"Then how the fuck do you know!"

"I tutor at Aldera Junior Middle school on Tuesday's!"

"You? A tutor! That's just a unbelievably stupid fucking lie."

"Not a lie! The school gives me no choice, If I don't they'll take away my spot."

"Why would the school make you out of all people be a tutorer?"

"Because I've been missing so much school from my seizures, the schools taking it in as a grade."

Katsuki narrows his eyes and waits for his stare to make Denki crack. But Denki wasn't lying, so the stare wasn't cracking anything. "Who told you," the ash blond snapped, pushing him further into the porcelain of the sink.

"No one!" Denki squeaks once more. The sink dug uncomfortably into his lower back and it was starting to hurt.

"Someone obviously fucking said something!"

"You won't believe me if I told you who!"

In response Katsuki grabbed him by his bicep and spun him around before pushing him into a stall and forced him down with his head over the toilet, "Who! Or so help me I'll give you a swirly!"

Denki knew Katsuki would do it if he didn't get his answer. "Izuku did!"

"You think this is fucking funny!" Denki feels Katsuki grab a fist full of his hair as he goes to dunk him.

"I'm not lying, I can see ghosts because of my seizures."

"You're bullshit stories are getting more and more unfucking unbelievable!" Katsuki goes to dunk him once more but Denki isn't quite sure if he does as he feels cold and his mind goes fuzzy.

¤

Denki gasped as his knees hit the hardwood of his room floor. He shivers, it felt like a bucket of ice was dumped over his head.

He looks up from the floor to Hitoshi who was sitting on the floor across from him. The ghost's violet eyes were wide as he stared at Denki in shock.

Hitoshi opens and closes his mouth clearly deciding on what to say. He decides to say, "Are you ok?"

Denki slowly nods as he grabs the duvet off his bed. He wraps it around his shoulders while answering Hitoshi's questions. "Yeah. . . I think. . . What just happened? It was like I was watching a movie from my point of view. I couldn't control what I said or my body but I was awake. And I couldn't see you. What happened? I'm freezing!"

Hitoshi rubs at the nape, "I think I possessed you."

"What!?"

"I don't know, one minute I'm stressing over you in that alley the next I'm using your body to defend you from those thugs, it made me feel." Hitoshi pauses to think of how it felt. "Indestructible. Only at first. Then I felt Overwhelmed when I got out of there."

"Well you were alive again after nearly a decade, it might not have been your body, but you were alive."

"How are you not freaking out right now?" Hitoshi hisses as Denki strugs.

"I feel high on adrenaline and I'm freezing. So I can't think very clearly right now." Denki stands and flops down on his bed. "All I know is one moment I'm on the verge of losing all my pocket money and close to a beat down then everything goes fuzzy and cold and I can't control what I do."

Hitoshi lays on the floor, "I feel drained and tired."

"Well maybe it's energy draining?"

"What?"

"Like maybe ghosts have a battery, and when you possess people it drains that battery! Like how you can move little stuff like pages and buttons on the controller and you only can do it for so long. Maybe possession just takes a lot out of that battery."

Hitoshi nods along to his theory, thinking about how drained he felt after interactions with stuff. Feeling drained was barely there unlike now.

"We just have to figure out how to charge your battery!"

"What about you, you're still shivering and you look pale."

"I'm probably going to go take a hot shower and hopefully it will go away."

"What if you still feel cold."

Denki shrugs once more and gets up, "I always feel cold when I'm around you, I just feel freezing right now." It was true, he was always cold, but when Hitoshi leaves him to go do something he suddenly feels hot.

“Figure out how to solve your battery problem" Denki states before the ghost can ask him any more questions.

¤

Denki can't control himself when his hand grabs onto Katsuki's arm that was holding a fistful of his hair. Denki isn't even aware his body was capable of winning a fight against Katsuki till his body elbows the ash blond in the crotch making him stumble back out of the stall.

He's in the backseat as he picked himself off of the dirty floor and turns to face Katsuki who was letting out a bunch of swears and guarding his dignity like it's going to get hit again.

Denki catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror to see his usual golden eyes were violent. So Hitoshi was currently possessing him. He definitely didn't expect this, the ghost has only possessed him once before, two years ago.

"You're a egotistical fuck" he heard himself say. Definitely Hitoshi.

"Looks like Pikachu grew a pair of balls" Katsuki mutters looking up to him. The explosive blond narrows his eyes and looks him up and down.

In response Hitoshi raises his hands signaling he wanted a fight. Denki wishes he could tell the ghost off, he didn't want to fight Katsuki.

Katsuki gives him a feral grin and raises his fists, "I'm so going to beat your bitch ass."

Hitoshi scoffs, "How does Izuku possibly think that you didn't mean what you said." The comment gives Katsuki the fuel he needs to swing first. Hitoshi quickly leans back before taking a swing of his own. Katsuki grabs his fist and sends a blow to his face. "Fuck! I'm out of practice" Hitoshi hisses while dodging another fist.

"Did you scramble your brain too much with your last seizure, you've never fought a day in your fucking life!" Katsuki scoffs.

Denki is not sure how Hitoshi does it but he lands a blow to Katsuki's ribs. The blow definitely catches Katsuki off guard as he doesn't account for Hitoshi swiping his feet out from under him.

Hitoshi places a foot on Katsuki's chest, keeping him down. "You've always been a fucking asshole. So why does everyone defend you."

Katsuki narrows his eyes, "Call me fucking insane, but you're not Denki."

"What gave that away," Hitoshi deadpans putting pressure down on Katsuki's chest.

"Who the fuck are you."

"Just a ghost, you don't need to know more than that. So why'd you tell Izuku to off himself."

"None of your fucking business."

"Do I have to remind you that I have the upper hand right now."

Katsuki grabbed his foot and twisted it so Hitoshi stumbles back off him. This was getting too much. They needed to stop before they got caught and suspended for fighting.

Denki uses all of his willpower to push Hitoshi out of his body. He didn't think it was possible until he was falling to his knees. "Stop," was the only word that left his lips as he shivered, hugging himself.

It didn't help that his body ached in pain from the bruises he just earned. His breathing was shaky and feeling cold didn't help.

Slowly he looked up to Katsuki who was kneeling in front of him. "What the fuck was that dunce face."

"Would you believe me if I said a very angry ghost?" Denki looks at Hitoshi who was leaning against one of the sinks. The ghost was glaring at Katsuki unsurprisingly.

"I can't believe I'm fucking saying yes right now" Katsuki muttered. "Are you fucking good, your shaking like a leaf."

"Yeah, just cold."

"I want answers dunce face."

Denki let out a sigh and got to his feet. He pulled the jacket of his uniform tighter around himself trying to get a little warmth from it. "What kind of answers?"

"All of it, start off with how you're able to see stupid ass ghosts."

"Ok..."

Chapter Text

"You explained everything to the egotistical fuck and didn't get any answers in return!" Hitoshi yells pacing the train platform. Denki sat on a bench watching the ghost. He'd missed the train so he had to wait for one.

Hitoshi had taken the opportunity to complain about Katsuki. "How can you even be friends with him, he tried to dunk you in the toilet! He beat the shit out of you!"

"You're the one who started that fight, he wouldn't have hit me if you didn't initiate it," Denki comments while messing with one of the wheels on his skateboard.

"He asked for it! He tried to dunk you, imagine if I didn't save your ass."

"Then I'd be dunked in toilet water, that would feel better than a split lip and somewhat twisted ankle."

"Are you serious right now? Denki he shouldn't have even tried it in the first place. He's not a good person." Not wanting to continue this somewhat argument, Denki stands and drops his board to the pavement hopping on. "Where are you going?"

"No where," he skates around Hitoshi in a circle. The platform was empty because it was nearing the late hours of the night and everyone had already gone home from work and school.

He ollies onto the bench he was once sitting on and does a kick flip off of it landing with practiced ease. "Are you done complaining yet, I'm not going to stop being friends with Katsuki and you know this."

"Denki you can't be serious!"

"As serious as a heart attack Hito." Hitoshi opens and closes his mouth, It reminds Denki of a fish. "Chill, now that Katsuki knows I can ask about Izuku anytime."

"Funny how he doesn't seem too keen on answering your questions."

"He'll answer eventually, give it time."

"What makes you think that?"

"Because he can't keep a secret like this forever, it will spill out of him eventually."

"And if it doesn't?"

"I'm guessing you'll just possess me and fight him again."

"I didn't like the fact that he was going to dunk you into the toilet. I said I was sorry already. "

Denki hums, after they left the school grounds Hitoshi had started to apologize for possessing him with no warning. The ghost promised to not possess him without his permission when he first did it a few years ago. Hitoshi didn't like the side effects that it gave Denki and didn't like how it made himself feel too.

Denki was upset about that and was glad Hitoshi apologized, but part of him wants to tell the ghost off. Because Hitoshi didn't have to deal with consciences of his own actions, the conscience fell on Denki. That was a reason Hitoshi promised not to do it too.

Sure the conscience was a busted lip and a somewhat messed up ankle but it could have gone way more out of hand if Denki didn't put a stop to it.

Denki was getting to telling Katsuki about it anyway so it's not that big of a deal.

He's just not sure if Katsuki knowing about him being able to see ghosts is a good thing yet.

Denki explained mostly everything to Katsuki, leaving out things that didn't seem relevant to say. Throughout his whole explanation the blond had this look on his face, a look that left Denki nervous.

Although if the ash blond does say something to anyone he'll sound like a lunatic. One of the perks about his secret if he were honest. So the nervous feeling immediately fizzled out after they both left the bathroom returning to class.

Then Denki immediately left school after class; so he wasn't exactly sure of what Katsuki's thoughts were on his gift.

He does another kickflip, this time he doesn't land it making him fall on his ass, hard. Denki groans as he immediately sits up, his skateboard was heading right for the tracks. "Shit!" He tries to scramble to his feet and get his board, but thanks to the ankle injury he received earlier from Katsuki, his ankle ached in pain making him sit back down.

He watches as his board continues to roll towards the tracks, ignoring how Hitoshi asks if he's alright. He spent forty thousand yen on that board.

Just as it was about to drop into the tracks it's stopped by a familiar someone who stomps down on the nose and grabs it by the trucks. "Ochako!" Denki exclaims, "What are you doing here?"

The chocolate haired girl walks up to him and offers her hand which Denki takes to stand. "I'm on a bit of a hunt right now. I was led this way."

Denki hums and looks around, "Where's Toga, she usually follows you around like a shadow."

"She was following a lead that she said seemed fishy," Ochako answers handing him his board. "And you say that like Mr grumpy pants doesn't follow you around like a shadow." The comment earns her a glare from Hitoshi, which she sticks her tounge out in return to.

Ochako was another ghost hunter. A term that they both used for each other. The reason that she is able to see ghosts is still unknown to Denki, it's something she never seems comfortable with sharing. All Denki knew was the unpleasant side effect it gave her.

While Denki got his seizures she got a nasty case of vertigo that made her extremely nauseous.

Toga, Himiko, was a ghost that followed Ochako around. The ghost was more open about the reason she is somewhat dead than Hitoshi is. Toga was Ochako's childhood best friend who nearly died in a hit and run four years ago.

She is extremely overprotective of Ochako and is not afraid to make it known. Denki and Hitoshi knew of her overprotective nature too much. The normal negative comments Hitoshi makes about everyone are not to be said to Ochako or Toga will make it everyone's problem. The ghost only let Ochako call her by her given name.

"Thanks for saving my board by the way."

"No problem, I figured you'd be heart broken if it dropped into the tracks and I wasn't going to stand by." Ochako takes a seat on the bench dropping her school bag to the floor. "So any exciting huntings recently."

"I've been a bit busy to do any hunting, all the hunting I've been doing recently is just me stumbling upon them at this point," Denki states, taking a seat beside her.

"Oh? Any reason, you're usually jumping from one hunt to another."

"Stuff..."

"He's been seizing more often and his parents noticed," Hitoshi answers, crossing his arms.

"Hito!"

"Payback from the thing with Katsuki," the ghost shrugs. Denki knew the whole Katsuki thing was brought up because Hitoshi knew Ochako would ask questions, which she immediately does.

"Katsuki? What's up with him." They both went to Yuei so she knew who he was talking about.

"We found out he's a massive, massive asshole," Hitoshi somewhat answers. Ochako sends Denki a questioning look that he avoids. "We met a ghost the other day that told us Katsuki told him to kill himself."

Ochako lets out a gasp, "No way, I knew he was a bully but not that bad."

"Yeah, and Denki is still defending him."

"I'm giving him the chance to defend himself!"

"A chance he doesn't deserve."

Ochako looks between the two, "I think I agree with Hitoshi for once.”

“What! Why!?"

"Well there is no valid reason for Bakugou to tell someone to kill themselves. You don't say something like that Denki, I feel like it's like someone yelling bomb in a bank or something."

"I-" Denki closed his mouth. It was true there was no valid reason for someone to tell someone to kill themselves. "I was hoping I could get him to apologize to the kid he told it to."

"This is Bakugou we're talking about," Ochako points out.

"Exactly" Hitoshi chimes.

"And how are you going to get Bakugou to apologize anyway, I highly doubt, out of all people, he's going to believe ghosts exist." Ochako's question is met with silence, "What?"

"Well, he believed me after an incident…”

"What kind of incident?"

"An Hitoshi incident."

"Don't call it that," the ghost exclaims, "and in my defense he was going to dunk you into the toilet."

"Denki! How are you friends with this guy!"

"Eijirou, the sweetest person on earth is friends with him too. Now can we talk about something else?" Denki mumbles looking up to the clock on the wall. There was still fifteen minutes till the train.

His savior comes in form of Toga skipping towards them, "Senpai, I found the ghost we are looking for! It's a non threat ghost so it's safe!" The ghost notices them once she's close enough. "If it isn't Denki-doodle and Sushi-Hitoshi."

"Excuse me," Hitoshi grumbles as Toga laughs.

"Get it, I put your last name and first name together and it formed Sushi, I have a feeling you'd be a California Roll too because you're so crabby all the time."

Denki and Ochako snort as Hitoshi tries not to lose it. The two ghosts have never been the best of friends, they were always disagreeing about something. "I'm kind of disappointed I didn't come up with that one Hito," Denki comments, making Toga grin.

"Thank you, thank you! I spent a lot of time on that one." Toga shoved Hitoshi away so she was standing beside Denki instead. "So how has Denki-doodle been?"

"Good, it's been awhile."

"I know! You would think we would see you two more since you and Senpai go to the same school."

"Himiko, the ghost" Ochako reminds the ghost.

"Oh yes! Down the hall and to the left by platform eight, it's a ghost around our age!"

"Alright let's go send them on" Ochako says standing up and grabbing her bag, "want to join Denki?"

"Nah, my train is almost here. Don't want to miss another one," Denki declines, pointing to the screen with the train to Saitama listed on it.

Ochako nods, "Mind if I give a little advice before I go."

"Anything."

"Go hunt a ghost, it will take your mind off the Bakugou thing and maybe give you a new perspective on it when you're done. Ghost hunting always clears my mind."

"She's right" Hitoshi comments, "Ghost hunting for some reason makes you both think clearly."

"It's because we are helping people in a way," Ochako says. "Alright I'm going to get back to hunting, and tell me how the whole Bakugou thing goes."

"I will, bye!" He gives them a wave which they both return before starting down the hall.

"God I can't stand her," Hitoshi immediately grumbles when they are out of ear shot. "Sushi! Really! I'm not a fish!" Denki laughs at his outburst. "Ochako is cool but Toga. Ugh. She makes me wish we never ran into them."

¤

We are so lost,” Denki whines, dragging his feet while wandering down a long hall that looks like every other hall.

It's his first day at Yuei and he was definitely lost. The school was so much bigger than his middle school and it was clearly showing. He swears if he wore a fit bit there would be over ten thousand steps on it and it was only eight in the morning.

"You should have taken that tour the school offered," Hitoshi says for what seemed like the hundredth time since they arrived.

"I know! It's not like the hospital would have let me leave for it. Why'd I have to have a seizure in front of someone," Denki rants while continuing to walk the halls aimlessly. "If they looked at my medical bracelet they would have known I didn't need a hospital."

Hitoshi just hums, letting him rant.

Denki goes to continue but a ring interrupts him. A ring only he could hear. He stops in his tracks and looks around, making Hitoshi nearly pass through him from where he was trailing behind him. "Why'd you stop?"

"There's a ghost around here" Denki mumbles trying to decipher the way the ringing was coming from.

The ringing was the way he learned how to track ghosts. The type of ring varied depending on the type of ghost that was around. Sharp clanking noise usually meant dangerous, then if it had a soft pitch and a trill it was passive. If it was bell chimes that seemed to echo it was neutral but could lean either way depending how he interacted with the ghost.

Usually he had to be actively looking for ghosts to hear it. So why did he hear it now?

"Now? We aren't ghost hunting Denki. You need to find your classroom before you get detention," Hitoshi scolds as Denki back tracks to follow the ringing.

"This one's different." Hitoshi narrows his eyes in question. "The ringing, it's... high pitched, but distanced somehow. It's different." Denki's been ghost hunting for years and he's never heard this. Because it's been so long with nothing new ghost hunting wise, it makes him curious. It also makes him feel uneasy.

"We shouldn't be tracking this if it's different. What if it's worse than the ones you classify as dangerous."

"Dangerous ones only come out at night."

"What if that's the difference."

Still Denki continues forward making Hitoshi reluctantly follow. The sound leads him to the stairs where he runs into a girl with shoulder length brown hair.

"I'm sorry," they both immediately apologize. "I wasn't paying attention," they both then say at the same time.

Normally Denki would say jinx but he realizes the ringing had stopped making Denki look over the girl. She didn't seem ghost-like, she wasn't pale, in fact she looked sunburnt with the amount of blush she was wearing. There was also the fact that they ran into each other. So she wasn't a ghost, so why did the ringing stop? Was it a false alarm or was he about to seize. He hoped it wasn't the latter.

He snapped out of his thoughts when a girl with blond hair that was tied up into space buns peered around the one he ran into. It looked like this was the ghost he heard by her pale skin and sailor outfit.

The ghost stared at Hitoshi with an excited expression completely ignoring him

Denki focuses his attention on the girl he ran into do he doesn't look too crazy. "I'm Kaminari," he introduces extending his hand for her to shake.

His introduction seemed to snap her out of whatever thoughts she was having, "Uraraka," she says, taking his hand to shake. "I'm a bit lost, do you happen to know where class 1-A is?"

"I'm lost too, and it seems we're in the same class, sorry."

"Well let's try and find it together" Uraraka says, "I'm guessing it's on this floor."

"Ok, how hard could it be to find a classroom" he mostly mumbles the second part to himself while starting down a hall he hasn't wandered down yet.

"Senpai, are we just going to acknowledge him?" the blond ghost asks, probably pointing to Hitoshi. Both the ghosts were walking behind him.

Wait. Did she just talk to Uraraka.

Denki looks over to Uraraka to catch her glancing in Hitoshi's direction. He hasn't met another person that could see ghosts and have one attached to them.

"Well glad I'm not the only one to catch onto that," Hitoshi says noticing Denki's realization.

"He speaks," the other ghost exclaims. "What's your name! I'm Toga." Hitoshi doesn't answer.

Denki looks over to Uraraka who was clearly trying to ignore Hitoshi's comment. Should he say something?

He ponders for a moment before letting out a sigh that makes Uraraka look over to him. "Something wrong Kaminari-kun?"

"Soooo Ghost Hunter huh." He's never been the best at words, he admitted that multiple time in his life.

"What!?" Uraraka squeaks stopping in the middle of the hall, "How?"

Denki looks over to Hitoshi who crosses his arms, "You should have just ignored it and continued to look for your class but no you wanted to go ghost hunting." Uraraka's mouth gaped open as Toga gasps bouncing on the balls of her feet.

"Ignore him, he doesn't like new people or ghosts" Denki states. "Once he warms up to you he'll be nicer."

"Says who," Hitoshi grumbles making Denki send him a glare.

"I have so many questions," Uraraka mumbles. Denki looks back over to her.

"I honestly do too."

“Me too” Toga chimes.

¤

The train is nearly as empty as the platform was. There were only a few people.

With people on the train he had to apply Japanese etiquette and keep quiet. If he talked on his phone it was considered rude so Denki couldn't talk to Hitoshi without being glared at or people thinking he is a drunkard.

So he sat watching as Hitoshi crouched in front of a cat in someone's cat carrier while making "pspspsp" noises at it. The cat stares at Hitoshi uninterested.

His phone vibrates in his pocket making him pull it out to see who had texted him. He feels his breath hitch as he notices that Katsuki had texted him. Taking a deep breath he opens the message.

The message makes him confused as hell, 'Ready to get a job Pikachu.'

What the fuck could that mean!

The train pulls into Chiba prefecture and Denki immediately stands, making Hitoshi look up to him with a confused look. Not saying anything Denki gets off the train making Hitoshi follow. "Why are we stopping in Chiba?"

"I'm taking Ochako's advice, we're going ghost hunting.”

Notes:

Normal I won't do three chapter of the same day but it's the beginning of the fic and I figured you'd like to know how everything works sooner rather than later.

Next chapter is a continuation of this one with Denki actually hunting a ghost!

I've wrote the next chapter three times and I'm still not happy with it so I'm going to do it again and hopefully have it up by next week because I like to keep a schedule or this will never get done.

Anyway, Hope you enjoyed, I can't wait to expand on all of the characters! ♡
