TRISTIAN
The class is boring . Boring is an understatement , it's totally Tedious . I never knew taking french as an additional language would be so difficult. I should have taken German although I'm sure I wouldn't be the top student , even make it to below average. I looked at the black watch in my hand , I've had it for two years now and its still in a good condition despite facing a few scratches and hits .
The time is now 3:44. Almost fifteen mintues to go.then freedom , kinda . Mr Giovani continues rambling about genders and how they mean different in french . I flip the pages of my textbook trying to get he talking about . I give up after flipping through the entire book and having no interest in knowing anyway .
The bell rings and i quickly pack my bags ready to leave . I have to meet my friends about the new song we are gonna do . Its still in the talking stage and we aren't satisfied with the process . Writing the lyrics is mainly my job and I am having a tough time .
I walk towards our practice room and I smile hearing the guitar and the piano play in perfect harmony to the Ed sheeran's song perfect.𝐸𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑛'𝑠 𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡.It's one of our favorites to practice and have a good time . I stop right outside our practice room . After a lot of trials and help we designed our name board . It says 𝑇𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 in huge cursive letters written in black and red with a hint of white . I like our band name, its weird but in a good way .
I open the door as my band mates reach to the end of perfect . " Hey , man took you long enough " Cade our leader and my best friend says and he gives me a side hug. " Yeah sorry I had a very interesting class with Mr Giovani." Cade gives me a funny look that says I told you so . He is tall with blonde hair that is curly and features that the women barf on . I am more handsome than the donkey looking guy . I have no idea why his girlfriend is dating him.
" So , Tristan have you decided on the lyrics yet ? " Leon asks me as he puts the guitar down . Ren, the Pianist of our group also follows suit and gets up from his chair.
"Not yet . I can't come up with anything new and its bugging me a lot . I feel like I am failing and shit ."
" Mr overthinker stop right there . Its common to experience a writers block . Don't blame yourself for that . Let it rest and it will come to you naturally . Don't work too much and pass out like last time " Jasper , singer of Temptations advices me but I can sense the humour in his tone .
" That was one time . And it was months ago . Let it go Jasper " I firmly say but he just shrugs and I know that this will go on for life . " He is right though . Don't stress over it . Inspiration is what you need so go relax and stuff. Shit will not work out if you think too much negatively " Cade leans over the wall and has this know - it - all look that irritates me to the core . All he gives are looks but it still gets on my nerves because I understand his looks . This is what happens when you are friends for over a decade . You understood each other with no words or communication needed .
Suddenly the door burst open and Sadie , Cades girlfriend enters with a lot of angry energy around her . Oh good Cade fucked up again . This is going to be good ." Why did you blow me off yesterday? " Sadie yells the moment she enters and stands next to Cade.
" I didn't blow you off yesterday I told you I was busy " he answers with a frown .
Sadie scoffs and just says " Really ? I guess you were so busy hanging out with Regina huh . What , you stooped so low that you are gonna cheat now ?"
Cade looks taken aback " What the hell are you talking about ? I never cheated on you . Regina was trying to hit on me but I pushed her away ."
" oh yeah ? Then why doesn't she get a hint. Maybe you like this . Maybe you like getting hit on . Maybe you are a cheater ."
Now rest of us start feeling a little akward . We should probably leave . So I signal the others asking them to leave too . We leave the practice room and just stand there feeling a little out of place .
" Do you think the band practice is cancelled for today ? " Jasper asks .
" Yep probably . I don't think we will get anything done today anyway . Our leader and our manger are fighting. Thats why you shouldn't date in your workplace " Ren says .
"Nobody knew that when Sadie was selected as our manager " Leon states though he isn't wrong but he missed a tiny detail .
" No , you see Leon , Cade selected her as our manager . I still vividly remember it was mainly because he fell in love with her as soon as he saw her " I argue .
" That is correct and I won't say otherwise. He did fall first ."
The door opens and Sadie walks out with tears in her eyes . Guess shit did go down . She takes a few steps and then walks back to the room where we are still standing outside . She opens the door and says " Oh yeah and I quit. "
Now that is some serious trouble. We all watch as she leaves just as quickly as she came . I quickly go inside and notice Cade looking out the window . I guess he sensed that it was me " We broke up ." I can hear the hurt in his words . He truley did love her . He still loves her and I know it . " What ? Why ? Are you okay Cade ? " . " As much as we love each other .We don't understand each other . Misunderstanding's keep happening and communication is useless as we refuse to back down . We both are too stubborn and egoistic . We are too much like each other ."
" Thats not true . Cade You both love each other and shows . You were so happy when talk about her and you glowed when it came to her ."
" I still love her . I love her too much that it is killing me to end things . But she keeps doubting me . She can't move on from the betrayal of her last relationship. Whatever I do she thinks I am cheating . Just because a fucker cheated and broke her heart she thinks I am gonna be the same . And I had enough . I had enough explaining things I didn't do . And having to verify my love for her . If there is no trust then there is no use of loving each other ."
" Cade ...."
" Just leave me alone . This is right thing to do . We both keep hurting each other by pretending everything is fine .We hurt each other by being together . I want to be alone for a while ."
I take the hint and decide to leave him alone for a while . I can always talk to him later . The rest of the members seem to have already left . I can't blame them . It is none of their business.
I listen to some music as I drive home and since most of the songs are about love I keep imagining Cade and Sadie . So I turn it off and just drive in silence . I am worried about him . This is his first breakup and I still don't know what happened . I will be there for him always . I can't judge before he actually tells me whats wrong .
I drive into our driveway . I ring the bell and my Dad open the door . " Hey , how was your day? ."
I take off my shoes " It was just the same . Cade is going through a rough patch now ." My dad's eyebrows sink together with concern " What's wrong ?"
" He and Sadie broke up today ."
" Oh that's sad . They were such a sweet couple ." He didn't ask anything after that and I am thankful . This is Cade's private matter and I shouldn't invade his privacy . " Did mom come back? You know from the girls day out ? " I change the subject .
" Yep she is . She is getting freshen up right now ." I nod and climb the stairs and go to my room . I take a bath and change my clothes . I go back down as My stomach was begging for some food and I started feeling a little weak .
" Tristian ? Dinner is almost ready why don't you set down the table and call Dad ? " Mom is cooking what seems like pasta and meatballs , my favorite. I take out the plates and the spoons and set out the table . Dad sits down on his seat as mom sets down the dishes .
We eat dinner in silence except talking a bit here and there . Dad is helping mom in doing the dishes . She switches on the TV and says " Did you take the mail today ? " . I stop in my tracks and look at her with a nervous smile " I forgot . I will do it right away your majesty ." I quickly make my way towards the main door and as soon as I am out the house I curse myself and take the mail . As I am going through the mails . Between the daily magazines and the occasional bills . I notice a letter . It is addressed to Mr Lancali . As long as I remember there aren't any Lancali 's is our house .
I flip the letter and it is sent by some Evaline Cavaness . Do we know anybody by this name ? I'm sure it is a letter sent to the wrong address
