You had never been much of a baseball fan. With your best friends constantly hyping up the Seido baseball team, you figured it couldn't hurt to check them out.
The intensity of the play before you had you out of your seat as you cheered on the runner at base. You were amazed at the speed of his run leading him all the way through second base and turned to look at your friends with a cheesy smile.
And then you saw him.
Number 2. The catcher and captain. Miyuki Kazuya.
His walk up to the plate caught your attention. He carried an energy with him that made it hard for you to turn away from. His sharp eyes seemed to take in everything, a confident smirk tugging at his lips as he read the pitcher before him. The way he stared down the pitcher made it impossible to look away.
You didn't know much about baseball, but instantly you could tell that Miyuki was good. Really good. His reflexes were sharp and he had a way of making everything look effortless. He was also insanely attractive.
You found yourself leaning forward in your seat, your heart thudding a little faster every time Miyuki was on the field.
"Is it just me or is the catcher insanely hot?" The words left your mouth before you could really process them.
Your friends laughed. "That's Miyuki Kazuya. Total eye candy but he's kind of emotionally dense."
You barely registered the warning, too busy watching Miyuki take off his catcher's mask and run a hand through his hair.
Still caught up in the buzz of the game, you barely registered your friends gathering their stuff to head out. By the time the game ended, you were certain of one thing. You definitely had a massive crush on Miyuki Kazuya.
His voice carried out over the noise of the crowd on your way out. He was laughing at something one of them said and teasing the younger players. Then, as if feeling your gaze, he turned his head and your eyes met.
Your breath hitched. For a cliche moment, the world seemed to slow down for you. All the background noise faded. His brown eyes locked onto your gaze.
He held your gaze for a moment longer and then tilted his head slightly as if to say See you around.
You could feel the heat rising to your cheeks. Suddenly, the stadium felt too crowded. The rush of noise came flooding back.
You stood frozen, her heart pounding.
"Did he just—" one of your friends interrupted your thoughts.
"He totally noticed you." Both of your friends looked at you with a teasing smile.
You let out a shaky laugh. Maybe you had never paid much attention to Seido's baseball team before, but you had a feeling you'd be coming to more games from now on.
