Work Text:

Sakura hated men, as she downed a drink keeping an eye on the booth next to her. They were here for the same reason she was. To see her.

Her last relationship had ended because her boyfriend for seven months had seen in his words ‘the most beautiful girl he had laid his eyes upon.’ He didn’t feel right about continuing their relationship when he felt this way about another.

It was a cruel slap to the face.

Sakura asked if he was seeing someone else.

Cheating. He had to be right?

No, that really was all there was to it.

They had never talked, she never even glanced at him. She played ‘hard to get’ the men would say and had quite a fan club.

And apparently, she was a regular at this bar.

Sakura knew it wasn’t her fault, I mean how could someone end a relationship at the sight of someone. Let alone never talking/conversing with them. But she was curious and wanted to know who this woman was.

What was so special about her?

Ino had tried to talk her out of it, there was no use torturing and making herself feel bad by comparing herself to another woman. She knew her friend and her insecurities and besides she was an Uchiha.

All Uchiha’s were attractive, there was just no competing.

Even so, Sakura couldn’t deny there was another reason she was here. What for she wasn’t sure, something had brought her here today.

The door chimed and surely enough all the men’s heads from the booth next to her were turned with lovestruck heart eyes. Their faces red as could be and some even gave out wolf whistles.

Until they were given a glare from another two Uchiha’s the kunoichi was familiar with as her patients, Itachi and Shisui that had followed the woman in.

And suddenly Sakura wished she had listened to Ino’s words. As she found herself slowly slipping down the chair wanting it to swallow her whole because she recognised that face before. She was the same woman who she had hooked up with at Naruto’s birthday.

They didn’t get each other’s names because her friend had interrupted them and Sakura being so flustered and embarrassed ran away in the heat of the moment. They had never crossed paths again and Sakura wasn’t sure if she was thankful or not.

Still, was this really the moment to reunite?

Perhaps she and Ino could quickly sneak out the back before-

“Ah Haruno-San, it’s good to see you.” And of course, Itachi had to go over to them. Sakura felt herself gulp but gave a friendly smile and nod to them.

“It’s good to see you Itachi, and I told you to call me Sakura.” She could feel her eyes on her and Sakura could hope it wasn’t so obvious how nervous she was.

“Enjoying a drink after a long shift at the hospital, eh?” Shisui chuckled.

“You know it.” Ino grinned away enjoying this way too much.

“Mind if we joined you ladies, we need to keep an eye on this one. From other men, you know.” Shisui pointed towards the woman. “This is Satsuki, my sister.” Yeah, that checks out. Sakura finally spared a glance and made eye contact. She and Itachi did look alike.

However, when her eyes felled to her lips the memories of what transpired between them came flashing back and she was a damn good kisser. Better than her ex even.

“Do you two know each other?” It seemed the tension was obvious to Itachi.

“No!” They both said in union, there was a silent pause afterwards. No one probably believed them, even Ino was giving her a questioning look. It wasn’t exactly a lie though. They didn’t know each other, they just… hooked up with one another.

And if Itachi was her brother, it was understandable that she didn’t want to share such information.

The thought made Sakura go pale.

Would Itachi kill her if he found out she hooked up with his sister?

I mean she is a grown woman but still…

“Right, we’ll go grab us some drinks. Can we get anything for you ladies?”

“Oooh, yes please.” Ino was never one to miss a free drink, and neither was she. Itachi told Satsuki to make herself comfortable and that they’ll be back shortly. She gave a curt nod sitting on the other side of Sakura whose eyes were drawn to the suddenly interesting table they had.

“So, Satsuki-Chan, I heard you were part of the Anbu?” Ino decided to start a conversation, since her friend had now lost interest.

“Ah, that’s correct.”

“Wow, that’s impressive. Has that always been what you wanted to do?”

“Vaguely, I had an idea what I wanted to do sometime after the chunin exams.”

“Yeah, we were in the same class with Iruka. I thought I’d recognise you.” Satsuki nodded before turning to her companion.

“I heard your Tsunade’s apprentice?”

“Oh, uh yeah. I got quite lucky with that-”

“Pfft, she’s modest. She works really hard, hell even Tsunade heard of her accomplishments before asking.” Sakura gave Ino a sharp look, she didn’t want to boast.

“Tsunade wouldn’t take anyone as an apprentice, you must of really impressed her.”

“I… I did, yeah…” Sakura felt herself fiddling with her hair which had Ino a bit suspicious. The two continued talking and with the Uchiha’s smirk here and there along with Sakura’s stuttering only made her more curious.

Here her friend came here to see the woman that had captured the eyes of all the men including her ex and now she had captured her heart as well. Or was there something more that she didn’t know?

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you two were flirting.” She wanted to see their reaction but before either one of the two could speak a man approached them.

Him.

“Ah, Sakura I didn’t expect to see you here.” This certainly wasn’t awkward.

“What do you want Takahiro.” Suddenly Ino went very protective, and it didn’t take long for Satsuki to put two and two together. Considering just a moment ago Sakura mentioned about breaking up with a guy.

‘Who would be foolish enough to dump you.’ It seemed her friend hadn’t heard that as Sakura’s face flushed completely red. She was very easy to fluster but at least she now knew she was available.

He wasn’t really going to do this now was he? Ino thought. In front of Sakura?

“Actually, I wanted to ask.” He turned to the Uchiha. “You are very beautiful. Would you like to go on a date?”

Yup, he did…

And very foolish.

It was Naruto’s twenty-fourth birthday and like all birthdays he had to make a big deal and celebration.

With Satsuki being part of the Anbu now it was rare for her to spend time with her old teammate, but she made the effort because they hadn’t seen each other for a while, and he wouldn’t have left her alone otherwise.

Besides, Naruto knew how she values her freedom, and this was one of those cases where she could do what she wanted and wouldn’t have her father at her case.

It could be quite suffocating at home, growing up she was scolded and told how a lady must behave. How a woman must act whatever the hell that means. But she couldn’t be perfect all the time. It was part of the reason she decided to join the Anbu since she was fully capable.

She had no one constantly telling her how to sit and eat, I mean they were ninjas. What did it matter? Overtime her father let her be, it was the rest of the older Uchiha’s that would still remark how the ‘daughter whose father is the head of the clan’ must act.

They were at a club that had just opened, as Naruto thought it was the perfect place. He invited all his close friends, which was apparently a lot. This is Naruto.

Suigetsu had gone to get another drink for them and that’s when she saw her.

The girl with pink hair.

She was sitting alone in a booth, and something had a magnetic pull on her telling her to walk over and introduce herself so that’s what she did. That is after gaining her permission. They started to chat, and she told her how she needed a rest from all the dancing because she came after a shift at the hospital. It was impressive how she was still standing and awake all things considered.

They talked more about their jobs, her being a medic and Satsuki an Anbu as well as how they knew Naruto. Unsurprisingly he was a regular patient and over time they had formed quite a close bond. He did try to ask her out on dates, but she declined.

The more they talked casually the closer they got and before either knew it they had started flirting. Satsuki had only one drink beforehand, so she had no idea where this confidence was coming from. All she knew was that the medic was attractive, and she wanted to know what she tasted like.

She had made the first move leaning in and she responded. Their lips met; her hands tangled in her hair gripping it tightly tearing a low moan out of her. She tasted like vanilla and cherry which suited her. Satsuki tilted her head to gain better access, as she had her back up on her seat with their chests pressed up against one another.

Neither knew how long they had been kissing. A couple of seconds/minutes? Before they broke apart leaving a trail of saliva linking them. Her lips met the stranger’s neck, eliciting an alluring moan and she wanted to know just how many times she could make her do so by the end of the night. She made sure to leave a couple of hickies smirking before the woman pulled her back to her lips wanting to taste her more. By now the medic’s hair which before was tied up in a bun was loose and messy thanks to her work.

And that’s when Suigetsu came back.

“Here’s your drink Sasu-Chan!” Suigetsu called until he froze seeing the display. The two immediately tore away although their hair was a mess.

“Oh! Uh, sorry. Should I come back?” His face was red embarrassed to have walked in on something so intimate and were those hickies? This wasn’t like his friend so how was he to know? They looked like they wanted to say something, anything but had to catch their breath.

And not being able to take such embarrassment Sakura quickly excused herself dashing away leaving Satsuki to just stare at an empty space. She didn’t even get her name.

Did she come on too strong?

Suigetsu had constantly been apologising the entire night saying the drinks were on him as she pouted. She wanted to go after her but wasn’t sure if that was the right idea.

“What are you in such a sour mood for huh?” Naruto asked noticing her spacing out a lot.

“I ruined her date.”

“You did what?!” Needless to say, her teammate badgered her on the entire night saying he could give her a name but what use would that be? Wouldn’t that make her look like some type of stalker, she didn’t want to scare her any further, so Satsuki mourned her loss with drinks deciding to enjoy the rest of the night with her friends.

Perhaps one day they’ll meet again.

Satsuki turned away coldly.

“You’re not my type.” And suddenly with a smirk rested her chin on her hand looking at Sakura.

“Your ex on the other hand very much is.” Sakura could feel herself turning red feeling all their gazes on her.

“Eh?”

“I KNEW IT!” Ino had shouted practically squealing.

Itachi and Shisui came next with their drinks oblivious to what had just transpired.

“What did we miss?”
