   Summary

   Deep north in the Eastern lands lies the Huxiao mountains the home of the Lang people, offset from contact to the rest of the world letting them have a deep connection with the land. content and peaceful for many years, unbothered by outside forces.
   Until the marches of soldiers came upon them, an empire calling themselves Kou invade the mountains in the belief of uniting the world under one. And for five years they have fought off their invasion.

   That is the story the elders have been telling him since he was fourteen but Batu is seeing his people faltering more and more realizing bloody dirt he's standing on. The lost of many weigh heavier everyday, yet Kou does not fall.
   How much longer till nothing is left but the choice of submission or annihilation.
