Summary:

If you thought you were Jang Wonyoung's biggest fan, Kim Jiwon could prove you wrong.

Who else has Jang Wonyoung's entire physical discography, including all of the limited versions, perfectly arranged chronologically on a shelf with every single one of Jang Wonyoung's various brand collab items sprinkled along the self? Only Kim Jiwon.

Jiwon is Jang Wonyoung's self-proclaimed number one fangirl. No one could love her more than Jiwon does.

After attending her show in Las Vegas, Jiwon finds herself at a bar rambling to everyone around her about her love for the idol.

Little does she know, said idol overheard everything she has said from across the bar.

Work Text:

The sun diffuses through the translucent curtains that lay over the window giving the room a soft yellow glow. Jiwon slowly opens her eyes to give her pupils time to adjust to the light; she quickly shuts them again as her head pounds due to her eyes sensitivity to the brightness. She gently stretches her arms above her head and reaches for an extra pillow beside her head to use as a shield from the beaming morning sun. As she pats the bed beside her in her search for her spare pillow, she lightly smacks a warm but solid object. She continues to smack the unknown object in her bed until she hears a groan come from the object. Her eyes shoot open.

What the—

Jiwon snaps her head towards the noise that came from beside her. Instead of her precious spare pillow lying beside her, a girl with long wavy raven hair laid beside her, facing the opposite direction from Jiwon.

“Could you not smack me first thing in the morning,” the girl beside her rasps out; her voice still sounding like sleep.

Jiwon takes a second to finally look around and observe her surroundings. She scans the room; no posters of various idols scattered all over the walls, her desk was strangely empty—lacking of her Jang Wonyoung shrine, the sheets were oddly bright white—wait, this wasn’t Jiwon’s room. She springs up into a sitting position and finally looks over at the girl beside her.

Holy crap… That’s THE Jang Wonyoung beside me. The blonde’s jaw hung open, Okay… don’t freak out. I need to get out of here FAST… This is so awkward.

The younger girl quickly threw the sheets off herself and scanned the room for any of her possible belongings. Thankfully she was still wearing the clothes she wore last night. She spotted her phone on the nightstand beside the bed plugged into the charger that came attached to the nightstand. She ripped the chord from the port that was plugged into her phone and hastily made her way towards the door. As she was about to turn the handle and slip out without any trace, the raven haired girl called out for her.

“Where do you think you’re going, Jiwon?” The blonde froze.

“Uhhh…”

Wonyoung sat up and made her way towards Jiwon, “Leaving so soon,” she pouted, “You are the only one night stand that has tried to leave before I woke up,” she joked. “Usually, they all want to stay.”

“Uhhh…”

“Is that all you have to say, Jiwon-ie. I thought you would’ve been ecstatic to wake up next to me. You were all over me last night. There wasn’t a second that you weren’t clinging onto me. I’m hurt.”

“Uhhhhhh…”

“Really, you have nothing to say to me?” the taller girl chuckles. She placed her cold, delicate hand onto Jiwon’s cheek—caressing it softly. She leaned in closer to the younger girl, “You know… we’re technically on our honeymoon right now.”

“WHAT!” the younger girl jumped back—breaking away from Wonyoung’s touch. “W-what are you talking about.”

The raven haired girl held up her left hand in front of Jiwon’s face. A simple dainty gold ring rested on her soft long fingers. The former then grabbed the latter’s left hand with hers and interlaced their fingers together before bringing their conjoined hands up to Jiwon’s face. A matching ring rested delicately on Jiwon’s ring finger, mirroring the one on Wonyoung’s perfectly.

“When did this happen,” Jiwon gasped in disbelief. “This has to be some kind of joke.”

“It’s very much real, love. You can ask your friends that were with you at the bar, they are the witnesses of our marriage last night.”

“LAST NIGHT??? YUJIN AND REI LET ME GET MARRIED LAST NIGHT. WHAT!”

Wonyoung chuckled. “You were very insistent that we get married last night, even your friends couldn’t convince you otherwise. You are a very stubborn girl, Jiwon. Once you have your mind set on something, you don’t give up until you get what you want. It’s very charming though. Clearly, it worked since we are married now.”

Jiwon stared intensely at their conjoined hands, trying to remember the events that occurred the night before. It was starting to slowly come back to her.

It started two days ago. Jiwon had secured tickets to see Jang Wonyoung at her sold out show in Las Vegas. She had begged Yujin and Rei to accompany her to the show so she could split the cost of a hotel room with the couple; she had to find places where she could save some money since she literally spent her entire savings on these tickets. The trio had made their way to Vegas a day before the show in order to spend some time exploring the infamous Sin City—as well as entertaining Jiwon’s delusions of bumping into her favourite pop star randomly on the streets while exploring the city. Of course that didn’t happen though.

The next day, they spent the entire morning getting ready for the concert. Jiwon was freaking out about her concert outfit. Even though she had prepared and perfected her outfit a month before, it was not feeling right for the concert. She dug through her suitcase, praying she brought another outfit that would satisfy her. Yujin and Rei had just watched the blonde trash their entire hotel room, spreading every single article of clothing on every surface of the room.

“Jiwon, I highly doubt that Wonyoung would even see us. I don’t think your outfit matters that much. Just wear what you had initially prepared.” Yujin exclaimed as she tightly gripped onto Jiwon’s shoulders, trying to break her out of her panic trance.

“Yujin, you don’t understand. What if she does see me, you never know. If I look trash in front of her, that would be so embarrassing. I’ll never be able to leave the house ever again.” the fangirl whined.

Rei rolled her eyes, “When do you even leave the house in the first place. I swear I have only seen you outside a handful of times; I could probably count the number of times I’ve seen you outside of your home.”

“Rei, that was so rude. I do leave my house. How else would I get my money that I spend on Jang Wonyoung? I have to leave my house to go to work to make money,” Jiwon retorted.

Rei just shook her head and stuck out her tongue at Jiwon.

Yujin sighed, “I’m going to go for a walk. The mess is making me feel anxious. Rei, come join me.” The shorter girl happily jumped from her seat and grabbed onto Yujin’s hand, “We’ll be back in an hour. Please have all of this cleaned up or else I’m going to literally have a freak out.”

As soon as the hotel door closed, Jiwon face-planted onto her bed. She let out a muffled scream before standing back up. “Okay, we need to lock in. Wonyoung is waiting for us.” the girl mumbled to herself.

After 15 different outfits—why Jiwon brought enough clothes on a three day trip to make 15  different outfits is a mystery even Jiwon doesn’t know the answer to—the blonde girl finally settled on an outfit that was a slightly modified version of her original outfit. The trio was finally off to the concert. Jiwon had been anticipating this day since the show had been announced. She specifically bought a calendar dedicated to just marking off the days until this show occurred. She also created and posted 12 different Instagram countdowns that she saved in her highlights on her page. The moment she had been anticipating for what felt like forever was about to occur. Butterflies filled her stomach, and she grew more anxious as they approached the venue. Before leaving the hotel room, she triple-checked her concert essentials checklist.

Her Wonyoung lightstick. Check.

Her Wonyoung picket. Check.

Her signed Wonyoung photocard secured in a safe theft-proof photocard holder. Check.

Her Wonyoung signature cherry perfume. Check.

Her lucky Wonyoung socks. Check.

Yujin rolled her eyes as Jiwon went through her entire checklist 3 times before they left the hotel room.

When they entered the venue, the ambience of the venue almost made Jiwon tear up. Fans filled the seats around the trio softly discussing the possible setlist, and the soft glow of the stage shone brightly in the dim theatre. Jiwon’s anticipation grew as a cloud of excitement and anxiousness filled the room as the audience waited for their beloved idol to enter the stage.

When the lights of the venue finally shut off, Jiwon felt her stomach drop. She held her breath as she watched the opening VCR play. The seconds of silence and darkness that filled the room moments after the VCR ended felt like hours to Jiwon. The moment she had been waiting for has finally come. As Jang Wonyoung’s silhouette appeared on stage, screams and cheers filled the room. Jiwon could not utter a word. She was starstruck by Jang Wonyoung’s silhouette; she couldn’t believe that Jang Wonyoung was real and that she was standing just meters away from her. The spotlights turned on and the beginning notes of Wonyoung’s opening song played. The concert was now in full swing.

Jiwon spent the entire concert screaming her lungs out, singing along to the songs, and belting out the fanchants in the off chance that Jang Wonyoung would see or hear her.

By the end of the concert, Jiwon’s voice became extremely raspy and she could only whisper to talk. Rei and Yujin had both laughed at Jiwon’s current predicament. In response, Jiwon could only slap them both to stop their teasing.

As the trio left the venue, they passed by a bar. Deciding to seize the moment, they entered the bar.

After 2 shots and 1 and a half of whatever drink Jiwon ordered, Jiwon started to ramble about her love for Jang Wonyoung. Having already heard her sober confessions of love 20 times in the past 2 days, Rei and Yujin downed the rest of whatever they were drinking and made their way to the dancefloor, leaving Jiwon to ramble to the innocent bystanders at the bar.

“Jang Wonyoung… You don’t understand, she’s the idol of all idols. The ideal girl. She’s just so perfect. What’s there not to love about her? She is talented, sooo kind, and of course she’s the most gorgeous woman on this planet—wait no, this universe. Her beauty transcends our entire universe. In every universe she would be the most beautiful woman ever. How can I love anyone other than her? Jang Wonyoung, you should be held responsible for my misery because I’ll never find someone that can meet your standards; no one will ever be better than you.” Jiwon sobbed, to no one in particular. No one was really sure who she was talking to; they just let her be. “I wish that one day Jang Wonyoung would acknowledge me. If I won the lottery, I don’t want the prize to be some insane sum of money, no I want to win at least 5 minutes in the same room as Jang Wonyoung, nothing more and nothing less. I think if I ever saw her and got the chance to speak with her, I would ask her to marry me. I don’t think I could marry anyone else but her. I’m fully committed to her. I would treat her so well; I would never look at any other woman but her, I’ll be fully devoted to her and only her. She wouldn’t have to worry about me cheating on her because I can’t look at anyone else but her. Jang Wonyoung, I’m fully yours, I can’t love anyone but you.”

Jiwon continued her declaration of love for her favourite idol, talking to no one in particular. She was just doing her drunk ramblings to anyone that made the mistake of taking a seat beside her at the bar. After a while, all the patrons knew to avoid sitting in the chair beside her. As Jiwon was going on her 6th tangent of the night about her favourite idol, a girl slid into the chair beside the girl.

Jiwon noticed the new girl right away. She turned to face the girl. Through her blurred drunken vision, she noticed some features on the girl that resembled her favourite idol. Of course that kick started her 7th tangent of the night.

“Woah, you know, you kind of look like Jang Wonyoung. Has anyone ever told you that? Because they should, that’s such a good compliment to look like Jang Wonyoung. Do you know who Jang Wonyoung is?”

The other girl smiled at Jiwon’s question, “Yeah, of course I know who Jang Wonyoung is. Didn’t she play a show tonight?”

“Oh my god, yes she did do a show tonight. It was amazing. I’ve never seen her so closely in real life but wow, she’s so charming up close. I think I fell more in love with her. Which I didn’t think that I could do since I’m already so in love with her.’

“Wow, you really do love Jang Wonyoung, huh?”

“Yes I do,” Jiwon excitedly jumped up. She stumbled slightly due to the amount of drinks she’s consumed. The raven-haired girl beside her quickly grabbed onto her hips to try and steady the drunken girl. However, the girl severely underestimated how drunk Jiwon was, and the latter tripped and fell onto the raven-haired girl’s lap.

Jiwon looked up at the angel that had caught her, resting her hand against her cheek. “I think I’m in love with you.”

The other girl chuckled, “Well, isn’t it too soon to be confessing that to me. I don’t even know your name.” She teasingly poked the blonde’s nose.

“Well… I don’t—I don’t think it's too soon. I know love when I see it. My name’s Jiwon, and I think that we should get married… like right now.”

“Woah, now we’re moving quite fast now, Jiwon.”

“So what… I think I just found the love of my life, and it's a bonus that she also looks like my Jang Wonyoung. So, why not. We gotta carpe diem—that’s Latin for seize the day; I learned that from watching Phineas and Ferb. Anyways, we should head down to those 24 hour chapels and get married now. You know, it’s like that saying, ‘whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’, it doesn’t have to be a serious marriage. Plus, I’ll never get married in the first place. I wanna know what it feels like to be married. So, let's just do it.”

The other girl watched Jiwon with amusement, “And what would I get out of this marriage? It feels like this is a one-sided marriage where you reap all the benefits.”

“Nooo…. I’ll be an amazing wife I promise, so long as you don’t get jealous over my love for Jang Wonyoung. I can cook, I can clean—what else—just ask my friends. They’ll tell you I’m amazing. Honestly, like the best wife you could get.”

“Hmm… You do sound very convincing. I’ll take you up on your offer as long as you live up to your promise that you’ll be the best wife that’s ever existed on this planet.”

“Oh my god yes. I will be the wife-iest wife that’s ever lived. When you look up the definition of wife in the dictionary, I’ll show up as an example of wife. There will be no regrets I promise. Plus, you look like Jang Wonyoung, and this will be the closest I can get to actually marrying her, so I’ll be the most faithful wife since I can’t have Jang Wonyoung. Though, I have to say that if the case that Jang Wonyoung actually asks me to marry her, I will have to get a divorce from you because I can’t turn down that offer, but, other than her, I’ll never leave you for anyone else.”

The girl smiled, “That’s perfect. Let’s get married then.”

The newly formed couple made their way out of the bar and down to one of the many 24/7 chapels that exists in Vegas after wrangling a tipsy Rei and Yujin from the dance floor. The quartet burst through the doors of the chapel, Jiwon and the raven-haired girl declaring to the exhausted priest that they wanted to get married.

The priest sighed but agreed, it was his job though. He leads the couple towards the altar and directs Yujin and Rei to sit in the pews that face the altar.

“We are gathered here today–i mean tonight in the presence of God to witness and bless this union. Here we have—what’s your name again?” the priest asked Jiwon.

“Jiwon. Kim Jiwon”, the blonde slurs.

“And yours?” He faces the raven-haired girl.

“Jang Wonyoung,” she smiled.

“Here we have Kim Jiwon and Jang Wonyoung. As you stand here before friends and God, I ask you to declare your intentions to join in the sacred covenant of marriage. Now, Jiwon, do you take Jang Wonyoung to be your wife, to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her, as long as you both shall live?”

“I do.”

“And Wonyoung, do you take Kim Jiwon to be your wife, to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others, be faithful to her, as long as you both shall live?”

“Of course.”

“Okay, now Jiwon and Wonyoung will exchange rings as a symbol of their commitment and devotion to each other." The priest hands both of the girls a simple gold ring each, “Jiwon, you may place the ring on Wonyoung’s hand.”

Jiwon gently grabs Wonyoung’s hand and clumsily tries to slide the ring onto her ring finger. After two attempts, she manages to slide it on. Jiwon turns back to the priest, giving him a cheesy smile.

“And now, Wonyoung, you may place the ring onto Jiwon’s hand.”

Unlike Jiwon, Wonyoung was barely tipsy. So, she was able to smoothly slide the ring onto Jiwon’s hand in one smooth motion.

“Kim Jiwon and Jang Wonyoung, having witnessed your marriage vows in the eyes of God and before all who are assembled here, by the authority invested in me by the State of Nevada, I pronounce you wife and wife. You may kiss the bride!”

The room was awkwardly silent. Rei and Yujin had fallen asleep on the pews, missing out on their entire wedding. Jiwon, still being extremely drunk, wasted no time. She messily grabbed Wonyoung’s cheek and leaned in. Wonyoung, clearly caught off guard, quickly closed her eyes and waited in anticipation for the kiss. Jiwon leaned in slowly, but having her mind impaired with alcohol, her depth perception was slightly off and she completely missed Wonyoung’s lips. Instead, Jiwon gave a peck to Wonyoung’s cheek.

The pastor cheered and then quickly shooed them out of the chapel so he could head home and finally rest.

Jiwon was on cloud 9. Who knew that marriage was so exhilarating. She didn’t want to go home yet. But Rei and Yujin were ready to head back to their hotel room and crash. Jiwon pouted, stumbled, and then clung onto Wonyoung’s arm, “I don’t want to go to sleep yet. I want to stay with my wife a little longer. Please don’t make me go home with them.”

Wonyoung giggled, “Love, you had a lot to drink. I think you should sleep it off. It won’t feel great in the morning if you don’t sleep.”

Jiwon, on the edge of tears, clung onto Wonyoung tighter, “No… Please. I don’t wanna go with them. I can’t leave my wife. What if I wake up tomorrow and never see you again. I need to savour this for a little longer.”

“Okay, how’s this? You come home with me and sleep with me. That way when you wake up tomorrow, I’ll still be there and we will see each other tomorrow morning.”

“Yes. I love that. I don’t ever want you to leave. I love you so much, I can’t handle the thought of being abandoned so early in my marriage.”

“Okay, let’s say bye to your friends.”

“Bye Yujin. Bye Rei. I’m going to sleep with my wife. Woah, I have a wife now. That’s so cool. Can you guys believe I’m married? I think I can get used to married life.”

Wonyoung giggled again, “Okay, so let's head to my hotel room now.”

“Let’s go!!” Jiwon cheered, still clinging onto Wonyoung.

“Jiwon?” Wonyoung asked, her head tilted slightly, “You there?”

“This can’t be real…  This is so embarrassing.” Jiwon hid her face in her free hand, “Why would you agree to all of this. Even after my drunk ramblings about you.”

Wonyoung smiled, “It was cute. When I walked in and immediately saw you rambling about your love for me so carelessly. Like you didn’t care who heard. You were proud to love me. I liked that confidence.”

Jiwon groaned into her free hand, her other hand still held securely by Wonyoung’s, “The marriage… Was that real or like was it just a tourist trap that doesn’t have any legal binding to it. Please be the second one.”

“Well, looking at the rings and this marriage certificate on the nightstand…” Wonyoung smiled, “It looks like you’re stuck with me. Until we get a divorce,” Wonyoung giggled.

At this moment, Jiwon wished that she had earth bending abilities that would allow her to open up a hole in the ground that would swallow her and get her out of this embarrassing moment.

Jiwon held her head low, “I’m sorry for getting you into this mess.”

Wonyoung grabbed her chin and forced Jiwon to look into her eyes, “It’s alright, I agreed to this mess as well. I’m equally to blame for all this too. But, on the bright side, I have a really cute wife now.”

Jiwon’s cheeks flushed and she gave Wonyoung a shy smile.

“WAIT, what are your fans going to think about you getting married. OH MY GOD I HAVE A TARGET ON MY BACK NOW. I CAN'T FIGHT OH NO. I’m too young to die.” Jiwon broke off of Wonyoung and jumped face down onto the mattress.

Wonyoung giggled, “I’ll protect you, don’t worry.”
