Solalumen brought a rock home. It was just a normal rock, lumpy and gray and the same as any other, but she picked this one out very intentionally. The instant she got home, she had already gathered her watercolor set and started to paint it with patterns of orange and green and purple, abstract bursts of color. And, to Sasha’s wonder, the shapes really did perfectly fit onto that lopsided surface like this project was what the rock was meant for.
She hoped the painter’s inspiration would find Sasha’s soul next, and she wondered what colors would fit its lumps.
