“Bartiemus Crouch Junior what have you done?”the redhead fumed as she closed the book Barty was reading.
Barty laughed smugly. “Saw my test scores, hm?”
“I'm a fucking T.A, Crouch, of course I saw your test score. You must have cheated or something.”
Barty grinned, pushed his chair back from the table he was sitting at and patted his lap, inviting Lily to sit down. She obliged silently, sitting down like a queen on her throne, her arms crossed over her chest like a pouting toddler.
“I didn't cheat, okay? We promised to fight fair this time. I actually took the test and evidently did well. Apparently my weird interests as you call them paid off.”Barty said in her ear, wrapping his arms around her waist.
“Fine, fine. I guess I can accept that. But your lack of studying is still weird. Especially when you get higher scores than I do.”
“So am I but clearly you don't mind that too much, huh?”
Lily cracked a slight smile. “I'm in love with you.”
“I love you too. Now get back to your book club. I'll be in here annoying Regulus and well, reading.”
“What book is it?”
Barty picked up the book from the table in front of them and Lily smiled.
“You're just normally reading a textbook?”she teased him.
“Mhm. I figured I might as well match up with that Snape boy you hang out with.”
“Hung out with.”Lily corrected.
“Oh? Had a little falling out with your prodigy friend, hm?”
“He called me a slur so I told him to leave me the hell alone.”
“Guess that's the price you pay for turning on people, huh?”
Lily sighed and got up from her boyfriend's lap, giving him a gentle cheek kiss before heading to one of the other corners of the room to join her friends. Barty watched as she walked away with a slight smirk before picking his book back up and cracking it open again.
