With a relieved sigh Gaming collapses onto the couch. After spending a full day working he was exhausted especially since he had to learn all the ins and outs of such a different world. It definitely helps that his new job isn't too different from what he did in Teyvat but still it's pretty different.
Feeling Man Chai sir in his lap Gaming relaxes knowing the day is almost over and tomorrow is a day off. He tries watching the TV but honestly it still confuses him so he's left just watching the news not knowing how to change the channel. So sitting there he let the TV be background noise as his mind wandered and landed on his roommate, as it tended to these days.
Freminet was a nice comfort knowing he also was dealing with this made him calmer, less alone. He's made friends yes but Freminet is just nicer because he knows they can relate to each other and confide in each other, to some degree. He may never have known the blond on Teyvat but honestly he couldn't care less Freminet was a good companion through all this. Him being gorgeous inside and out is a big reason for that.
With a glance at a nearby clock he realized it was almost like for Freminet to arrive home. When either of them come home there was a certain routine. Freminet would quietly enter shower, have a meal, and then unless asked would go about doing one of his hobbies, mechanics or reading. Gaming's routine starts off the same with a shower and meal but differs as he would start yapping about his day and then either do something on his own or ask Freminet or a friend to join him in an activity.
So expecting the same routine he stayed still awaiting Freminet's return and taking his time to relax. However he quickly notices that something stands out as when the front door opens he can hear Freminet stumble around before locking the door and rushing in front of Gaming. Opening his eyes Gaming looks at Freminet and sees an entirely unexpected sight.
Freminet has a small smile on his face and a shimer of pure joy in his eyes that Gaming can't help but find endlessly endearing and adorable, "How'd your day go? Clearly something good happened." Gaming questioned feeling his face heat up a bit.
But Freminet didn't seem to notice as he gleefully nodded and responded, "M- Grace said I could start making some of the machines!"
Gaming may not understand why this makes Freminet so happy but he'll celebrate and congratulate him regardless.
"That's great! What changed today? Did you do something impressive to convince her?"
With a shake of his head Freminet begins to speak more than Gaming would have expected from him, "I was sitting around tinkering with Pers as Grace stepped out for some time to deal with some other issues when Ben came in. He has found a broken jack hammer and brought it for Grace to fix and when I told him she was out he asked me if I could try to fix it. After some time I tried and I actually fixed it! When Grace came back and saw the jack hammer fixed she was so impressed she said she'd start teaching me how to actually make some equipment!"
For a moment Gaming is caught off guard by how much Freminet just spoke and how happy he sounded that he forgets to respond. When he does he can feel the wide smile on his face, "I think This calls for a bit of celebrating don't you? Let's order out to any place you want all my treat I swear." Freminet shakes his head but before he can protest Gaming interjects, "Common this is a big thing you deserve to be treated for that so just pick a place and I'll get what ever you want!" It's obvious he was still going to disagree but he seemed to give up on the idea and just starts thinking what he wants to get.
Gaming takes the moment to admire him seeing his face so bright and happy, because he gets an itching feeling he won't be seeing that as often as he'd like. Finally after only a minute Freminet answers that he wants to order from waterfall soup as Gaming expected. With an order of Red Chili Chicken noodles and Seafood noodles sent the two fall into a comfortable silence as Freminet sits down, but one glance at the TV and Freminet speaks up, "Why are you always watching the news when I get home?" With an awkward chuckle Gaming sheepishly admits that he doesn't know how to use the remote to which Freminet offers to show him and he readily agrees wanting to learn how to change the channel and hear Freminet speak.
By the time the food arrives Gaming has finally learned how the remote works and the channel changes from the news to some cartoon neither of them know of, but they don't change it cause they don't really know anything else they could watch. Food in hand the two fall into conversation again talking about their days, things they saw, people they met everything because not a thing seemed unimportant in this new world.

A few hours later Gaming is asleep and Freminet is still awake. His sleep schedule has been off since they got here as he no longer had to wake up super early just to do missions or training so he finds himself staying awake late more often then before. He thinks about the few people he's met how nice they've all been.
Eventually he starts to think about Gaming. He remembers seeing him at lantern rite performing his big wushou dance and he can't help but feel happy they were together for this. He never knew Gaming personally and honestly there are definitely some people he would have preferred to be with but of all the possibilities he's glad he's with Gaming as it's definitely one of the better possibilities.
He turns his eyes towards Gaming seeing him spread across the couch light snores to prove he was asleep. A terrible question falls into his mind and he can't help but worry over it. How would Gaming react when he finds out Freminet used to be apart of the Fatui? After everything that happened the Fatui don't really exist anymore especially in this new world but still would Gaming feel betrayed? He knows that most people have a distain for the Fatui and he wouldn't be shocked if Gaming felt the same way, Freminet wouldn't really blame him either the Fatui did so terrible things. But he still holds out hope that Gaming could move past such a thing because loosing him too would leave Freminet with a wound he doesn't think could ever be healed.
He shakes the question away because today was supposed be a good day these were concerns for the future. He decided to just focus on the glimmer of hope that this would truly be the new start he hoped for.
