Frost Injury

Summary:

Drabble Challenge Day 5 - Cold

Notes:

Okay I usually don't care that I'm posting stories just for me, but idk maybe someone could be curious about this? So basically this is an AU of the Winter Kingdom world featured in Fionna and Cake where Fionna and Cake never come to the world and one of Candy Queen's schemes to get close to Winter King results in creating a person with both of their magical natures, essentially a child of the two of them (though of course not through sex or anything like that). Now Winter King has no interest in this kid, and Candy Queen cannot hold the idea of their existence in her mind long enough to form an opinion, so they end up abandoned in the woods and semi-raised by an apathetic fox named Colin. And they end up somewhat a parallel to Finn as a character (a hero who wants to grow up and learn who they are), but with a much harder time for them than Finn had for a few reasons (Colin is like a less wise and caring Jake, their magical nature is confusing to them, Winter King, the PB-equivalent-ish, is disdainful to them, etc.)

Unless I state otherwise, I am okay with any transformative work of my fanfictions (fanart, playlists, fan-fanfiction, continuations, podfics, translations, etc.) so long as you link back to my fanfiction and notify me in some way of your creation. If you would rather talk about your plans privately instead of in the comments of this work, you can contact me on tumblr at @beacandy or @beatrixcandy or on bluesky at @beacandy.bsky.social.

Work Text:

Anise left the Winter Kingdom with a rare grin. They had… a quest! The past few times they came to the Winter Kingdom, they were sent away with nothing, but this time, The King had an important mission for them.

It was an incredible feeling. Whenever they talked to The King, they felt something cold in their chest growing so tight it could squeeze them. Pride. That feeling was pride, surely. This quest would not be easy, but they could do it!

They swore on their sword they would do as Winter King had asked and slay the dangerous snipes.
