“Hey Fushiguro!” Itadori bursts into his room, practically radiating with shine. He should really start locking the door, Fushiguro notes to himself.
“Hello Itadori. I totally wasn’t hoping for a bit of privacy…” He rolls his eyes, his tone practically dripping with sarcasm. “Well, get up! Don’t just waste our free time, let's go out!” “Go ask Nobara, I have things to do today,” He gets up from his bed, grabbing his phone and wallet, hoping Itadori gets the idea.
“C’mon! She already said no, she’s having a girls day out with Maki or something— so why don’t we have a boys day out!” Fushiguro can swear he sees stars in the other’s eyes, yet he can’t help but smile at Itadori’s excitement.
But he really shouldn’t fold so easily— especially for Itadori.
“Pleaseeee Fushiguro! It’ll be fun, I swear! We can go out to get something to eat, then we can go to the movies, and after that, I promise I’ll get you ice cream after,”
But seeing the eagerness and genuine care on itadori’s face, Fushiguro couldn’t help but fall for it.
“Fine, we can go…”
The sun is bright in Tokyo, and the streets are crowded. “Can’t believe you convinced me to come out to the city,” Fushiguro sighs, shoving his phone in his pocket. He really isn’t fond of crowded areas, but with Itadori by his side, he feels a bit more at ease.
“There’s this one stand I discovered with Gojo-sensei, and they have such good crepes there, you have to try it,” Itadori grabs onto Fushiguro’s wrist, dragging him through the crowd.
Fushiguro’s heart suddenly beats faster, Itadori’s warm touch causing his cheeks to slightly heat up. All of a sudden, the crowd around them disappears. All he sees is Itadori.
In this world— just him and Itadori.
However, Itadori soon lets go as they reach the stand. “See, there's both savoury and sweet. Personally, I really liked the strawberry cream one, but… I’ll try something new today!”
Fushiguro snaps out of his thoughts, turning to look at Itadori. “What do you want, Fushiguro?” He looks at the menu, then back at Itadori. “You said the strawberry cream was good, right? Then I’ll get that,”
“Hi Miss!” “Oh, aren’t you that sweet boy from the other day? Who came with that man with white hair?” The shopkeeper smiles at Itadori, and Fushiguro couldn’t help slightly smile at this sweet interaction.
“Yes! I brought along my best friend this time!” He grabs onto his arm, dragging him closer. “Ah, hello.” Fushiguro slightly bows awkwardly. “What could I get you both?” “I wanna try the smoked salmon crepe, and he’ll get the strawberry cream one,” Itadori gleams, as he reaches for his pockets, but Fushiguro stops him.
“It’s okay, I’ll pay this time,” “No, I’m paying. I asked you to hangout, so it’s my responsibility to pay!” He quickly says, bringing out his wallet and handing the lady a bill. “Itadori! That wasn’t necessary, besides, you are paying for ice cream. This would just make us even,”
But Itadori just shakes his head in disagreement. “I’m paying for movies too,” “But–” “No but’s, this was my idea, that’s why I’m taking the responsibility of paying!”
“But you do know that I love spending time with you, right Itadori?”
And he could swear he sees a light blush form on the other’s cheeks at this comment.
“Really?” Itadori looks at him, his eyes reflecting his genuine personality. “Yeah. Really.” Fushiguro gives him a small smile.
“Here you boys go,” She hands both of them their crepes. “Thank you!” “Thank you.” They both say, and she gives them both a sweet smile. “Please come visit soon,”
The first bite is heavenly to Fushiguro. The creme in the crepe is so lightweight, and is sweet without being too sweet. The slices of strawberries make it even better, and he can’t help but mutter a few compliments to Itadori.
“See, I told you it’s amazing! Now, let’s head to our movies!”
Although the movie is definitely something Fushiguro would never watch, he couldn’t help but love how passionate Itadori is about movies. Especially the one they just watched. He constantly talks and talks and talks about what happened in the movie, breaking down and analyzing every moment in it.
The passion in his eyes causes Fushiguro’s cheeks to warm up again, feeling the sensation of his heart beating again.
By now, the sun is starting to set, and if Fushiguro said the sunlight on Itadori didn’t make him look beautiful, he’d be lying. He can feel his heart restrict at the view, and he can admire him all day.
Suddenly, he breaks him out of his thoughts, “Now, let me buy you ice cream!” “Itadori, you really don’t have to,”
But he does anyway. They keep walking down the streets until they find an ice cream truck parked at the side of the road. “What ice cream do you want?” Itadori asks, looking at the menu.
“Just vanilla for me,” “What! You don’t like trying different flavours?” Fushiguro shakes his head. To be honest, he never liked going outside his comfort zone, especially when it came to food. That’s why he would always just buy the same thing in hopes it’ll always taste good.
“No, not really,” “How about, you do two scoops, one vanilla and one other flavour! Maybe like mango?” Although he wouldn’t prefer taking the risk, he couldn’t help but want to try it at Itadori’s words. “Fine, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try…”
The risk is all worth it when he sees Itadori’s smile. Itadori walks up to the truck, greeting the person. He orders brownie fudge in a cone for himself, and two scoops in a cup for Fushiguro.
Fushiguro waits off to the side, admiring Itadori during his interaction. He couldn’t stop that warm fuzzy feeling in his chest, knowing that Itadori is one of the sweetest people he’s met.
“Here you go, Fushiguro!” He hands him the cup, a huge smile plastered on his face. “Thank you so much, Itadori, seriously. I had fun today,” And he smiles, which is very rare.
“You don’t have to say thank you— I like hanging out with you. I hope you know that,” And once again, Itadori smiles. But it wasn’t like any of the other smiles he had the whole day.
This smile is one of his rare smiles, the one Fushiguro admired the most. It’s one of the smiles that makes Fushiguro feel like everything in life will be alright.
Fushiguro couldn’t help but think, “I can stay like this forever…”
