Chapter Text
Masha's aunt had noticed something recently. They had been coming home a lot happier. Which was a relief to her. Masha had been so out of it when they came home from work or school usually.
It started after this one day. They hopped onto the kitchen island, which usually she would scold them, and actually talked to her about their day.
Then they headed upstairs to get ready for the haunted hayride. They even took time to tidy up their room.
She brought Masha there and took the hayride once before leaving, Masha insisted that they would be able to get a ride home after their shift.
Also, they would be home before 11:30 p.m.
That wasn't a hundred percent truthful. Cause one a.m rolled around, and they had just entered through the door. Closing the door carefully like they would when they would sneak out back with their parents.
Their aunt wasn't mad just concerned. But all of the worry for her nibling faded when Masha leaned on the door. Took off their witches' hat and put it on their chest dramatically.
They had leaned on the door and let out a dreamy sigh. Saying they had met the most amazing girl, which was surprisingly the last time they ever told her aunt anything about a crush was Luz from camp.
The girl didn't have a ride home and so Masha worked something to get her home, and they talked on the back of the hayride and a little after they pulled up to her house.
Their aunt sent them to bed.
The following morning, Masha was much brighter. They usually were after Halloween, but this was a new degree.
Chapter 2: New Home
Summary:
Masha gets kicked out
Notes:
More character development for Masha, how they began living with their aunt, sorry if it's bad or messy.
If I feel insensitive I apologize! It is not my intention just how I personally chose to display it as it is not meant to be over dramatic and angry
Masha is misgendered briefly in sibling situation context
(Vee is Luz also goes by she/they pronouns in my headcanon)
Chapter Text
Masha had just returned home from camp and well they had learned quite a lot about themselves.
Firstly, they had really been thinking about it and goddess they hated being associated as a girl. Sure, they loved wearing skirts and looking pretty or handsome and stuff. They loathed being seen as a woman though.
Also, Masha loves a short haired Bisexual woman. Camp wasn't as crappy as they had anticipated, the cabin they got put in was awesome and they got the contact info of almost all of them except for Luz's.
Luz was awesome. They were bashful, timid sure, but also really creative. Also, very sensitive. Hopefully they see them soon.
They opened the door of the house. Very clean like usual.
They saw their parents sitting with their aunt. She was quietly talking before looking at Masha.
No shouting, not even time for arguments Masha's aunt told them to go pack. They expected that after the letter they had sent. Most of the letters were processed by the counselors if they weren't going to parents or guardians, so regrettably Masha spilled everything to their parents.
Their gender, sexuality, religion, self-image, thoughts. Things that they are sure were not easy to read.
They were handed the response three days after it mailed.
their original letter crumpled from being smoothed out of a ball and then a clean folded sheet from their mother.
Masha,
I am sorry that you feel we failed as parents, we did everything we could. Your father decided and I agree we do not welcome you back into our home. You'll be living with my sister.
It hurt honestly. Knowing the home they were going to be dropped back off at is no longer their home. This could have been worse. Ben, long haired emo boy, had told them:
"If I sent my parents a letter like that, they wouldn't even let me pack."
Not exactly that it was a lot blunter, but basically. Masha was kind of scared though. They didn't know if the words on the page were calmer than it would be once they got home. Their dad could be extremely temperamental they figure that's why their mom wrote the letter.
Masha packed a lot of their stuff. Some of it they left cause they couldn’t find a bag or suit case to stuff it in and they were not about to go down there for a trash bag. They might start crying if they do.
They grabbed a backpack from grade school and stuffed some small plushies in there. They haven’t even gotten to their jewelry or makeup. It should fit in a small pocket.
Their bedding they fit in the middle of their blanket.
Their aunt headed up soon and help them collect their packed stuff and take it out to her car. Masha couldn’t look at any of them, not their parents, not their aunt, not even their younger brother as he stood their holding a cup of juice.
Masha came back in shortly to get their little bag of stuff from camp when their brother hugged them. They patted his head and mumbled quietly about how he can visit. It hurt more than being kicked out knowing they were leaving him.
Things weren't all bad here if they had just kept their thoughts to themself this would of been fine. They wouldn't have to collect all their shit.
How do they explain to five year old why his sissy is leaving home? Masha may not of been the best older sibling, sometimes they would scold him for being in their room, not let him hang out while their friends were over. That didn’t mean they didn’t love him.
Masha walked downstairs with their last bag and little brother awkwardly on their hip like when he was younger. They sat him down and headed out to their aunts car. Their parents were in the living room. They were not going to get a goodbye.
"I'm proud of you, for the record." Their aunt said quietly. Staring at the road. Masha was watching the houses passed their phone was still charging.
"I don’t get why." They mumbled.
"I never would've been able to tell your grandma I was queer. Fourty six years old and no kids and I still haven’t." She laughed, Masha glanced over and nodded.
Masha shrugged leaning back against the seat "I just couldn’t keep it to myself. I wasn't gonna be able to hide it at school so I could never hide it at home.." she mumbled.
"You shouldn't have to. You're a kid your job isn’t to be exactly who your parents want you to be."
Masha got in their new room and just left their stuff on the ground they sent a picture of themselves sitting in front of their new bed sending it in a text.
-
Mashed : guess who has been kicked out!
Benny : damn dude, that sucks.
Ashes : U doing ok? Did anything happen?
Mashed : no its like fine! No fuss, they just got me out. Let me get my shit. I'm living with aunt now Ig.
Ashes : sry at least it wasnt ugly! Is ur aunt cool?
Mashed : ig, shes queer too. I dont think she knows how to raise a kid at all.
Benny : trhat smtuibg atj leasjtj
Mashed : dude
Ashes : Ben go 2 sleep loser
-
Masha smiled slightly and got up to work making the bed and getting some of their stuff away, the drawers smelt old and gross so they just left their clothes folded on the dresser.
They flopped onto the bed and sighed and laid there for a while.

Chapter Text
Masha sighed, resting their arms on the front desk. It was a slow day. Like really slow.
Annoyingly, Jacob was the last person and that was TWO HOURS AGO. Goddess they're so bored. They can't even be on their phone, their supervisor got really mad when they pulled it out during slow days.
The door to the GHS opened and the girl that was hanging out with Luz’s friends the other day came in. She must also be one of Luz's friends if she hangs out with them. Also Halloween night after the Haunted Hay Ride, Goddess she looked really cool that night. Focus Masha.
"Hey! It's you again!" Masha greeted, lame! They scolded themselves. "What can I help you with?" Masha tapped the counter.
They looked at them and she played with the sleeve of her sweater. "oh, well I just wanted to say thanks for the other night."
Masha blushed, Goddess they are so screwed "oh it was nothing." They dismissed. She nodded and looked away.
"Well, would you maybe, want to hang out at some point?" She asked. Masha stared at her.
"Yeah. Yeah! Of course!" Masha smiled. "Dang this is embarrassing, you didn’t tell me your name." Masha said.
"I'm so sorry! It's Vee. Vee Noceda." They said, Noceda?
"Are you related to Luz?" They asked, hopefully that's not rude. Vee's hair seemed to lift when her eyes widened.
"Yeah, we're sisters." Vee said. Masha could've sworn Luz said she was an only child at camp. It's been a while since they've actually talked to Luz... maybe they're thinking of Ben.
"Neat, Luz was awesome at camp. I have free time after my shift if that's fine." Masha smiled. Vee nodded.
"Definitely! I'll be at Robin's Roast." Vee waved bye and headed out. Masha waved back and rested their chin on their hand.
Later that night Masha was on call with Ben and Ash fixing their nails.
"Oh yeah, I learned that cute girl's name!" Masha said. Ash laughed quietly.
"The one you haven't stopped talking about?" Ash asked. Masha blushed.
"Shut up. But yes. It's Vee. You'll never guess her last name." Masha put their nail polish down. Ben thought.
"Gravesfield?" He asked.
"CuteGirl." Ash teased more. Masha sighed.
"No but close, it's Noceda."
The call went silent.
"Dude, are you serious? Is she like a cousin?" Ash asked. Their tone was extremely serious.
"No, she's Luz’s sister, adopted recently. We talked at the café for two hours." Masha smiled.
"So you went from liking Luz an embarrassing amount to liking her sister even quicker to an even more embarrassing amount?" Ben pointed out.
"Look, I have a problem. And plus Luz has a girlfriend. She's super pretty by the way. Luz is smitten." Masha rambled "I'm serious though, I think I have a problem, I really like Vee. When I got home earlier my aunt immediately clocked me! I didn’t even say anything and she immediately asked if it was the Halloween girl." Masha exclaimed.
Ash bursted out laughing "Dude. You are fucked." They laughed.
Notes:
Any of these posts could be the last one so it'll stay complete even if I add more-
I enjoy Masha being really messy when it comes to crushing on someone cause they're bad at hiding it.
