Work Text:

Senku grimaced as he put the finishing touches on the plane.

It had been too long since the last attack that had killed Taiju. He had no doubt that the next attack would be coming really soon.

Yuzuriha had helped him strategize and now they had a full plan on what they’d do when the time came.

He only hoped that the extraction team would complete their goal soon and extract Gen while subduing the very one who’d ordered Taiju’s death.

He wiped the sweat from his head as he took a break.

He grimaced as he thought of multiple possible attacks, aerial, land based, or even water based.

He knew this wasn’t going to be a bloodless fight. His anger had cooled somewhat thanks to both Ryusui and Yuzuriha’s influence, but he knew that Xeno’s lackeys wouldn’t hold the same ideals.

He’d simply have to make sure that there were at least two people willing to do what it took to ensure that none of the rest of their crew fell to Xeno’s kingdom.

He quickly found whom he was looking for.

Moz and Matsukaze. They had just finished a spar.

Matsukaze spotted him first and greeted him warmly.

The two were luckily surrounded by those whom he knew would fit the bill of what he was about to request.

He spoke, “I’m glad that you all are gathered here. You are currently all of our strongest warriors while the others are away.”

He watched as some of them shared confused looks. Moz simply raising a brow with intrigue.

He continued, “Moz will lead the attack force on the ship in case of land or water attack. You all will do whatever is necessary to ensure the lives of our crew are preserved. If they are aiming to kill, you aim to kill right back. “

They simply blinked and nodded at him. Matsukaze bowed his head in understanding as Moz grinned and said, "Now that’s what I like to hear.”

Senku then ordered, “Moz, Matzukaze, with me.”

He turned after making sure that the two of them were following.

He led them towards his main work room. He and Kaseki had been quite busy as of late.

He began, “Kaseki and I have crafted special armor. If we had the resources and time, we would make them for all, but with you two as the strongest, we crafted your armors first. It’s not necessarily bullet proof. It hasn’t been tested, but it’s better than nothing or leaving your chest vulnerable, especially if the sniper attacks.”

Matsukaze had an astonished look on his face as he admired the craftsmanship of the armor while Moz held a grin on his face.

Moz simply said, “Nice. Too bad it’ll cover one of my best attributes, but it’s rather sturdy.”

Senku rolled his eyes.

He said, “Yeah. You two are both used to bloodshed and fighting. The guys out there, yeah, they’re fighters, but most of them haven’t experienced the type of danger that we are all in. I have crafted additional weapons as well.”

He then handed Moz the newly crafted gun.

Moz’s eyes lit up with glee as he said, “Well, this is a surprise. Not my preferred weapon, of course, but I’ve seen that dolt shoot one like this before. I should be able to manage.”

Senku grimaced as he said, “Practice. Kaseki and I have crafted enough ammunition for you to have two practice rounds in addition to the full chamber.”

Moz nodded.

He then aimed at a bottle on the other side of the room and pulled the trigger, startling everyone present.

Senku began to curse as he said, I didn’t mean in here you idiot! You’re lucky that was an empty bottle! I have some volatile stuff in here.”

Moz just smirked and said, “Looks like my aim is fine though. Pretty good for a rookie, eh?”

Senku rolled his eyes as Matsukaze’s eye twitched.

“At least he knew how to use the gun.” Senku thought before dismissing them.

~~~~~~
Senku grimaced as he looked through the recently made binoculars.
He quickly said, “Back to base. That wasn’t the man we were looking for. That was a decoy.”
He grimaced as Ryusui quickly made the turn. Senku had planned for this. He knew that this had been a possibility. He’d suspected it was a decoy attack considering the enemy plane didn’t fire at them. It was all an elaborate ploy.
They’d honestly just been lucky that their plane hadn’t guzzled any of the gas that the enemy plane had. He’d luckily managed to keep a hold on the last bottle during a risky maneuver that had ended with the enemy plane falling.
Senku kept watch with his binoculars as they approached.
He growled.
Xeno’s team had built a submarine.
The soldiers had already boarded and were quickly knocking out many of his people.
Ryusui cursed before saying, “Are we going to defend from the sky?”
Senku said, “Yes.”
Ryusui circled from above as Senku piloted the small turret that he had made in preparation for the worst.
From what he’d seen, Moz and Matsukaze seemed to be holding their own.
Senku then heard the sound of gunshots, somehow louder than their plane.
Ryusui cursed as he reported, “The sniper just jumped out of the submarine and subdued Moz. Moz got a shot in, but it just grazed the guy’s arm. Moz got hit in the chest near the clavicle, it pierced his armor, but he's alive.”
Senku growled in anger. He and Moz had a rocky start, but he still cared.
Senku ordered, “Get me a good view.”
Ryusui maneuvered to a good position.
This put Senku directly in the line of fire while also giving him a good view.
Senku had to dodge as the damn blonde got a good shot in that grazed his arm. Senku held on as Ryusui performed another move to get himself out of the line of fire.
Ryusui yelled, “Senku, now’s a good time to start shooting!”
Senku ignored the pain in his arm as he manned the turret and aimed.
HIs eyes met those of the blonde bastard. Both aiming towards each other’s heads.
Senku got his shot off first.
Senku ducked down as soon as he’d gotten his shot off. He’d had just enough time to miss being shot to death. His head had been grazed.
He grimaced.
He was only consoled when he heard Ryusui’s triumphant shout, “You got him, Senku! He'd down! The others are panicking and jumping ship.”
Senku groaned and wiped at his head. The feeling of blood running down his face was quite uncomfortable.
Ryusui warned, “I’m going to land.”
Senku prepared for landing.
It was luckily a safe landing.
The blonde bastard was bleeding from a head wound. It was a very deep graze, worse than the one on Senku’s own head. He was being pinned down by Nikki, who’d managed to get out of her restraints as soon as the soldiers had begun to flee.
Senku was slightly surprised that the guy was still alive, though it appeared that he was unconscious. All of his weapons had been removed.
Win one for the Kingdom of Science.
Xeno was going down, especially now that his pet sniper was incapacitated.
