Work Text:
Working with your spouse can be both a blessing and a curse, especially when your students are insatiable, nosy little things.
When you’re a university professor, it’s somehow even worse than if they were kindergarteners.
Admittedly, Charles often finds it endearing. Erik, on the other hand, not so much. He grumbles and mumbles about their students and their prying eyes, and that’s what makes Charles more endeared than anything else.
“Raven thinks we should have joint classes.” Erik says, disdain obvious.
Charles laughs, amused. “That would be rather difficult, considering we teach very different subjects.”
“I said the same thing.” Erik shakes his head, reaching across the top of Charles’s desk to gently take his hand. “Besides, I would be much too distracted to teach properly with you in the room.”
“Flatterer.” Charles grins cheekily as Erik lifts his hand, pressing a kiss to the back of it.
Their rings catch in the light of Charles’s study.
Erik smiles into his skin, chuckling before he pulls away. “I’m simply telling the truth, my love.”
Charles takes his hand back, making a shooing motion towards Erik. “Now, get out of my office. I have essays to grade, and so do you.”
