Levi had been staring at himself in the bathroom mirror for quite some time now. He admitted that he got self conscious about his height at times, but he never really cared about it since his strength and skill made up for it. He was aware of the fact that he was decent looking too.

However, today he felt like shit. Everyone has one of those days, Levi thought to himself. His gaze traveled upon down his shirtless body and face. He had a good figure that he had since his days in the underground. He felt quite insecure.

He had the power and authority to order people twice his size around. He never really cared about them, but he couldn’t help but wish from within that maybe, maybe he was a bit more taller? He thinks about the way the snobby nobles who do nothing but sit around all day cower in fear when he stands infront of them, but quietly snickering about his height as he walks past and away from them. He knew and was grateful about his strength, but was strength the only thing the had? He knew he had a decent face and was quite good looking, it wasn’t exactly dashing, he could say. It was due to the constant battle in his life. His job was to protect everyone he could, he was the strongest soldier after all. His job was to fight. He could have wishes…right?

He wished his eyes were more brighter, instead of his dull ones. He thought his eyes were familiar, but couldn’t exactly pin point why. He wished he was taller. He wished his face was more glowing. He knew that looks weren’t his main priority, but he wished he was more attractive.

He clamped his eyes shut as he tried to push away his thoughts. Was he even worthy of your love? Were you making a mistake in loving him? What if you left him for someone more good looking, someone who was more capable of saving their friends, someone more expressive, someone not so stoic as him, someone taller…someone better.

“Levi?”

He froze. That was you. He was so lost in his thoughts, he didn’t hear coming in and standing next to him.

“Levi, what’s wrong?” you asked him as you hugged him from behind.

“Nothing’s wrong.” he retorted, a bit of harshness in his voice was evident.

You didn’t let go of him, and nuzzled your face into his neck, placing a soft kiss there. “Hey, you know you can tell me anything right?”.

Levi took a shuddering breath before he spoke. “Y/n, do you…do you want someone taller, someone more…you know, with a better face that doesn’t look stoic or something? Don’t get me wrong, I love you a lot, but I think you deserve someone better.”

The way his voice cracked in the middle would make anyone’s heart clench. You finally saw what the problem was and your eyes softened.

“Levi, no. I don’t think you see what I see.” You continued to hug him from the back, and gently guided his face forward so that you both were now looking at yourselves at the mirror.

“You know” you said to him. “If it isn’t obvious by now, your height has nothing to do with your strength, skill, and your kindness. I personally think that your height makes you look really cute, especially with me. Just so you know, I feel like your height is attractive.”

“what…? you actually mean that?” he looked at your face in the mirror with a surprised expression.

“Yeah, I mean it.” You placed a soft kiss on his cheek. “And I am pretty sure you have seen me drooling over your abs and thighs before!”

He chuckled slightly in response.

“And your haircut.” you continued to speak as you toyed with his hair. “It makes you look absolutely badass and angelic at the same time. I love your hair.”

Levi smiled softly. “My mom used to cut my hair like that.”

“Your mom had good taste. Have you every really looked at your eyes. Your grey eyes are so unique and genuinely so beautiful Levi, just like you. I feel like I got get lost in your eyes, and I could stare at them all day, but then I would be creepy.”

You removed your hand from his hair and placed it in one of his hands. “Your hands are hot. You cannot argue with me on this one. Look at slender your fingers are, that is very attractive. All and any scars on your body, no matter where they are, no matter how you got them, they are all a part of you, and I love all of you Levi. They are a reminder that you stayed strong and overcame that difficulty.”

You slowly turned him around so that he was facing you now, and cupped his face with both of your hands, gently brushing your thumb against the apple of his cheeks, holding him like glass. You also noticed how he was trying to hold back his tears as he looked at your face.

“You, Levi, are the most stunning person I have ever seen. The placement of your eyes-” you kissed his closed eyelids “-the colour of your skin, your nose, your lips, everything.” You continued to pepper kisses on his face, kissing his lips in the end. “You are beautiful on the outside and the inside. I have seen how much you care for the 104th, and other comrades. I have seen how kind and caring you are, and how you like to help others in any way you can, and how amazing of a captain and a person you are, and how you give your best in everything, and how much you care for and love me. I love you so, so much Levi. I don’t think I want anyone ‘better’ because you are the best for me. You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen.” You kissed his forehead and looked at him with a smile.

“Levi, before, I had only heard about angels, but now, I see a raven haired angel right infront me.”

And that was the point were Levi cracked and couldn’t stop his tears anymore. He hugged you tight as if he was clinging on to you for life. As you held him and whispered sweet nothing into his ears, he realized why his eyes looked so familiar. He had his mother’s eyes. And on top of that, he believed that you were the angel that appeared in his life. If there was anyone that could make Levi feel good about himself, it was you.
