Yoongi still remembered the first time Jin had introduced him to his friends.
He remembered chuckling at Hoseok’s and Taehyung’s antics and Jungkook’s completely serious (but still hilarious) “Hurt our eomma, and we hurt you.”
When he had first learnt that a group of 4 fully-grown boys (even Jimin counted as fully grown in this case.) called his boyfriend eomma, he had brushed it off as understandable. (Even if Namjoon had said that it was incredibly weird, and teased him for a week my calling him ‘appa’) After all, Jin was the only one who knew how to cook in their little group (ramen does not count, Hoseok) and he always had a maternal air around him.
At that time he hadn’t understood how literal the title of ‘eomma’ was.
It all started one fine evening. Yoongi was curled up on the couch with Jin, a fluffy blanket covering them and a bowl of popcorn between them. They were getting ready to watch a movie, and they were both understandably excited not because of the movie per se. This was the first time in almost a month that their free time had matched up, and they were both looking forward to spending it together.
The movie was just starting when they were interrupted by a knock on the door. Yoongi almost whined (key word, almost) as Jin moved away, missing the source of heat instantly.
“Hoseokie, what is it?” Jin asked concernedly as he opened the door to come face to face with the dancer who looked like he was in a pain.
“I twisted my ankle during dance practice and the nurse was out.” He explained, wincing in pain.
Jin’s eyes immediately widened with concern, “Come in, come in, go sit down on the couch. Let me just go get my first aid kit. Yoongi help him.” Jin said, before going into his bedroom, presumably to get his first aid kit leaving Yoongi with Hoseok.
Yoongi helped the younger boy in, mentally cursing Hoseok’s clumsiness and timing. He tried his best not to glare as he watched his boyfriend bandage up Hoseok’s ankle, eyes full of concern and a reassuring smile for Hoseok.
He knew if he voiced his thought of annoyance, Jin would give him that look, the look of utter disappointment because of Yoongi’s lack of concern for his friends, Yoongi hated that look.
They had just sent Hoseok back, after Jin asking the dancer if he wanted to stay longer. The dancer had hurriedly refused noticing the murderous look Yoongi directed at him.
The movie had just been playing for a few minutes when another knock interrupted them. Yoongi groaned this time, ignoring the look Jin shot him.
Jin opened the door to reveal Taehyung and Jimin loudly arguing in front of him.
“He was mine and you know it.” Jimin argued with a pout.
“The only reason he came to you was because you lured him in with a biscuit.” Taehyung protested.
Jin’s eyebrow twitched subtly “What is it, guys?” he asked.
“Eomma.” Taehyung cried, as if just noticing Jin (despite the fact they had just knocked at his door).
“We found this puppy on the street in a box.” Jimin explained, holding up a small black puppy.
From inside, Yoongi cringed at the sight of the puppy (he didn’t hate dogs exactly; he was just more of a cat person. He had wisely chosen not to mention this to Jin who was obsessed with dogs)
“And we couldn’t decide who he would belong to.” Taehyung continued.
“So we decided to have a competition, we put the puppy in the middle and whoever it came to would be the owner, that’s fair right?” Jimin explained.
“Except for the fact that Jimin cheated.” Taehyung said, decibel rising.
“I did not” Jimin protested.
Jin sighed, “You guys realize you share an apartment right? So why don’t you just have shared custody over the puppy.” He suggested.
Jimin’s and Taehyung’s eyes lit up; as if this was the first time they were considering the idea.
Yoongi rolled his eyes at the two idiots.
“That’s such a good idea!” Jimin gushed.
“Thanks eomma.” Taehyung added.
Instead of going away, like Yoongi had expected them to (more like hoped) both boys came in and instantly made themselves at home.
“What’re you making for dinner?” Taehyung asked, eyes twinkling.
Before Yoongi could explain to the two morons that they were on a date and they should not expect dinner from his boyfriend, another knock came at the door.
Jin opened the door to come face to face to see an upset Jungkook who immediately came in, without waiting for an invitation.
“What’s wrong Kookie-ah?” Jimin asked, noticing the maknae’s red rimmed eyes.
“My date stood me up.” Jungkook explained, lip trembling slightly. (The maknae was not used to rejection) “And I was really hungry.” He added shooting Jin a hopeful look.
Jin sighed “Just wait a while guys, let me go whip something up.”
Yoongi quickly followed Jin to the kitchen, but not without shooting all three boys a sharp glare (though this seemed to have no effect on them).
Jin immediately turned around as he heard Yoongi’s footsteps. He shot the petite man an apologetic smile “Sorry our date got interrupted.” He said. “But I can never refuse them.” He said gesturing to the living room where Jimin and Taehyung were trying to cheer up Jungkook with the puppy.
“I’ll make it up with you.” Jin promised. All of Yoongi’s anger melted away as Jin pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek. (He was so whipped, as Namjoon liked to point out)
And as Yoongi ate dinner with Jin and the three idiots he realized, he really didn’t mind that Jin was the eomma.....as long as he was the appa.
