Work Text:
I pluck carnations.
You never let me do it
You love the soft, luscious petals too much.
We had them in our garden, still have.
Carnations, next to rosemary, sage, mint and thyme.
You planted them so deftly, with a lovely, lovely smile on your face.
"They're for potions, Harry"
They aren't, Severus, and I knew.
They are merely pretty and you love them.
They remind you of me, you once said.
I pluck carnations.
And I think of you, of how you stole my heart twice.
Once with a bunch of pink carnations.
Once with a soft kiss goodbye.
