Work Text:
Angel fell for her best friend bit by bit everyday, gradual like how a dripping honey would slowly stretch thin before it eventually drops.
The buildup was gentle - started with subtle blushes, a few hidden glances that lingered a little longer than normal, followed by the fluttering of butterflies in her stomach.
Surprisingly, the acknowledgement of something she has never felt before came easy for her, how can’t it be when she had been savoring every moment that came with it.
For Lyann, the feeling struck her out of nowhere, like a jump ball serve with a speed of hundred kilometer per hour landing right on her face, when Angel pulled her into a hug in the middle of Chatuchak Market under the scorching July sun.
The realization truly hit her hard cause it momentarily knocked the wind out of her while the surrounding chatters were replaced by the deafening sound of her heart pounding against her chest.
Angel, who probably didn't notice how the other suddenly went stiff between her arms, had whispered a soft thank you to her neck before pulling away, beaming brightly while dragging the latter to the nearest food stall.
And just like that, Lyann was head over heels in love.
Lyann, for the life of her, couldn't remember what Angel had thanked her for during that time. But something shifted for them after that.
It felt like a wall between them was lifted, making way for the rush of emotions that the two of them had been holding back.
They didn’t dare voice it out, afraid that what they have are too delicate to put into words.
But in between soft smiles and shy touches, they both understood that the feelings are mutual, something they want to keep to themselves for now.
