“Knock knock.”Ben said, leaning against your bedroom doorway where you’d been working at your computer all day.
“Oh. Hey, love.”
“Hi. Whatcha working on?”
“Just answering emails and stuff. Writing too but I’m always doing that.”
“Well, I noticed you haven’t eaten today.”
“Yeah, I kind of space that out when I’m working.”
“I know, darling.”
You slowly got up from your chair, finally feeling the lightheadedness from throwing yourself into work the way you usually do. Ben walked over and wrapped his arms around your waist, gently picking you up and carrying you bridal-style to the living room. He'd already ordered pizza for the two of you for dinner, as well as some brownies for dessert. He sat down on the couch with you nestled in his lap and held you close while the two of you ate dinner.
