The Revival Of A Dream

Summary:

Izuku was just fine with being quirkless again. Or so he thought. He was fine watching from the sidelines again. He was fine being the man in the crowd always watching on heroes, and shouting words of encouragement. He was fine reminiscing about his highschool years of the trials of tribulation that came with it. He stopped giving it a thought, stopped dreaming. Izuku Midoryia was just a regular man in society now. But when a strange man comes to him and asks him truly, does he have the courage to keep dreaming? Or will he forever trapped in the dark again, never to see the wonderful sight constellations of his happiness? What exactly would he do if only he had more time to see the wonderful dreams and the stars that were in them?

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Deku sighed, another day at work over and done with. He was heading home in the subway train, sitting on the seat next to a few strangers.

He looked down at his phone and slightly frowned. No responses from Kacchan, Urakaka or Iida. Even though Deku had texted them like a week ago... Oh well. It wasn't much to worry about right? Friends wouldn't talk so much right? Besides he was just being silly. They had a lot of hero work to get though right?

He was just a teacher now, anyways. They were probably busy fighting off villians and saving lives. But then again, the crime rate had been on the fall recently.

The woman standing in front accidentally stumbled causing him to spill his coffee.

"Oh I'm awfully sorry sir!" The woman said, already trying to find a napkin in her purse.

"Oh it's n-no trouble at all." Deku said gritting his teeth, forcing a smile, the fresh hot coffee spilled all over his shirt. It seems like his day was just not his best.

"Well here! Please take these napkins. I hope it didn't ruin your shirt or anything like that."
The woman said handing him the napkins, and trying to clean him up herself by patting his shirt with the napkin. It was incredibly uncomfortable, especially her being a stranger and all.

"Please miss, it's fine." Deku said, just taking the napkins from her.

They had caused a small speculation, some people looking over at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Hey ain't that the kid who saved the word a few years back...?" A man with shaggy brown hair and scuffy beard said, putting his newspaper down.

"Yeah he was a hero but then turned to teaching." A teenager said, looking over at Deku in surprise and a bit of pity.

"Where?" A lady asked with a sniffly voice and a small dog with a jeweled collar in her arms.

"UA. You know how those pro heroes roll." The scuffy man said, looking at Deku with a newfound interest into observing this newfound object.

"Not surprising." The lady with the sniffly voice said, petting her dog.

Suddenly there was more questions for him as people began moving his with questions.

"Hey why'd you quit?"

"Are you just copying All Might with the teaching gig?"

"Who even is All Might anyways?"

"Hey, how old are you anyways?"

Deku was silently embarrassed and freaking out on the inside from all the eyes on him. He tried to answer the question but no words came out just stuttering.

"U-um those are all r-really great questions but you see uh-"

Luckily, the subway train stopped presumably on the next stop.

He quickly got out at the stop, to avoid any further speculation or incidents to happen.

"Oh thank god that's over..." He said mumbling in relief and going over to the subway train map to see how long he'd have to walk to his apartment. Great. A long time. Might as well get a another cup of coffee on the way home. He deposited his coffee in the nearest green trash bin and continued on his way.

---------------- Elias ---------------

He shuffled through the mountains of the paperwork on his desk, with a grumpy expression.

"Deined."

"Deined."

"Deined."

"Oh for fuck's sake *deined*!"

The [Organization: Not Found] was looking for new recruits and it seemed to be hopeless. They needed new recruits because of a bigger case that was ongoing and extremely important. Anyways, Who was even sending these to him? A idiot? God what were these? Most of these people were clearly just riff-raff. No skills at all. Just filler people who didn't matter a cent. Elias was a tall, thin man with high cheek bones and skin, the color of peanut better. People often remarked if he was just a touch lighter he'd look like that one character Peter Parker from the Spiderman movies. He often told those people to leave him alone and to never speak to him again.

It was a rather productive day at work for other people. But not him. Today he got assigned the wonderful role of sorting between folders and recruitment duty. So what if his last mission went wrong just because a few people was not going to be able to walk again? Or because he was just a tiny bit secretive about his own results and maybe just a pinch paranoid? Hey you could never be sure. Well unfortunately the upper board didn't think so. So they demoted him, which was blasphemous.

So now he was stuck with finding new recruits until he could "get it together" . Great. He'd have to train these *people* when he didn't even LIKE them. Fine. Great. Whatever.

People— or more specifically new recruits were quite annoying with all their pesky questions and inability to listen.

Finally he came across one somewhat interesting prospect. Elias looked down at the file and opened the background. Hm...this guy huh? Elias didn't know whoever sent this form in was an idiot or actually was onto something. For one thing he might have to brush up on his japanese. And fly overseas. But if this person, this mystery person who sent this form in knew what the hell they were talking about, this could prove big time in their latest case. He also seemed to be decent in fighting and had combat experience. Perfect. Elias wouldn't have to chat with him at all.

Elias put the file down and put his legs on his desk, with a small grin, folding his fingers.

"See you soon... Izuku Midoryia."
