Cody wasn't sure how General Kenobi and General Yoda convinced him to take Skywalkers kid but here the two were. Cody and Leia had jumped around the outer-rim for the first few years, Cody running odd jobs making good cash. Now the they had a large piece of land on a back water world far away from anyone and anything, there was no space port on world just a few small towns that lefted them alone for the most part.
The two had ran into Clone Force 99 seven or so years back, Leia and Omega became friends instantly, even though Leia was only four. Now the only outside contact Cody, Leia and a few brother form the 212th had on a regular basis was with the group of four clones, they came to vist three or four times a year. Cody was happy to see he wasn't the only one of his brothers that had a kid unexpectedly thrust upon them at the end of the war, though Cody had to admit Omega had grown into a great young woman that he was honored to call one of this vod.
"We have a deer half a click north west of my position" Hunter said through helmet comms just before a alert come up in his vision "Someone just tried cutting the fence at the south eastern corner" Cody said in a voice he hadn't used in years "copy that Commander, we'll swing around back to the compound" Omega replied in the most serious voice he had ever heard out of her "Leia come in" Cody said after switching onto their emergency frequency "I'm here Buir, how's huntting?" Leia replied, still so young an unscared. "Leia we may have a intruder, lock the place down as soon as were back" Cody said trying to use the soft and soothing voice he always had when talking to her "ok, how close are you" Leia asked her voice harding as much as one so young could "five clicks, the breach is just under a hundred clicks south of you, we have time, just be ready" Cody said well being more and more grateful that he had taught Leia basic security procedures early on.
Cody was very happy with the compound he and his brothers had been able to make, at wasn't the biggest but nor was it small by any means, in fact though only seventeen vod and Leia lived at it permanently it was a square kilometer . It was a perfect mix of a defendable fortification and a beautiful place to live, it had cost a few fortunates to buy the materials but it was well worth it. Cody still vividly remembered the raid on Dooku's war chest from years ago, but now wasn't the time to get deja vu, Cody quickly started to run to his and Leia's home, one thing the group had made sure of was getting Beskar’gam, Cody hoped they would never need it, they had armor already, but now he was anticipating a fight, and a bad one at that.
"Leia?" Cody called out as he entered the kitchen of what could be called their house "Buir!" Leia poked her head out of her room and ran to hug him "I see your as ready as you could get" Cody said well looking over the girl that had became his daughter "ya, I got my knifes and you showed me where you keep all your blasters years ago" Leia replied well pulling out one of the four knifes Cody had gave her to demonstrate her point "Good, I need to go change then all we can do is wait" Cody replied well squatting down the Leia's level to look into her eyes.
It was mid-morning when the Empire came pounding at the walls of the compound with a level of incompetency Cody physically cringed at, what ever kind of heavy armor they had was stuck a few clicks away in the deep marshes that froze over this time of year. "This should be good" Boil said from beside him "is it just me or is it cold?" Leia asked from his other side "it's a bit cool but it's not cold" Omega replied holding the blaster rifle they had lent her steady "though that might just be Crosshair" Omega joked and made Leia laugh and Crosshair elbow Omega hard enough to get a sound out of her "I'm not the grumpy" Crosshair grumbled before taking a shot that hit "not like temperature wise, just cold" Leia said and that put Cody on edge, "Leia would you go get the slugthrower pistols form my room" Cody said with a hint of urgency "sure Buir, what's wrong?" Leia asked "don't worry about it ad'ika, just be quick ok" Cody responded adding the mando'a to try and ease the rock that seems to have formed in his stomach.
Cody hated when he was right when it came to force osik. "This is where you die, clone" a man dressed in a dark black outfit said as they walked up, they had held the line for nine hours, killed thousands of Imperials before they had broke through part of the wall. They tried rushing the gap and were cut down with heavy repeating blasters and automated turrets. That was until a force user came with a crimson red lightsaber and finaly made it in, they left there reinforcements to get killed by blasters but Cody wasn't complaining "I feel that your mistaken" Cody said in a cold but calculating voice, the one that would break shinys in less then five minutes, the one that had delt with force osik for so long he had seen it all "before I kill you, who's the kid" the dark clothed figer asked, Cody had fogot Leia had been behind him "none of your concerned kid" Cody decided to try and provoke the darksider "you dare" the man said before igniting the other side of his lightsaber and Cody pulled the slugthrower that Leia had graped for him off his belt "have you never seen a lightsaber before clone, because blasters don't work" the man taunted "Leia please go to a different wallway, no need for you to see buir gut a man alive infront of you" Cody said conversationally as if it was something he said often
And with that the man charged and was shot in the arm by a shot of molten metal that burned a hole straight through his for-arm and came out the other side "you dare you pathetic clone" the man started yelling and Cody could see he was going to try and force push him, but before the man did anything he went flying backwards landing with a 'crash' before Cody could think he lined up the shot and took it, straight through the forehead and came out the other side with a 'splat' "Buir!" Leia came running up to him, clearly trying not to look at the dead body with two holes in it as she buried her head in his side
"I did that didn't I" Leia said practically sobbing "ad'ika, it's ok, we'll all be here to work through this together" Cody said trying to comfort his daughter
