Chapter Text

He didn't know why he was acting like this. Ever since he started working at Von Clutch's Motorworld as the mascot years back, he always felt so odd about his boss. Maybe hate? The embodiment of what he's reduced to after years of law school and working up whatever he had, only to be reduced to a mascot? It couldn't be.. It was a mixed feeling, it was mostly hate. He wasn't getting paid enough for the bullshit he faced by idiotic kids or his cruddy co-workers who acted like he was a black sheep. Pasadena was okay though, she didn't really talk much to him, and when she did, She was at least decent, Von Clutch however.. It just felt plain weird.

Willie sat at a bench, grumpy per usual on his break. He didn't really have anything to do on his short break besides to peoplewatch parkgoers and employees alike, or maybe serve himself some wumpa whip. But the concept of serving yourself something that comes out of your body is just grody to him. But hey, it's a last resort.

He just sat and glared at his surroundings, taking note of the now boring park due to the run through routine he does on his shift, nothing felt new anymore, it was the same crap every day. His Wumpa-pump nose getting tugged on by stupid kids, listening to his boss yell, being alienated from his fellow co-workers and best of all, regretting his life decisions that led him here. But something was different today.

As he people-watched, he noticed his boss, Von Clutch helping a park-goer with a game. A different side to Von Clutch he never saw, him being so tender and kind to someone. Willie couldn't help but catch himself getting hypnotized by that rare gem of a demeanor being shown by his boss, something about that attitude. And his..expression, that beautiful green eye. It was like there was an angel standing right at a distance from Willie. He was a chicken freezing up and accepting its death. He has never felt this way before, so why is he feeling it now?! He feels those butterflies within his stomach, that fluttering feeling. It kept getting worse within each second he kept staring at Von Clutch and his dreamy face.. And his—

"Willie? What are you staring at, hm?"

Oh.

Seems like Von Clutch had noticed Willie oogling him. But completely unaware of the thoughts and feelings warring in his employees' brain. He was always the oblivious and blunt type. A person's worst nightmare if they even had a crush on ol' Ebenezer. And it seems that Willie had the short end of the stick.

"..Uh. Nothing, sorry. I gotta go back to work—" Willie stammered out, before booking it back to the front of the Midway in his spot and doing his job of greeting park-goers.

...God, How is he ever gonna deal with this?
