Work Text:

The trunk slammed shut as the Norsk walked around the red vehicle, hopping into the front seat. Edd sighed, his arms crossed over his chest. Matt glanced over at him.

"I can't believe Tord is leaving."

The ginger placed a hand on his shoulder, flashing a comforting smile.

The car whirred to life as Tord rolled down the window, sticking his hand out to wave.

"Goodbye!"

"Goodluck!"

Edd looked at Tom, who hadn't said anything yet. He stood a few feet away, standing just to the side of the car, his eyes focused on something. Following his gaze, the Brit noticed that he was staring at Tord in the side-view mirror.

Tord looked down at the mirror, catching Toms stare through the reflective glass. He blinked.

Something in his eyes seemed wrong. Not bad, just wrong. An emotion he had never seen from the Norsk before. He couldn't place his finger on it.

Tord, though hesitant, tore his eyes away from the mirror and faced the road, finally pressing his foot on the gas and driving away.

"Aren't you going to say goodbye?"

Tom looked at him, opened his mouth, then closed it, as if he didn't want to. As if he hated the idea of saying bye to someone he's known and despised for so long.

There it was, that same look that he saw in Tord. The Brits eyebrow twitched, ever so slightly, and his eyes were downcast, but Edd could see it, even if he tried his best to hide it.

"Are you okay?"

"Meh."
